‘Nalam Kaakkum Stalin' health screening camps inaugurated in Tirunelveli, Tenkasi districts
Speaking on the occasion, he said the upper middle class families and the rich could afford to spend every year anywhere between ₹5,000 and ₹15,000 for the 'Master Health Check-Up' to check their health parameters and take medical treatment appropriately, which would save them from serious ailments. Hence, the Tamil Nadu Government had introduced 'Nalam Kaakkum Stalin' health screening camps across Tamil Nadu. Physicians and surgeons from the Departments of General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pulmonology, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy and Indian Medicine were present in the camp to screen the patients. Special emphasis would be given to screen patients for diabetes, hypertension, ECG and blood analysis.
'Since prevalence of cancer due to pollution and lifestyle has become common, oncologists have also been posted in the camps to check a range of cancers, particularly cervical and breast cancer,' the Speaker said.
Moreover, arrangements had been made to clinically screen the visitors and give certificates to the differently-abled, identity card for Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.
'The results of the investigations will be handed over to the patients immediately,' he said.
Mr. Sukumar said 30 'Nalam Kaakkum Stalin' camps would be organised in Tirunelveli district every Saturday. Patients requiring further treatment would be referred to the nearby government hospital or the Government Medical College Hospital for specialised treatment.
For instance, Samuthira Pandi, a patient from Thisaiyanvilai showed significant variations during ECG tests and was immediately taken to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital in an ambulance along with his nephew Esakki for further investigation and appropriate treatment.
District Revenue Officer M. Suganya was present.
In Tenkasi district, Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore inaugurated the 'Nalam Kaakkum Stalin' programme in Government Higher Secondary School at Melaneelithanallur near Sankarankovil in the presence of MP Rani Srikumar.
'The camp will be held at 10 places in Tenkasi district every Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.' Mr. Kamal Kishore said.
District Health Officer Govindan, Joint Director of Health Services Premalatha and others participated in the camp.

‘Nalam Kaakkum Stalin' scheme launched in Dindigul, Ramanathapuram
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated medical camps under Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme through video conferencing in Dindigul and Ramanathapuram districts on Saturday. In Dindigul district, Rural Development Minister I. Periyasamy inaugurated the medical camp in Dindigul in the presence of Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan, Palani MLA I.P. Senthil Kumar, Vedasandur MLA S. Gandhirajan and Mayor J. Ilamathi. According to the press release, in Dindigul district, a total of 45 medical camps in the 15 blocks will be conducted every Saturday. In Ramanathapuram district the medical camp was inaugurated in Mandapam. Ramanathapuram Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon, Ramanathapuram MLA Katharbatcha Muthuramalingam, Paramakudi MLA S. Thirty medical camps planned in Tiruvarur district
The district administration in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare Department has decided to conduct 30 medical camps under the Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme launched on Saturday. According to an official release, these camps will be held at three places in each taluk in the district with priority to places having higher Scheduled Caste population and economically backward areas. In addition to the health checkup, people would be helped in enrolling for the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme and persons with disabilities get their identity card. A health camp was held at Muthupettai on Saturday and was attended by Collector V. Mohanachandran.
