Corrie's Todd left in shock as Theo's daughter Millie drops major bombshell

Metro5 hours ago

Theo Silverton's (James Cartwright) daughter Millie (Kaitlyn Earley) once again threatens to drive a wedge in his relationship with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in Coronation Street next week.
Millie has already caused a fair few problems for Todd.
Earlier this year, her mum Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) walked in on Todd and Theo kissing, after accusing Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) of being the one sleeping with him.
The family dynamic was never going to be the same again, though Theo did try.
Following the shock, he drunkenly told Todd that things between them were over, before heading back to his car to his waiting wife.
They subsequently reconciled, but Millie wasn't happy. She called at the undertakers demanding some answers from her dad, which made Todd feel uneasy.
He then heard a car alarm sounding from a hearse outside, and realised she'd vandalised the vehicle with a tin of paint! Theo couldn't see the error of her ways and leapt to her defence.

In upcoming scenes, in the wake of Todd's mum Eileen's (Sue Cleaver) departure, he's surprised to have someone arrive on his doorstep.
It's none other than Millie, who is carrying an overnight bag and clearly in a bad way following a falling out with Danielle. Theo heads off to speak with his wife, leaving the teen alone with Todd.
Incredibly awkward.
The two have somewhat of a frosty exchange, and Millie drops an almighty bombshell. What does she say?

Later, Theo assures Todd that their relationship is far from over when he makes the decision to move out for the sake of his kids. More Trending
Todd is relieves when he agrees to a lunch date, but during their food, Theo notices a missed call from Millie and rushes out, saying that he'll have to put her first.
Feeling more on the outer than ever before, Todd begins to wonder whether there relationship can go the distance.

BBC Strictly Come Dancing star breaks silence after being 'suspended' from EastEnders

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Jamie Borthwick, known for his role as Jay Brown in EastEnders, has issued a sincere apology after he was caught using an offensive term against disabled people. The incident took place about six months ago during his time on Strictly Come Dancing and has led to speculation that the actor might have been suspended from the BBC soap. The Manchester Evening News reported that the soap star used the derogatory term in a video referring to the people of Blackpool, where the beloved Strictly episode is traditionally filmed at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Disability charity Scope and a Blackpool councillor have expressed their disappointment over the matter. In a statement to The Sun on Sunday, Jamie expressed his regret: "I want to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to making it through Blackpool week on Strictly. (Image: BBC/Jack Barnes) "I am deeply sorry for any offence and upset my words and actions have caused. It is no excuse, but I did not fully understand the derogatory term I used and its meaning. That is on me completely. "Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did. It was wrong," reports the Express. (Image: ITV) He also made a point to offer a specific apology to the residents of Blackpool, emphasising his contrition for his comments. The Sun claims that the actor has been sidelined from EastEnders, resulting in the BBC issuing the following statement: "This language is entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect at the BBC. We have robust processes in place for this." Jamie's Strictly appearance last year was marked by his partnership with Michelle Tsiakkas. The controversy allegedly began in November when the Strictly cast filmed at Blackpool Tower Ballroom. (Image: PA) Meanwhile, singer Wynne Evans, famous for Go Compare adverts and 53 years old, also faced criticism for stroking partner Katya Jones on live television, despite suggestions that it was meant as a joke. This is not the first time the popular show has been surrounded by controversy. In previous seasons, backstage tension led to the sudden exits of Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice. Reach PLC has reached out to the BBC for comment. Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to BBC One later this year, with past episodes available to stream via ITVX.

'I'm the first trans man on a UK gay dating show – I feel validated'

'I didn't want to deny myself the experience just because I was scared and it was unheard of.' Those are the poignant words of Lars Fellows, the first transgender star of a gay dating show in the UK. He set hearts racing and eyelashes fluttering upon entering the Italian Masseria for series 2 of BBC Three's I Kissed A Boy, hosted by pop queen and all-round queer icon Dannii Minogue. Dannii returned to play Cupid once more this year in the rollercoaster ride of a reality show in which singletons are matched up based on their preferences for a partner, then share a steamy kiss… all before even knowing the other person's name. What follows is, as you'd expect, plenty of twists, turns, and emotional moments, which Lars has found himself at the centre of. The 23-year-old took a courageous leap during episode 1, coming out as a trans man to his fellow contestants and speaking candidly about transitioning. Now, chatting exclusively to Metro, Lars reflects on his time on the show and responds to the tirade of transphobic trolling in the wake of his groundbreaking TV debut. 'There were a lot of things going through my mind when it came to taking part in I Kissed A Boy. I was a bit unsure at first. I wasn't sure how it would be received; they hadn't had a trans person on the show before, and I didn't know what that might look like for me, so I did have a bit of hesitancy about it,' he admits. 'But after talking with producers and casting, it eased my mind about it. It felt like I could really trust them with my story.' With thousands of members from all over the world, our vibrant LGBTQ+ WhatsApp channel is a hub for all the latest news and important issues that face the LGBTQ+ community. Simply click on this link, select 'Join Chat' and you're in! Don't forget to turn on notifications! Lars adds that, at its core, taking part in the dating show offered so much more than the potential for a bit of smooching. 'It was an opportunity for representation and to represent myself and the community, and that was very personal to me. 'There are not a lot of trans men in the media, and I want to allow for more of that and open the conversation for more trans men. But just because I was scared, that doesn't mean I shouldn't do it. 'I live my life as a gay man, and I thought, 'Why not put myself in that situation to see what happens?'' Exploring both romantic and platonic connections on the show has allowed Lars to communicate that trans people are, quite simply, 'normal people' looking to find friends and lovers like anyone else. However, that doesn't mean the experience has been without pressure, as, at times, Lars has felt the weight of wanting to be both a role model to his community and an example of what it means to be trans for cis folk. 'But I can't be a perfect representation because there's no perfect trans person, there's no perfect person,' he reasons. And instead of fretting over what he can't be, Lars is choosing to focus on everything he is to so many. 'It has been amazing and overwhelming seeing the support,' he shares sweetly. 'It's reminded me of why I went on the show, but it's also a reminder of the fact that it's so mental for me to be the first. It's a positive thing, and I can only be myself, but hopefully others will now feel like they can put themselves out there too.' Lars's positive mental attitude is also apparent when he addresses the backlash to his casting, with transphobia raging across social media with the falsehood that he might be trying to 'trick' people. While such abuse would understandably knock any human being's confidence, Lars is determined to focus on what really matters. 'Unfortunately, I did anticipate a reaction, both good and bad, and with the trolling and negative response, it's not great,' he explains. 'But for me, there's nothing a random person on the internet can say that's gonna undermine who I am.' He continues defiantly: 'At the end of the day, I've worked really hard to get where I am, and these comments don't mean anything to me. 'That's not to say they don't get to me sometimes, but I need to focus on the positives, and I've received so much support and so many amazing messages from other trans people and parents of trans people, and that's way more important.' Series 2 of I Kissed A Boy has broken down barriers in more ways than one, with fellow cast member Adam praised for opening up about his HIV diagnosis. His chat with the other boys left viewers in tears as he recounted his brush with death and called to end the stigma around living with the virus. All in all, it's been a series to remember, not just for its dramatic kiss-offs and Dannii's extravagant outfits, but for the conversations it's started. So, is Lars glad he did it? It's a resounding yes, as he hails the show as having 'fast-tracked' his levels of self-acceptance and 'affirmed and validated' his identity. 'I am absolutely glad I did it. It was an experience that I didn't realise I needed. I didn't think going on a reality TV show would make me feel more secure and confident in who I am, but it has,' he declares proudly. More Trending 'As gay people, I wish we all got to experience those moments of unspoken acceptance. It's not just tolerance; it's everyone being so supportive of each other and encouraging within the group. 'Especially when it comes to dating, the gay community can be quite toxic sometimes, so when you're put in an environment with no external factors and you're all just relying on each other, it bonds you, while the outside world can be quite competitive. 'Ultimately, I got to spend three weeks flirting with a bunch of hot guys, so I have no regrets at all.' View More » Catch up with I Kissed A Boy on BBC iPlayer. Got a story? Doctor Who fans in disbelief over 'disrespect' of iconic star Jenna Coleman

Fans of Doctor Who have been left in a state of disbelief at the 'disrespect' of former companion and viewer favourite Clara Oswald. This came as a special episode of the spin-off documentary series Doctor Who: Unleashed celebrated 20 years of the sci-fi drama's rebooted iteration. First airing on BBC One on March 26 2005, Doctor Who returned to screens after an absence of 16 years, introducing Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor, and Billie Piper as companion Rose Tyler. The rest, as they say, is history – and Doctor Who recently wrapped up its most recent series, with Ncuti Gatwa stepping down as the Fifteenth Doctor during a surprise regeneration. Looking back over 20 years of filming in Cardiff, last night's Unleashed paid tribute to Doctors and companions past. However, many fans were disappointed by one particularly glaring omission – namely, the curious absence of Clara Oswald, as played by Jenna Coleman. Clara was initially introduced as a companion to the Eleventh Doctor, as played by Matt Smith. First appearing in the Series Seven episode Asylum of the Daleks in 2012, Jenna's enigmatic appearance (playing one of three different people who shared a similar name, but the same face) turned into a full-time companionship under the Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi). Clara departed the TARDIS in Series 9, with the 2015 finale Hell Bent being her last in a starring role. However, she did return for the Twelfth Doctor's final episode, showing up for a cameo in the 2017 Christmas special, Twice Upon A Time. As such, Clara is one of the rebooted Doctor's longer-serving companions… making her absence from this week's celebration seem particularly odd. 'I'm in utter disbelief over how little time was dedicated to the 12th Doctor's era in the new Unleashed ep, only a little under 2 minutes in an hour long special,' wrote DWfigurephotos on X. The user continued: 'The episode 'Blink' alone got more time dedicated to it than Peter's entire run! 🤦‍♂️ Also no Clara AT ALL?!' 'I know the Doctor temporarily lost all his memories of Clara, but it seems that the makers of Doctor Who Unleashed have forgotten about her completely,' said MrDavidEBrown. 'Is it just me or is it odd that the #DoctorWho Unleashed 20th Anniversary Special didn't even mention Clara. It just skipped over her completely. I can understand if Jenna Coleman wasn't available, but to not even mention or show the character seems really strange,' commented JovialVulcan. 'The whole time when Jenna Coleman played Clara, was skipped over. Her name not mentioned & only a glimpse of her from the distance in a scene from 'Deep Breath'. I wonder why that was?' said PayneNotes1. Also missing from the line-up was Series 3 and 4 companion Martha Jones, as played by Freema Agyeman. Surprisingly, Millie Gibson's Ruby Sunday didn't rate a mention either, although she did appear in the background during an interview with Ncuti and Varada Sethu. Former companions who were included in this love letter to Cardiff-era Who included Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, who played Amy and Rory Pond during Matt Smith's run on the show. Representing Peter's time, Pearl Mackie also addressed her time as Bill Potts, while Jodie Whittaker's TARDIS-mate Mandip Gill provided some insight of her own. Catherine Tate may not have appeared in an interview, but showrunner Russell T Davies and the documentary did at least acknowledge her existence. Meanwhile, as the most recent companion, Varada joined Ncuti on the red carpet to discuss their stints on the show. As perhaps the Doctor's most well-known companion, Billie Piper joined David Tennant as they reflected on their time in the TARDIS together. Both have returned to the show since their exit, with David starring in three special episodes last year after (re)regenerating from Jodie's much-maligned Thirteenth Doctor. His three-episode return culminated in the show's first bi-generation – heralding the arrival of Ncuti Gatwa as the show's Fifteenth Doctor. More Trending In shocking scenes during this month's series finale, Ncuti stepped down from the show after only two seasons – apparently regenerating into Billie Piper as the episode ended. Whether Billie is actually the Doctor remains to be seen, but her return to the show has left fans worried for its future. View More » Amid rumours that David Tennant might come back (again!) some have suggested that the show is 'running out of ideas' and coasting on its past. Got a story?
