Halle Berry, 59, claps back at her ex David Justice's cruel comments while sharing sexy bikini snaps
She was getting her say after the 59-year-old baseball star slammed her for not cooking or cleaning when they were wed in the 1990s.
In her new Instagram post she added the caption, 'Phew…! cooking, cleaning and mothering.'
The star was celebrating her 59th birthday in the tropics as she posed in a skimpy gold string bikini by Monday Swimwear. The former Bond girl looked sensational with a small waistline, lean legs and sculpted arms.
The looker, who added silver-framed sunglasses that matched her two silver necklaces, was also with her boyfriend Van Hunt as they cuddled while in their seaside hut.
And she shared a look at a letter one of her two children gave to her during the summer break abroad.
Julianne Moore wrote, 'Happy birthday beautiful,' while Berry's Catwoman costar hit the like button.
Justice was trying to explain why he 'decided to leave' her after being married in the nineties.
Berry was wed to David Justice for four years, from 1993 to 1997.
Justice, a former baseball outfielder, said that he ended their marriage because she was not as 'motherly' as he had expected.
The MLB star said on the All the Smoke podcast with co-host Matt Barnes while reflecting on how his private life became highly publicized because of his past romance with the Catwoman star.
On the recent podcast episode, he admitted that he used to think: 'If we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with? And at that time, as a young guy, she don't cook, don't clean, don't really seem, like, motherly.'
He said that eventually he 'realized this isn't the person I wanted to spend my life with' but added that he later began to understand that the marriage could have been saved if he 'knew about therapy.'
However, his comments still sparked outrage as Berry's fans appeared to be appalled that he once wanted her to take on a stereotypical housewife role amid her busy acting job as her career in entertainment was taking off at the time.
'It's just that I, because I was young, had only been in honestly one real relationship before her. My knowledge and my understanding and my wisdom around relationships just wasn't vast.'
Many fans slammed Justice, a three-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series winner who played with the Atlanta Braves and the New York Yankees during his 14 seasons in the league, for the 'audacity' of wanting the Oscar-winning actress to 'cook and clean.'
Red wine was also part of the equation as she balanced a glass in her toes
'Motherly? She was his partner, not his mom,' one social media user wrote on X as a slew of fans came to Berry's defense when Justice's comments went viral online.
'Imagine expecting Halle Berry, the first Black actress to earn $20m for a movie, the #1 most desirable woman in the world for decades, the first Black woman to win an Oscar, to stay home to cook and clean. Men and audacity,' another person tweeted.
'David Justice tryna make HALLE BERRY cook & clean is CRAZY work. TF was he thinkin,' a fan added alongside a GIF expressing their dismay.
'Halle Berry, a household name, was supposed to take time away from her breadwinning career to 'cook and clean' for a man I've never heard of?! LMAOOOO!
'According to their net worths, he needed to be the one throwing the apron on and cleaning the house too,' one person wrote about the MLB star and the famed actress.
Another person tweeted: 'David really expected THEE Halle Berry in her prime to be a stay at home housewife. Talk about an all-time fumble for Mr. Justice.'
One person tweeted a laughing emoji and wrote: 'David Justice dead a** married Halle Berry and wanted her to fold clothes. Catwoman pushing a vacuum?'
Another fan tweeted: 'David's Justice comment about Halle Berry says more about his preferences than her worth. Plenty of great moms don't fit the "cook, clean, motherly" stereotype. Sometimes it's just a mismatch, not a measure of value.'
At the time of publication, Berry has not yet responded to his public comments from the recent podcast appearance.
In the same episode, Justice also said that he was upset with his ex-wife for not clarifying that he was not the ex she had that once physically abused her.
He also conceded that he deeply hurt her by leaving her suddenly rather than 'massaging' it or seeking 'therapy' in an attempt to mend their relationship.
Back in 1996, Berry told People that she had an abusive, unnamed ex, who once struck her in the head and ended up puncturing her eardrum, causing her to suffer from hearing loss.
'She let the world think it was me,' Justice said in the podcast episode. 'I thought she was dead wrong for that.'
He later added about their marriage, reflecting on their split decades later: 'I look back on that situation, and I'm like, that girl really did love me.'
'And I can see why she would be so mad at me. Because imagine if you really love somebody and they tell you they want to break up, and there's nothing you can say to get them back. That had to have been tough on her.
'I didn't ease out,' he added before explaining that he was just 'gone' and 'could have massaged that better.'
Justice has been married to wife Rebecca Justice for 24 years and shares two children with her; meanwhile, Berry has been in a long-term relationship with Van Hunt for five years.
She was previously married to Oliver Martinez from 2013 to 2016 and also to her first husband Eric Benet from 2001 to 2005.
She is a mother to two children — daughter Nahla, 17, whose dad is Gabriel Aubry, and son Maceo, 11, with Martinez.

Young Celtic fan parties with BSC Young Boys in Switzerland after sweet viral clip in Glasgow
Footage captured the moment Joshua McLaughlin interacted with BSC Young Boys fans at Celtic Park earlier this year, a special relationship which has continued. A young Celtic fan has partied with BSC Young Boys in Switzerland after footage captured him meeting their fans in Glasgow earlier this year. The viral clip showed eight-year-old Joshua McLaughlin and his dad walking over to applaud the away fans after being blown away by the atmosphere they created at the crunch Champions League game fixture in January. The supporters took Joshua to their hearts and he has now visited Switzerland twice in recent months. Following the game at Celtic Park, Joshua's dad, Kevin, wanted to buy his son a BSC Young Boys jersey but when he contacted the club the pair were invited over for a match. They enjoyed an all expenses paid trip to Switzerland in April, where the Elderslie youngster was asked to be the club mascot for the day as the Swiss outfit played Yverdon Sport FC. Joshua begged his dad to go over again during the school holidays and they were given an unbelievable reception from the locals last weekend. Speaking to the Record, Kevin, 53, explained how his son struck up a close friendship with local lads Jonas Boss and Giuliano Matturro in April and was desperate to go back over for a game this summer. Kevin arranged a trip to take in BSC Young Boy's match against FC Sion on Sunday, August 10. At the match, goalkeeper Marvin Keller and defender Jaouen Hadjam even noticed Joshua and came over and spent some time with him. Kevin said: "I tried to keep it as low key as possible, but the day before the game I posted a picture on Instagram and the club shared it and hundreds of Swiss people started following me. "So many people inside the stadium seemed to recognise us and the attention was so overwhelming. "We went out for dinner that night and the guy who owned the restaurant refused to let us pay for our meal. "It was the same when we visited the country earlier this year, the Swiss fans have just been absolutely amazing throughout and Joshua is stopped all the time and asked for selfies. "It has all been such a whirlwind of emotions and came off the back of the one incident inside Celtic Park." Kevin explained he had never seen such a noisy and colourful away support in all his years following Celtic during the January game. He said from the moment they stepped inside the stadium that night Joshua was completely fascinated. "By that point all of the home fans were away so we must have stood out as we walked over to be near them. "The fans started doing that thing you see in the video where they sort of hum and put out their hands. "Joshua walked over and they let off two huge roars and applauded him. "It was such a special moment for us both and I was bursting with pride." Kevin uploaded his video on social media before going to bed that night and woke up to find it had gone viral. The dad was inundated with messages from supporters of the Swiss club. He said their lives haven't been the same since and the club are going to be a fixture in their lives going forward. Kevin added: "I don't know where it will go from here but it has been a wonderful journey so far. "BSC Young Boys are definitely our second club now and Joshua has absolutely fallen in love with them." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Andy Carroll and Lou Teasdale's 'final straw' which led to very public split
Andy Carroll, the former England footballer, and girlfriend Lou Teasdale split recently having had a 14-month relationship after meeting at Glastonbury in June 2024 One of the "final straws" which led to Andy Carroll's split with Lou Teasdale was a huge row at Glastonbury, it is reported. It is said Lou, 41, packed her things and left the festival early in June following the bust-up, thought to have been the latest in a string of arguments. Andy and Lou had gone to Worthy Farm for a weekend away to celebrate their one-year anniversary, having met at Glastonbury in 2024. But Lou "could take no more" and left the festival without her 36-year-old partner, who was a footballer for Newcastle United, Liverpool and West Ham United among other teams. Their split emerged this week, with it now understood Lou ended the relationship rather than Andy. Sources close to the couple understand the row at Glastonbury ultimately led to the breakup. One friend of Lou's said: "They've been on the brink for weeks. Lou left Glastonbury early after yet another bust-up. It got so bad that she decided to leave - it was quite a major milestone. It was supposed to be a happy weekend away, but it instead it was awful." Lou, a make-up artist, is thought to be "very upset" over how the split has "played out" and the "arguments" between them had been "especially difficult" for her. Andy has reportedly tried to reconcile but it is believed Lou is not interested in this. "She left without him because she could take no more... But in the end it was how things were between them: they'd argue, make up, argue again - one of those relationships," Lou's friend told Mail Online. But sharing a screenshot of what she suggested was misinformation in the media on her Instagram Stories yesterday, mum-of-one Lou told her 5.7 million followers: "My friends love Andy." Earlier this week, it appeared Andy was no longer following Lou on Instagram and insiders claimed the former Liverpool and England striker had blocked his girlfriend of one year on the platform. But an insider previously revealed to the media: "It was Lou who ended her relationship with Andy, she walked away a few days ago, it was very much her choice to end their romance." They stated that she isn't interested in "pointing the finger" or "blaming" Andy, and had hoped to handle their split privately. Andy, who played nine times for England between 2010 and 2012, split with reality TV star Billi Mucklow last year. They tied the knot in 2022 having, by then, had two children together. Andy, who is a striker, signed for non-league club Dagenham & Redbridge in the summer.
