Fenerbahce Boss Jose Mourinho Tears Up At Presser Following Jorge Costa Demise
Costa was the skipper of Mourinho's Porto side that clinched the UCL title in 2003/04, and the Portuguese manager couldn't hold back tears following the tragic news.
Fenerbahce head coach Jose Mourinho paid a touching tribute to the late Jorge Costa, the Porto legend who breathed his last on Tuesday. Costa has passed away aged 53 after suffering a cardiac arrest at the team's training ground, Porto announced.
Costa was the skipper of the Porto side that clinched the UEFA Champions League title in the 2003/04 season under the stewardship of Mourinho, and the Portuguese manager couldn't hold back tears while addressing the media following the tragic news of his former player.

'Its part of my history that goes," said a tearful Mourinho.
Mourinho also opened up on an instance Costa demonstrated his leadership abilities, which he fondly remembers, and serves as a testament to the kind of captain Costa was.
'One day, we were losing a match against a team called Belenenses, we were down 2-0 at halftime. I was walking to the locker room, and everyone saw I was furious," Mourinho said.
'When I was about to enter, Jorge Costa told me, 'Wait outside for two minutes, please.' He went in, closed the door, and did the dirty work for me. Then he opened the door and said, 'Coach us.' Because in the locker room, he did everything I would have done," he continued.
'We won 3-2. He was a center-back, had never scored goals in his life; that day, he scored two. Captain and leader are very different things. You can't buy leaders. You can't manufacture leaders. And when you have them, your team is one step ahead," he said.
Mourinho also took to social media platform Instagram to share his distraught with the passing of the Portuguese defender.

Costa spent most of his playing career with the club, securing eight league titles and the Champions League in 2004 under Jose Mourinho. He made 50 appearances for the Portuguese national team.
He was part of the golden generation of Portuguese players who won the 1991 Under-20 World Cup, alongside Luis Figo.
Following his retirement, Costa transitioned into management, leading several clubs including SC Braga, Paços Ferreira, CFR Cluj, AEL Limassol, Anorthosis Famagusta, and Mumbai City FC.
