Truth behind Our Yorkshire Farm Amanda Owen's struggles as fans raise concern after TV appearance
Amanda Owen, 50, quickly captivated TV audiences when she first graced our screens seven years ago - but despite how well she manages to balance her work on the farm with taking care of her nine children - rarely with a hair out of place - things haven't always been easy for her over the last few years.
Amanda first met her husband Clive, 69, when she was only 21 years old and training to work as a shepherdess - her natural good looks and height meant she first tried her hand at modelling, but didn't enjoy the career whatsoever. The pair quickly formed a romance, although there is a large age gap between them. Clive is 19 years older than Amanda and already had been married, divorced and had two children when they first met.
Their life together on Ravenseat Farm captured the attention of the public and their show swiftly became a big hit for Channel Five, but despite their professional successes, the couple were struggling behind closed doors and announced they had separated in 2022.
Clive and Amanda are coming back together for a new series of their spinoff show - Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids - but on a recent TV appearance the Yorkshire Shepherdess took part in left some fans concerned about how she is doing.
Amanda appeared on Lorraine and discussed her relationship with Clive, candidly admitting that "it's not all sunshine".
"It's about moving forward. We've got plenty to amuse ourselves. There's space," she said. There's room to get away from each other, if we're being absolutely brutally honest here.
"If we got on like a house on fire we wouldn't be separate would we? But the fact of the matter is, we've got nine children, I think people think we lose track of the fact we do reality, reality comes with its ups and downs."
Amanda continued: 'It's not all sunshine and spring time. That's the reality, the reality is, we are just getting on with our lives and making it up as we go along."
Some of her fans were quick to voice their worries about Amanda on social media, per the Mail Online, with one writing: "'Is Amanda ok? Something doesn't seem right" and many others pointing out that in their opinion the popular TV star didn't seem very well or her usual self.
Despite her popularity, life in the limelight is never completely easy - and when details about Amanda's relationship with another man, who had worked as her web designer, came to light in 2023 her personal life was put under new scrutiny.
Robert Davis, 71, was married to someone else during his relationship with Amanda - Yasumi, 56. When his wife found about their romance she was left devastated, and has been candid publicly about her thoughts on Amanda, who she accused in an interview with The Sun of "not caring" about the damage she had done to their 12 year long marriage and living a "double life".
"He rang Amanda in front of me and told her I knew about their affair and that it was over," investment banker Yasumi said.
"He said they'd been having an affair for a few years. But instead of acknowledging the pain I was suffering, he was more concerned about protecting her TV career. She didn't care how I felt and didn't show any compassion.
"I'd watched Our Yorkshire Farm and couldn't help but be impressed by her. She portrayed herself as a wife and a mother, devoted to family, hard-working and an inspiration to others.
"But she's been lying to the British public and living a double life."
However, Amanda has insisted that her web designer boyfriend - who she has since reportedly split up with - was never a secret from her husband and that Clive was actually the one who suggested they would hit it off.
"'I never set out looking for another relationship. Rob [Davies] was a friend that Clive and I had both known for a long time. He put together the farm website and the digital aspect of the business, everything that we couldn't do.
"What he offered was conversation rather than confrontation, and Clive knew about it from the very beginning – he actually suggested Rob and I would be a good match," she told the Mail Online in 2023, adding: "At that point, a few years ago now, Clive was also seeing someone else and was openly dating. It wasn't a secret, everyone roundabout knew, even the children."
For his part, Clive said he didn't blame anyone for the breakdown of his marriage but himself, explaining his "anger drove Amanda away" and that the couple were engaged in regular arguments.
He also admitted that he had been enduring a period of depression, which led to him drinking too much and that he was envious of Amanda's popularity and professional success.

Prince Harry's wreath laying was a shameless STUNT to upstage cancer-hit Kate & Wills on VJ Day, royal expert says
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCE Harry has been slammed for his wreath "PR stunt" on VJ Day, with a royal expert saying Phillip would have hated it. Royal commentator and journalist Robert Jobson told The Sun's Royal Exclusive show that a lot of people respect Harry for his own service and he didn't need the "stunt". Bottom line is, if you didn't want it to be a PR stunt, just leave it there. "Somebody would see it. It would get passed to the press eventually. "It was a little bit too slick. It was part of Operation Rebuild Harry. "The King was there. It was incredibly emotional. You could see the tears in Camilla's eyes. "It was the King's day. The Prince and Princess of Wales absolutely should have been there." Our Royal Editor replied: "A cynic might argue that Prince Harry maybe saw that as an opportunity to leave a letter there." Robert continued: "Yes. A lot of people respected Harry for the Invictus Games, for his own service. "You don't need to do stunts. I can almost hear the derision coming out of the Duke of Edinburgh's mouth. "The Duke was a serviceman. It wasn't about himself. "Harry was advised by his father to think very carefully about what he does. You make your bed, you lie in it." William & Kate move to 8-bed 'forever home' as they plan 'fresh start' after cancer diagnosis The Duke of Sussex, 40, paid a heartfelt tribute to Prince Philip in a note left at the National Memorial Arboretum on the 80th anniversary of VJ Day. The father-of-two trusted one of his pals to place it down alongside a wreath of red poppies at the Burma Star Memorial in Staffordshire on Friday. Previously he had not been allowed to lay a wreath at the cenotaph. As reported by GB News, the note was left after King Charles and Queen Camila paid their respects. VJ Day, commemorated annually on August 15, marks the anniversary of Japan's surrender to the Allies after the atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Harry, who did not attend but stayed at his home in California, wrote: "For me, this anniversary carries an added layer of meaning. "My late grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, served in the Pacific campaign. "He spoke with quiet humility about those years, but I know how deeply he respected all who stood beside him in that theatre of war. "Today, as I think of him, I think also of each of you, of the shared hardships, the bonds forged, and the legacy you leave." 9 Jobson said Will and Kate "absolutely should have been there" Credit: PA 9 Harry was previously not allowed to lay a wreath at the cenotaph Credit: Getty Prince Philip was in Tokyo Bay on the destroyer HMS Whelp, a warship he served on as second-in-command, when Japanese officials formally signed the surrender on the USS Missouri. King Charles did not mention his father's experience during his audio address to the nation on Friday morning. However he remembered his great uncle Earl Mountbatten, who was the Supreme Allied Commander South East Asia Command. Harry's letter, which was addressed to the "Forgotten Army", read: "On this 80th anniversary of VJ Day, we pause to remember the day the guns finally fell silent across the world, the true end of the Second World War. "We also pause to recognise you, the men and women of the 'Forgotten Army,' whose courage and endurance in the Far East campaign were anything but forgettable. "You faced an enemy determined to the last, fought in unforgiving terrain, and endured months, even years, far from home, in conditions most could scarcely imagine. "Your service in the jungles and mountains of Burma and beyond was marked by grit, unity, and sacrifice. "It is because of that sacrifice that generations since, myself included, have been able to live in freedom. "From the lessons of that bitter struggle came the understanding that even the fiercest of foes can, in time, become valued partners in peace. "Today, as both our nations mark this anniversary, we acknowledge the respect earned, the lives lost and the enduring friendship that has since taken root." The duke added: "I am humbled by your example, proud of your service and dedication, and profoundly grateful for what you endured. "Your story is part of our shared heritage, and it must never be forgotten. With the deepest respect, thank you." The letter was signed "Harry", Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. Harry was reportedly left saddened in 2020 when he was not allowed to leave a wreath on Remembrance Sunday in the wake of Megxit. And just months later he was stripped of his military patronages by his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II after his decision to step down as a senior working royal. 9 The Duke of Sussex paid tribute to his late grandfather Credit: Getty 9 Prince Philip passed away in 2021 aged 99 Credit: PA

Katie Price 'won't remain silent' as she makes vow ahead of latest podcast episode
Former glamour model Katie Price has found herself embroiled in a controversy after her ex-husband Alex Reid leaked a video of her counting wads of cash amid her bankruptcy Katie Price 's close friends have reportedly said that the former glamour model is adamant about not 'remaining silent' after her ex-husband Alex Reid leaked a video of her counting wads of cash amid her bankruptcy. In the video which was leaked a number of days ago on social media, the mum-of-five, 47, is seen lounging on the couch as she was "enjoying counting" the pile of money in front of her, saying: "There's loads here.. I'm just sorting it out." The reality TV star, who was bankrupted twice over debts totalling more than £3m, was asked by daughter Princess if she would help pay her school fees and those of her second child with ex-husband Peter Andre. Price responded: "Your dad can sit on that' before lifting a middle finger. It comes after Peter Andre's wife Emily reacts to 'cruel' Katie Price swipe in the bombshell video. Wearing white jodhpurs and sat next to a Christmas tree, she continued: 'Does he go on about it a lot? Well it's tough because I'm in bankruptcy to next May now." Katie also refers to a property - 'my London flat' - which fans believe is the property allocated to Peter Andre as part of their divorce settlement. The footage was shared this week by Price's ex, former Big Brother star Reid, who said in a statement that 'the truth will now be heard'. The Mirror understands that the one minute and 38 second video, believed to have been filmed in late 2020, has been sent to Price's bankruptcy trustee who continues to 'seek realisations from various third parties'. Following the release of the video, Katie released a statement, explaining that the cash in the video didn't belong to the Mucky Mansion star. A representative for the star said: "This is a video that was shared with Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy several months ago and Katie has fully complied with the Trustee's investigations into the same. The cash featured did not belong to Katie and the property referred to was dealt with in the financial settlement proceedings arising out of Katie's divorce from Peter Andre. "Katie's Trustee in Bankruptcy is aware of the property and has undoubtedly investigated whether the same ought to be comprised in the bankruptcy estate." Following the now viral leaked video, Katie's close friends have said that they are surprised at how calm she is taking the whole controversy, and she isn't letting it get her down as she continues to pour herself into her work. While many others may shy away from speaking out publicly, Katie is set to continue to voice her truth as her latest podcast episode is still going ahead on Thursday - as it does every week. The former glamour model, who hosts The Katie Price show with her sister Sophie, is going full steam ahead as usual - a move which her pals think will frustrate Reid even further. Insiders told The Sun: "We're all really surprised by how calm she has been, as Alex's latest stunt would send most people into a very dark place. This isn't the first time Kate's ex husbands and partners have ganged up on her, but the last time it happened, it drove her over the edge and we were all seriously worried about her. This time around though, she is in a completely different place." "Her feeling is, if Alex Reid wants to create a drama to get himself some attention, then good for him. She is refusing to stoop to his level by coming out all guns blazing as she has in the past. That's what the old Katie would have done, but this time around Katie is in no rush to publicly comment on this latest attempt to bring her down," the source added. The insiders went on to claim that Katie 'will have her say' at some point, adding that 'you can't silence or keep the Pricey down'. Katie's podcast drop will go ahead tomorrow, but she won't be mentioning the drama surrounding the leaked video because it was recorded before it surfaced on social media. However, her pals have said that even if it had been recorded afterwards, it would not have silenced her. "She recorded this week's upcoming episode on Monday, before Alex dropped the video, but even if she had known about the video then, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of talking about him publicly at the moment," they added. The former glamour model was bankrupted twice, first in 2019 over debts totalling £3.5m, including £970,639 to HMRC and then again last March over a second £761,994 unpaid HMRC demand for money earned while she was already bankrupt. Creditors include Alex Reid who is owed £175,000 in High Court damages and costs he was awarded after she revealed a sex tape he says was filmed without his consent. Along with the leaked footage, Alex shared a statement saying he was "spearheading a campaign to expose the truth". He said: "Over the years you have seen countless stories by Katie Price directed at me, Peter, Keiran and others. Today I want to be clear. I am spearheading a campaign to expose the truth. "This isn't about gossip but about evidence. It's not about rumour, it's about reality. After years of silence, the time has finally come to reveal all."

Christine McGuinness teases Celebs Go Dating return just hours after tearful exit
Christine McGuinness was seen quitting Celebs Go Dating in emotional scenes that aired last night as she confessed she missed her children and wanted to go home, but now the celeb has hinted a return might be in the cards Christine McGuinness has left fans stunned after hinting she could return to Celebs Go Dating after breaking down in tears and quitting the show. The 37-year-old model and TV star made the emotional decision to leave the Channel 4 series during Tuesday night's episode of the show. In heartbreaking scenes, Christine told viewers she just 'wanted to go home' and confessed she would rather meet someone in a more 'natural environment' away from the cameras. She told the agency's dating experts Anna Williamson and Paul C Brunson: "Well, I've been thinking quite a lot whilst we've been in Ibiza and I think I need to date in more of a natural environment. I think I just would love to meet somebody and date more privately. "It's where I'm kind of feeling myself going back, when I want to go freely forward. Right. And I've made the decision to leave the agency." Christine, who split from comedian Paddy McGuinness in 2022 after 15 years together, became emotional as she revealed she missed her three children too much to continue. Fighting back tears, she said: 'I've been missing the kids loads this week. I think all the love I need right now is waiting for me at home.' But less than 12 hours after the episode aired, Christine surprised fans by hinting that her journey on the show wasn't over. She teased a possible comeback on Instagram after thanking viewers for their support, writing: 'Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has sent messages of love and understanding. To the agents, the incredible cast, and every member of the team behind the scenes. And to all of you watching at home, your kindness has been a true comfort.' She added: 'I am so proud that I went for it and even more proud that I chose my wellbeing when I felt it was all too much for me to continue. 'Checking in with myself and honouring how I was truly feeling wasn't easy, but it brought me back to where I needed to be – with my babies and those precious cuddles. Their healing, happy power is everything. Blessed beyond words.' Then came the bombshell hint that she could reappear later this series, as Christine ended her post with: '@celebsgodating – To be continued.' According to industry insiders, Christine's return has already been filmed and will air in the finale. A source told The Sun: 'Christine's return was kept top secret from everyone, so they were all so excited to see her come back. 'The cast were really sad when she quit the show, even though they totally supported and understood her reasons, so it was great to see her come back. She started the journey with them all, so it was the perfect end that she got to finish the series with them too.' Dating coach Anna Williamson also praised Christine's decision to leave when she did, calling it 'brave' and 'empowering'. Anna told the Mirror: 'Every moment really does count when you're in the agency, and in real time we had Christine with us for a good couple of weeks. She worked on herself, and sometimes you only realise halfway through the process that it's not the right time. That's what happened with Christine, and we absolutely applauded her for recognising that.'
