Gold Prices Are Soaring - The Experts at Ritani Share Why Platinum is the Metal of Choice this Year
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK / ACCESS Newswire / March 4, 2025 / With gold prices nearing $3,000 per ounce, many consumers are rethinking their metal of choice, whether they are shopping for an engagement ring, eternity band or a pair of everyday hoops.Ritani Toi et Moi Lab Grown Diamond Hoop Earrings Ritani Toi et Moi Lab Grown Diamond Hoop Earrings
'For more than a decade, gold jewelry has been de rigueur but during the holiday season we saw a major shift towards platinum,' says Ritani COO Ria Papasifakis.
Did you know that platinum is the world's most precious metal and is 30 times rarer than gold? While white gold is still a fantastic choice, platinum outshines it when it comes to durability, long-term beauty, and luxury feel. Unlike white gold, which gets its silvery shine from a rhodium coating that wears off over time, platinum is naturally white. That means no yellowish tint peeking through and no expensive trips to the jeweler for replating. Your platinum ring, bracelet, or earrings will stay just as radiant forever.
Platinum is also heavier and denser than gold, which means it holds up exceptionally well over time and can be passed down through generations. While white gold can wear down and lose metal over the years, platinum forms a soft patina that actually adds to its character. Plus, it keeps gemstones secure, making it an excellent choice for engagement rings.
'Platinum is basically a set-it-and-forget-it metal, which makes it appealing because who has time for constant upkeep to have your jewelry looking as fabulous as it should be?' notes Papasifakis.
Another benefit of platinum is that it is hypoallergenic, so it is the perfect choice for those with sensitive skin or allergies to common metals.
'Platinum is not just a trend-it's a timeless metal that has always been associated with luxury, prestige, and longevity. If you're looking for a metal that will stand the test of time and never lose its brilliance, platinum is a no-brainer,' adds Papasifakis.

Beverage Company Discontinues Popular Hard Seltzer and Fans Are Upset

Beverage Company Discontinues Popular Hard Seltzer and Fans Are Upset originally appeared on Parade. Spindrift fans are facing some disappointing news after the company announced that they're discontinuing a fan-favorite product. Early this week, the wildly popular sparkling water brand shared an update that they would no longer be selling Spiked Spindrift, the alcoholic version of their sparkling water. The hard seltzer has been on shelves since 2021 but in a statement, Spindrift shared that now that many customers are changing their relationship with alcohol, it would no longer be their focus. "After four years, we've decided to discontinue our Spindrift Spiked product line to focus on what we do best: bringing real ingredients to sparkling water and innovating new non-alcoholic categories with real squeezed fruit," the brand shared in a social media statement. They continued, "It has been an incredible run, and we're proud of all we accomplished with Spiked, but as more consumers reassess their relationship with alcohol, we're excited to double down on our core Spindrift products."On their website, the brand explained their decision to move away from alcoholic beverages, sharing that they wanted to honor their "long-time commitment to our core sparkling water business" and continue to do what they do best. They also noted that as Spindrift Spiked was the company's first foray into the wold of alcoholic beverages, they quickly realized that the "business demands substantial resources and time due to the unique route to market, dedicated manufacturing requirements, and necessary regulatory compliance." On top of that, over the past several years, there has also been a "declining hard seltzer demand." "Making the decision to move on from a beloved product line is never easy. We are incredibly proud of the impact that our team was able to achieve in the marketplace, and this is a difficult decision, but the right one to better serve the needs of our customers, supporting the tremendous momentum of the current business and strong consumer trends towards non-alc beverages," CEO Dave Burwick shared. Unfortunately, the announcement didn't sit well with many fans of the brand, who saw it as one of the best hard seltzers on the market. "Why are you ruining my life??? This is the only hard seltzer that doesn't taste artificial or give me a headache," one fan wrote on Instagram, with another adding, "This is so incredibly disappointing, the only seltzer on the market without trash ingredients." Someone else added, "Genuinely the only alcoholic beverage that has not upset my stomach. This is so sad. I used to drive across state lines to go get cases of this for boating days with my friends." But despite the backlash, one follower pointed out that those who are going to miss Spiked Spindrift can simply add their alcohol of choice to their regular sparkling water to create a similar drink. The brand also noted that there's much more innovation to come in the future. After the launch of Spindrift Soda earlier this year, the company says there's new products and winter flavors coming soon.
