CM Punk returns, faces Seth Rollins
As expected, the show started with Punk marking his return to the WWE roster. Punk did not waste any time and straight away targeted Paul Heyman for betraying him at the major event last month.
Soon after, Heyman marked his entry to the ring and was joined by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. After a few verbal attacks, Rollins fired back at Punk. But Punk ensured that Rollins will 'never be champion" till the time he stands in the ring. Thereafter, things turned physical as Rollins and Breakker started attacking Punk, before he was joined by Sami Zayn. Jey Uso also marked his presence to attack Rollins and his partners.
Live Events
Penta vs Chad Gable
Penta faced the Mexican Destroyer for a singles match on Raw this week. Both the challengers showed off impressive in-ring action, before Penta took the upper hand as he hit Gable off the middle rope.
This was followed by a pinfall that ended the game in Penta's favour.
The Creed Brothers defeat The War Raiders
This tag team match saw The Creed Brothers taking on The War Raiders, while The New Day, the current World Tag Team Champions, sat on ring side and provided guest commentary.
Amid Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods' interference, Brutus Creed was able to take advantage in the game and managed to secure a win for his team.
Gunther, Jey Uso face off
Jey Uso marked his entry and got interrupted by former champion Gunther.
The Ring General then informed Uso and the WWE universe that Raw general manager Adam Pearce has granted him a title shot. This means that the winner from the Jey Uso vs Logan Paul match from WWE Saturday Night Main Event will be facing Gunther on the June 9 episode of Raw.
Tribute to Sabu
To pay homage to late Sabu, WWE aired a video package, while Michael Cole remembered him as the famed rival of his longtime friend Taz. Even Pat McAfee stated that he considered himself lucky to have witnessed the ECW era.
AJ Styles vs Finn Balor
The former Bullet Club leaders took on each other in a major showdown. One of the brilliant matches of the night, it saw The Judgment Day members trying to interfere, but Penta did not allow them to do the same.
In the end, Styles hit Balor with the 'Phenomenal Forearm' and was declared the winner.
Becky Lynch's segment
Becky Lynch also marked her entry in the ring as she reminded WWE fans about how Lyra Valkyria was taken to hospital after their match at Backlash. Lynch then criticised the audience for allegedly turning their back on her once she got success.
Ripley and Sky beat down Giulia and Perez
The main event of the Monday Night Raw was the phenomenal tag team match between the four superstars from WWE's women division. In the end, Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley were comfortably able to defeat Roxanne Perez and Giulia.
