The star has played Kim Tate on and off since 1989, before quitting in 1999 and then making a bombshell comeback in 2018.
Kim quickly re-established herself in the village as owner of Home Farm and has had some hugely dramatic storylines since returning.
And this year will be no different with a massive one kicking off soon.
A source said: 'Bosses love Claire and they are delighted that she's going nowhere.
'Kim Tate is one of the soap all time greats and it's only right that she has a massive storyline.
'It's going to delve into who Kim is and where she's come from and see her rediscover that grit that made her Kim Tate.
'She's going to stop at nothing to get what she wants - and make a few more enemies in the process as well as potentially changing the village forever."
Viewers watched today as Kim suffered a blow when she discovered her new man Eddie was in fact the villainous Dr Crowley.
He was blackmailing Joe Tate into stealing Kim's money for himself - and had planned to drug her into paralysis and take her assets.
However when he tried to put his plan into place, Kim outwitted him and sent him packing - potentially for good.
Emmerdale villain returns to torture Joe Tate in grisly scenes
She told him: 'If you even try to mess with us again, they'll never find your body. Nothing personal, it's purely business.'
An Emmerdale spokeswoman declined to comment.
First appearing in 1989, Kim Tate (Claire King) is an iconic Emmerdale character. Here's a look at some of her biggest storylines over the years.
MARRIAGE TO FRANK TATE
Kim has been married three times in the soap, but her first, volatile pairing was with Frank Tate (Norman Bowler)
They were an on-screen partnership for almost a decade - including divorcing and remarrying.
However, Frank ultimately suffered a fatal heart attack, brought on by Kim's return to the village after being presumed dead.
During the marriage, Kim had affairs with Neil Kincaid (Brian Deacon) and Dave Glover (Ian Kelsey).
FAKING HER OWN DEATH
Kim disappeared from the village in February 1997. A few days later, Frank identified a woman found dead at the wheel of her car as Kim.
However, everyone was in for a shock after Kim revealed she was still alive - and the full extent of her plan.
While she'd fled to the Caribbean, Kim had paid a lookalike prostitute to drive her car around the village to fool people into thinking she was still there. It was, in fact, her body that Frank previously identified.
JAMES' KIDNAPPING
Kim's business partnership with Lord Alex Oakwell (Rupam Maxwell), resulted in the death of Linda Fowler (Tonicha Jeronimo), in a car crash.
As an act of revenge, Linda's mother Jan (Roberta Kerr) kidnapped Kim's son James.
DEPARTURE
After a decade of causing chaos, Kim left Emmerdale in 1999 as she fled in a helicopter with her son James and £190,000 of Chris Tate's money.
LATER MARRIAGES
Upon Kim's return in 2018, she was first revealed to be married to Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).
However, he was later killed off in a whodunnit storyline.
She later pursued a relationship with her employee Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), marrying him in 2022.

Hollywood A-lister is unrecognizable at 77 after reunion with fan favorite co-star... can you guess who he is?
A Hollywood A-lister who has become a national treasure was unrecognizable when he was glimpsed grocery shopping in New York City this week. The 77-year-old shot to fame as a pioneering gay character on a 1970s sitcom, then made his movie debut in a flop directed by a legendary stand-up comic. In the 1980s, he starred on one of the most famous TV shows of all time and established himself as a leading man in a string of beloved big screen comedies. Down the decades, his film roles have ranged from the sidekick in a hit animated children's franchise to a supporting character from Shakespeare. Earlier this year, he enjoyed an onstage reunion with a fan-favorite co-star of his while presenting at an awards show he previously hosted. Can you guess who he is? He is none other than Billy Crystal, who presented best picture at this year's Oscars with Meg Ryan, his leading lady in the 1989 romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally.... Billy got his start as a stand-up comic in 1970s New York and even filmed a sketch for the inaugural episode of what became Saturday Night Live in 1975, though his contribution wound up on the cutting room floor. His ship came in when he landed the role of Jodie Dallas on the sitcom Soap in 1977, playing one of the first openly gay regular characters on an American TV show. One year later, he made his movie debut as a pregnant man in Rabbit Test, a wacky comedy that turned out to be the only film ever directed by Joan Rivers. Although Rabbit Test flopped, his career went from strength to strength as his own stardom grew thanks to his work as a stand-up comic. He hosted Saturday Night Live twice in 1984 and wound up a regular member of the cast that year, but his individual fame soon took him to greater heights that eclipsed his notoriety from the show. In 1987 he had a memorable supporting role in The Princess Bride, and acted with Danny DeVito in the latter's directorial debut Throw Momma from the Train. Two years later he become a bona fide Hollywood leading man by playing opposite Meg Ryan in the blockbuster romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally..., directed by Rob Reiner from a screenplay by Nora Ephron. He is none other than Billy Crystal, who presented best picture at the Oscars this year with Meg Ryan, his leading lady in the 1989 romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally.... His successful movie career continued through the 1990s with comedies like City Slickers and Father's Day, and even a cameo as one of the gravediggers in the Kenneth Branagh film adaptation of Hamlet. During that decade, he also directed himself in the dramedy Mr. Saturday Night about a stand-up comic and the romantic comedy Forget Paris opposite Debra Winger. Also during the 1990s, he began his celebrated run as host of the Oscars, a position he filled nine times between 1990 and his final run in 2012. In the 2000s he reached a new generation of fans as the voice of Mike, the second banana to John Goodman's Sulley in Pixar's Monsters, Inc. franchise. Billy has continued working in recent years, adapting Mr. Saturday Night into a Broadway musical that he starred in himself in 2022. He and Meg delighted fans by appearing side by side at the Oscars this year, presenting best picture to Sean Baker's comedy Anora.

The couple earning 6 figures from being trolled: Obese actor who dared to marry a 'beautiful' size 6 influencer says people hate seeing a 'fat man have what they can't' - but is now facing more abuse for taking Mounjaro
An obese actor who found love with a size six influencer has faced years of trolling online by viewers who believe he 'must be rich' to have married a beautiful, slim woman. With their most popular videos racking up millions of views, swathes of internet users have accused George and Sienna Keywood of being 'fake' and 'fame hungry' - and have questioned the legitimacy of their relationship. George has branded critics 'jealous' of seeing a fat man who 'has what they can't', but even after seven years together and the birth of their son, it has not silenced critics who are now branding him 'lazy' for taking Mounjaro to lose weight. The couple's love story began with Australia-born Sienna spotting the actor, 31, on television in his role as Craig in the Bafta award-winning British sitcom People Just Do Nothing. 'Back when I was living in Australia, I was watching People Just Do Nothing and I was like "That is my ideal man, he's so hot!" I ended up Googling him,' she recalled. In true modern style, Sienna, a former PT whose passion is singing, sent George a message on social media expressing her interest, to which George's initial reaction was: 'Hmmm is this a scam?' From that point, their relationship blossomed as any other. The pair met for a date and 'clicked straight away', describing their immediate attraction to one another. 'What connected us was that we were both so alike,' George recalled. 'We're both creative. We got on, and that chemistry was already there before we even met in real life.' 'It was like true love,' Sienna agreed. 'It sounds so corny but when you know, you know.' The couple fell in love in 2018 and got married in 2022. Now, they share a five-year-old son called Oliver and have moved into their dream five-bedroom home in Surrey. But still, viewers aren't convinced. George faces a whirlwind of insults online, having been called a 'beached whale' and told he is 'lazy' and 'disgusting' for his size, with viewers regularly taking stabs at predicting when he will die. 'People just can't get over the fact that I'm fat and she's skinny,' said George, who puts the public's disdain down to pure jealousy. 'They see my wife and think "Wow, she's very attractive. Why can't I have that?" 'I've dealt with it for years. They hate the fact that a fat man can have more than them, they hate the fact that I can have this and they hate the fact that she's attracted to this.' According to George, Sienna is attracted to him because he's a 'bigger' man. 'That's her attraction,' he said. 'And I'm into her because she's a slim, beautiful, lovely-looking woman.' The couple are unconventional in other ways. As part of their many lucrative projects, they share an account on OnlyFans - a subscription-based pornographic site where users can make money by uploading adult content. Starring in adult videos together, the couple charge $15 a month for a glimpse into their intimate life. George has been called a 'beached whale' and told he is 'lazy' and 'disgusting' for his size, with viewers regularly taking stabs at predicting when he will die (George after weight loss) Their activity on the site has added to the vitriol of hatred directed at the parents. But the couple feel they have profited from the negativity, with George saying: 'We afford this house and these cars because we make over six figures a year getting trolled.' George now funds his lifestyle in part through online sponsorships which see him endorse products in exchange for payment. Selling tech products and running livestreams on his account, George claims to have made as much as £30,000 a month through social media. He said: 'We've made so much more money from social media than we ever thought we would make.' Interestingly, though, the pair don't advertise their OnlyFans page on their social media channels. Although platforms such as TikTok and Instagram ban explicit promotion of OnlyFans accounts, members use 'funnels' by directing potential customers to an external link. And while Sienna's Instagram does have a link to the page, her social media image is that of a normal, loving mother with a young child. She has previously spoken online of her 'shame and embarrassment' about making money from social media, television appearances, magazine spreads and even getting her wedding paid for by a TV channel. Sienna has also previously questioned why bigger actors are never cast as romantic interests in love stories, while George joked he 'just wants to do a sex scene.' The couple seem comfortable in their chosen career path, but since the start of their relationship, George has rapidly gained weight. He reached a point where he had to pay for taxis everywhere due to his inability to walk long distances. When the father became pre-diabetic and was struggling to walk upstairs, he began taking the weight loss drug Mounjaro. Before turning to the jab, he was drinking up to five cans of Coca-Cola a day and often eating a full pizza and garlic bread in the evenings. In August, 2024, he started taking the medication from a private online pharmacy that offered it to him for free, and he has since lost up to two pounds a week. Now, six stone down, George's sugar cravings have gone and he only eats one main daily meal, often skipping breakfast entirely. George started taking weight loss jabs when he reached a point where he had to pay for taxis everywhere due to his inability to walk long distances (after weight loss) He said his food shop has seen 'less overspending on junk food' thanks to his lack of appetite and he no longer splashes out as much on taxis. But the content creator has received negativity online from critics who say he is 'cheating' by taking the medication. George and Sienna respond to hate comments in their typical, sarcastic way. Posing for a video, George claps back at critics who insist they 'can't see' any weight loss despite his claims. 'No weight loss? Are you insane?' George roars, before Sienna chimes in: 'He's wasting away at this point.' In another TikTok, George points to his still large belly and jokes: 'There's a six pack there - look at that.' The pair maintain that they choose willingly to 'embarrass themselves' online because it gives them the financial freedom to work non-conventional jobs and spend more time together. Sienna wrote: 'Yes, we may embarrass ourselves on the internet for a living, but it means we get to spend every school holiday with our son, send him to the best school and have the freedom to work when we choose to.' Their content's resounding message is that they love each other despite the backlash they get, and will remain committed to one another regardless of their appearance. Sienna said: 'The hate doesn't get to us. We love each other and nothing anyone says will change that. 'Our aim is to encourage people to accept themselves for who they are. Thank you to everyone who supports us and sends positive messages our way.'

Omaze launch desperate bid to save luxury features of £6m home won for just £10 from demolition
Omaze is fighting to avoid having to demolish parts of a £6million home won for just £10 in a prize draw by submitting a retrospective planning application for areas that were built without approval. The dream home was offered in a link-up with the BBC to raise funds for Comic Relief, with backing from stars including Davina McCall, Lenny Henry and Rylan Clark. But discrepancies between the approved development and what had been built emerged before the sweepstake closed and plans to announce the winner live on the night were shelved. The winner, former Miss Wales finalist Vicky Curtis-Cresswell, is yet to receive the keys while the legal wrangle rumbles on. Omaze has now submitted the application, revealing the extent of the problems at stunning Larkside in Blakeney on the trendy north Norfolk coast – billed as its biggest ever prize draw. The three-bedroom mansion is designed in the style of the exclusive homes found in The Hamptons area of Long Island. The company has asked North Norfolk District Council if it can keep a single-storey extension to the eastern wing, a four-bay garage, summerhouse, tennis court with 'associated enclosure and landscaping' and outdoor swimming pool. All of these could end up being razed to the ground if the local authority's planning officials and councillors refuse permission. A council spokesman confirmed the retrospective application from Omaze was received on Tuesday. He added: 'The application is currently in the process of being validated. Once validated, all the relevant documents will be available to view on the public portal. 'If valid upon receipt, it is expected to appear on the portal as early as next week but will be longer if there are further requirements.' Local residents and other relevant local authorities will be able to comment formally once the plans are made available publicly. They will then be voted on by the council's planning committee at a later date. The council launched a probe in February – a month before Red Nose Day - after an eagle-eyed member of the public spotted potential issues with the property, which was built in 2020. If retrospective planning permission was not granted for the areas under scrutiny, Omaze could appeal to the Planning Inspectorate. Ms Curtis-Cresswell, 38, has revealed she plans to sell the mansion – although the planning breaches have delayed her plans and threaten to affect its value. When she won, she was looking for a rental home while living with her husband Dale, 41, and young daughter at her in-laws' three-bedroom house in Wales. Speaking at the time, the 2008 Miss Wales entrant said: 'It's crazy. One week, we're worrying about our old car breaking down, the next thing we've got a £6 million house.' A £250,000 cash prize came with the 5,000 sq ft house, which has access to a secluded pontoon and has £165,000 worth of furnishings. Letting agents estimates it could be rented out for £5,500 per month. North Norfolk District Council concluded earlier this year that the property had 'not been completed in accordance with the approved plans' after an investigation which including a visit from officers. Jamie Minors, managing director of local estate agents Minors and Brady, said then: 'This will massively affect the chance of sale, as some people will be put off and will not want to buy it. It could also affect the value. 'Selling it will definitely be more difficult and challenging, as solicitors will definitely advise against it.' However, he added the high-end property market also attracted wealthy people who would 'try and find a way to resolve any problem'. The kitchen at the imposing house, which was built in the style of architecture found in Cape Cod and the Hamptons, boasts integrated appliances, a US-style fridge and an island with seating for four people Dining al fresco - but the views could change if features including the pool, tennis court and single-storey extension on the east wing have to be removed Omaze, a for-profit company founded in the US, buys luxury properties for prize draws and gives at least 17 per cent of proceeds to charities. Larkfields raised more than £4.1 million for Comic Relief. A spokesman said: 'Omaze continues to work with North Norfolk District Council in relation to recommendations made regarding the property in Norfolk - and has submitted a retrospective planning application. 'Omaze reiterates that it guarantees no house winner would ever have to incur any costs whatsoever to remedy any historical planning issue. 'Omaze further guarantees that all house prizes are transferred to winners with good and marketable title.'
