Wisconsin women's basketball lands transfer guard
Wisconsin women's basketball landed a commitment from Missouri State transfer guard Kyrah Daniels on Wednesday.
Daniels joins the program after two years at Missouri State. She played key roles during each of those campaigns, averaging 27.4 minutes, 9.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals as a true freshman in 2023-24, then 29.5 minutes 12 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals as a sophomore this past season. Over her two years with the Bears, Daniels shot a combined 39.6% from the floor and 35.3% from 3. She joins the Badgers with two years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot guard is Wisconsin's fourth transfer commitment of the offseason, following Howard guard Destiny Howell, NC State guard Laci Steele and Southern Illinois forward Gift Uchenna. The four are projected to lead a Wisconsin roster that experienced top-down turnover this offseason, with six players gone to the transfer portal, including star forward Serah Williams, and another three to graduation.
New head coach Robin Pingeton has been busy on the recruiting trail since taking over in late March. She is looking to lead the Badgers to their first winning season since 2010-11.

Texas surging with elite edge Jamarion Carlton after recent visit
Texas surging with elite edge Jamarion Carlton after recent visit Texas has picked a few huge commitments over the last week for their 2026 recruiting class as four-star defensive lineman Dylan Berymon and four-star defensive tackle Corey Wells made their pledges to the Longhorns. They have another blue-chipper in their sights as well and that's four-star edge Jamarion Carlton. The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder named Texas in his top five schools last week and also set a July 10 commitment date. Carlton was back in Austin last weekend to see the Longhorns, and he got to take in a bunch of what the program has to offer and what they have in store if he commits. "This official visit was amazing," Carlton told Rivals earlier this week. "Just to be able to chill with the players, get some good advice and then being able to know what plan they have for me. At Texas, the plan to develop me into reaching my highest potential as a player and as a person was great. The time with the players and the coaches was pretty fun." Carlton had a productive junior season for Temple High School. He amassed 57 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks, and a forced fumble. Rivals has Carlton ranked extremely high in their rankings. In addition to being the No. 46 overall prospect he's also the No. 4 edge rusher and the No. 4 recruit in the state of Texas. Texas Tech hosted Carlton at the end of April and LSU in May. He still has official visits to Texas A&M and Baylor before he commits, so last weekend was immensely important for Texas and their chances to land Carlton. After spending time with players on the Longhorns roster as well as edge coach LaAllan Clark, Carlton can envision himself playing in Austin. "I can see myself there," Carlton said. If Texas can snag Carlton, they'll inch closer toward a top 10 class for the 2026 cycle. Wisconsin Secures Commitment From Versatile DB Zachary Taylor
Wisconsin Secures Commitment From Versatile DB Zachary Taylor originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After over a week without an addition to its 2026 class, the Wisconsin football team got back on the board with the commitment of 3-star defensive back Zachary Taylor (Katy, Texas). Advertisement Pulling Taylor out of Texas wasn't going to be easy, but he took an official visit to Wisconsin at the start of the month, and the Badgers took advantage of his time in Madison. Beyond Wisconsin, Taylor's official visits included West Virginia, Texas Tech, Pitt, and Houston. He ultimately chose the Badgers over the other four programs. The newest Wisconsin commit announced his pledge to the Badgers via his social media. With a background as a multi-sport athlete that includes track and soccer, Taylor's athleticism has the Wisconsin football staff extremely excited, and they anticipate he'll develop into a standout player. Advertisement He is a versatile player who has played both cornerback and safety in high school. Although he is listed as a cornerback on 247Sports, the Wisconsin staff views him as a safety. Zachary Taylor in the Recruiting Rankings Though currently rated as a 3-star prospect by major recruiting services, Taylor is a perfect example of the type of player whose ranking could significantly improve, possibly reaching 4-star status by the end of his senior year. But as of right now, here is where he falls on the major recruiting websites. 247Sports 247Sports probably has the highest rating on Taylor, albeit as a cornerback. But a rating of 89 is a borderline 4-star player on its rating scale. The 247Sports Composite has him as the 439th-overall player in the country and the 43rd-ranked cornerback. Advertisement Rivals Similar to 247Sports, Rivals has Taylor as a borderline 4-star player. Their 5.7 rating for the new Wisconsin football commit is the highest rating a 3-star prospect can get before hitting 5.8, which would give him a fourth star. The recruiting site does not have him in any national, state, or positional rankings. On3 On3 is the site lowest on Taylor. They have him as a 3-star prospect as well and a rating of just 85.95. 3-star prospects fall in the 80-89 range. They have him as the 926th-overall prospect in the 2026 class and the 83rd-ranked safety. Where the Wisconsin Football Recruiting Class Stands With the Addition of Taylor Zachary Taylor's commitment pushed the 2026 class to 12 players for the Wisconsin football program. The addition of Taylor gives the Badgers a nice little boost, pushing them from 40th to 33rd in the 247Sports Team Rankings as it currently stands. Advertisement Taylor also becomes the Bagders' top-ranked player in the class according to the 247Sports rankings. With just 12 committed players, the Wisconsin football team still has plenty of work to do in filling out the rest of this class. 4-star running back Amari Latimer is a top target for the team, and there are still a few targets at wide receiver, including Jayden Petit, Zachary Washington, and Zion Legree. Recruiting may have slowed down a bit, but there are still things coming in the near future. Elite 2026 4-star Edge sends message after his Texas A&M official visit
Elite 2026 4-star Edge sends message after his Texas A&M official visit One of Texas A&M's first 2026 commitments in the 2026 class has now made it known to the rest of the country that he is 100% locked in with the Aggies, as four-star defensive end Jordan Carter will reportedly shut down his recruitment during his recent interview with TexAgs recruiting analyst Jason Howell, who has been steadily tracking Carter's recent uptick in outside attention. Coach Mike Elko has continued to impress both the fan base and the Aggie media with his ability to recruit the state of Georgia, which began with the landing of 2026 four-star Aaron Gregory, followed by Jordan Carter in late October. After shutting down his recruitment last weekend, Gregory could end up being the program's highest-ranking commit by the end of the year. Carter's ascension as a pass rusher has led to Tennessee and Florida State making strong pushes over the last two months. While he took unofficial visits to both programs in late March and early April, Carter's official visit to Texas A&M last weekend sealed the deal for the standout versatile defender. "Aggie fans, I'm locked in, and I'm ready to work! Gig 'Em!" While he has yet to post on his social media (X) account, this essentially solidifies his standing as a "hard" commit, which will be finalized during the Early Signing Period on December 4. During his 2024 junior season with Douglas County HS, Carter recorded 62 tackles, 35 solo tackles, 13 sacks, and 17 tackles for loss. According to 247Sports, Carter is currently positioned as the 114th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 14th-ranked Edge, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
