Browns' Quinshon Judkins missing start of camp after arrest: Source
Judkins, who's yet to sign his rookie contract, was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on July 12 on charges of battery and domestic violence. He allegedly struck a woman with a closed fist on July 7, and the bruising was still visible to police when the woman reported the incident five days later, the police report said.

The Browns have had six of their seven draft picks signed since June. With the NFL continuing to investigate the incident and Judkins preparing his defense, the team is in no rush to finalize Judkins' contract or have him participate in football activities. The Browns' full-squad report date is July 22, with the first full training camp practice set for July 23.
Judkins was released from jail on a $2,500 bond on July 13, and earlier this week, he canceled a public meet-and-greet and a youth football camp he was scheduled to host in Cleveland. It's not yet known if the team will add another running back to its 90-man offseason roster, though the Browns figure to make a series of moves and designations in the coming days ahead of the start of full camp.
Judkins worked with the No. 1 and No. 2 offenses at various times during the spring. Cleveland drafted Judkins at No. 36 in April with the belief that he would fit its wide-zone run scheme and be a significant contributor during his rookie season. The NFL and the Browns have said little about Judkins' situation or playing status other than confirming that the league continues to investigate.
Jerome Ford opens camp as Cleveland's No. 1 running back. Ford, who's in the final year of his rookie contract, took a pay cut this spring to essentially guarantee his roster spot. The other veteran in the running back room is Pierre Strong Jr., who's also only signed through 2025 and has mostly been a special teams player.
Cleveland selected a second running back, Dylan Sampson, in the fourth round in April. The team also signed rookie Ahmani Marshall after the draft.
In other Browns-related legal news, linebacker Devin Bush had his formal arraignment Friday in Pennsylvania on charges of simple assault and harassment stemming from a May incident involving Bush and his girlfriend. A pre-trial hearing for Bush has been set for August 15.

Bush, who signed a new one-year deal with Cleveland in March after starting 10 games last season, continued to participate in the team's offseason program after his arrest.
Last August, Browns defensive tackle and 2024 second-round pick Mike Hall Jr. was arrested on a domestic violence charge. Hall practiced the next day and continued to participate in team activities until the end of the preseason, when he was placed on the commissioner's exempt list.
Hall pleaded no contest to his charges last September and ultimately received a five-game NFL suspension that included time he'd already missed.

NBA legend says Mavericks' Cooper Flagg is 'above rookie curve'
To absolutely nobody's surprise, the Dallas Mavericks drafted Cooper Flagg with the number one overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. And how could they not have? Flagg was the projected no. 1 pick across the board after just a single season with the Duke Blue Devils, and even been called the top American prospect in basketball since his current teammate, Anthony Davis, was drafted back in 2012. And his skill at such a young age is shocking NBA legends, including Shaquille O'Neal, who has been very vocal in his praise for Flagg and his game. In an interview with DJ Siddiqi of RG, the NBA Hall of Famer continued his praise, saying Flagg was above the curve that most people set for rookies in the game today, especially young ones like Flagg that are barely out of high school. "In his highlights, he looks phenomenal, O'Neal said. "You must realize he's an 18-year-old kid. You can't put too much pressure on him. From my experience, you get two years before people really start staying it's time to win, but I think he's way above that 18-year-old curve." "Shaq" also praised the Dallas fan base, saying that Flagg will be treated well where he is, due to the controversy the team has been a part of over the past few months, and compared him to another Mavs legend. "This fan base is definitely going to treat him well through the ups and downs, because we celebrate Dirk Nowitzki," said O'Neal. "I remember Dirk when he first came in. He was not Dirk, he turned into Dirk. But the Dallas fans have always been great. Cooper Flagg is playing for a great organization, great town, great fan base. He'll be absolutely fine." Given that the young star just dropped 31 points on the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Summer League recently, it seems that Flagg is settling in sooner than most may have expected.

Pat Tillman's brother arrested on suspected arson after fiery crash into post office: Police
Federal postal investigators are investigating why a car slammed into a neighborhood post office early Sunday morning in San Jose, California. The post office building caught fire and was engulfed in flames after the car went into it. The man arrested for the incident was Richard Tillman, who is the brother of late NFL star turned U.S. Army Ranger Pat Tillman, according to San Jose Police. Richard Tillman, 44, was booked on suspicion of arson into the Santa Clara County Jail. "Shortly after 3 a.m. the San Jose Fire and Police Departments responded to reports of a vehicle on fire in the box lobby area at the Almaden Valley Station Post Office. The fire was extinguished with no injuries," the U.S. Postal Inspection Service said in a statement. Federal investigators told ABC News they are aware of and investigating spray-painted words found on the post office building and claims that the driver live-streamed driving the car into the building. The connection of the spray-painted words to the incident is not clear at this point, sources familiar with the investigation told ABC News. It is unclear if the driver was impaired. ABC News has reached out to the Pat Tillman Foundation for comment from the family. Pat Tillman put his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals on hold following the Sept. 11 attacks and enlisted in the Army. He was killed by friendly fire while serving in Afghanistan in 2004.

Twins avert series sweep against the Rockies in 7-1 victory
Royce Lewis hit two home runs — his first career multihomer game — and Joe Ryan struck out 11 in seven innings as the Minnesota Twins beat the Colorado Rockies 7-1 on Sunday to prevent a three-game sweep. Coming off his first All-Star appearance, Ryan (10-4) gave up one run and five hits with no walks. The right-hander worked a scoreless fourth inning with two strikeouts in the All-Star Game last Tuesday night at Atlanta. Griffin Jax and Jhoan Duran each threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Twins. Matt Wallner hit a two-run homer off starter Germán Márquez (3-11) in the third and Harrison Bader added a solo shot for the Twins. Willi Castro tripled leading off the ninth and scored on a throwing error by shortstop Orlando Arcia to make it 7-1. Mickey Moniak homered in the third for Colorado. Jordan Beck and Ryan McMahon each had two hits. Castro drew a leadoff walk, moved to second on a groundout by Carlos Correa and scored on a triple by Kody Clemens before Wallner's homer gave the Twins a 3-1 lead in the third. Minnesota racked up 12 hits — six for extra bases — and Twins pitchers had 13 strikeouts. The Twins hadn't announced a starter yet for Monday against Shohei Ohtani (0-0, 1.00 ERA) and the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The Rockies begin a three-game set against St. Louis.
