The Chase host was left offended by one contestant's remark during the latest edition of the ITV quiz show, which saw Fiona, Becky, Derek and Amitabh take part
Bradley Walsh was taken aback by a contestant's comment on The Chase. Fiona, Becky, Derek and Amitabh were the quartet hoping to showcase their trivia prowess on the ITV quiz show.
Amitabh, hailing from Delhi, India, was the first to pit his wits against one of Britain's top quizzers, in this instance, Mark Labbett, also known as The Beast. Having relocated to the UK merely five years ago, some queries proved to be quite challenging.

Nonetheless, Amitabh demonstrated his impressive general knowledge, racking up £6,000 in his Cash Builder round. Host Bradley remarked: "For a dude that's only been in the country for five years you played an absolute blinder."

In his head-to-head with The Beast, Amitabh made a promising start but found himself in a difficult one question shoot-out. Regrettably, his stint on the ITV quiz show was cut short when he was caught by The Chaser.
He then heard Bradley's feared phrase: "For you, The Chase is over" and he left with nothing. Next up was Becky from Birmingham, who hoped to leave a better impression, reports the Liverpool Echo.
She secured £8,000 in the rapid-fire question round and managed to clinch a spot in the final. Derek from Wirral followed in Becky's successful path, earning a place in the final chase and boosting the shared prize pot to £14,000.
Bradley was left dumbstruck when contestant Fiona from Oldham confessed she'd been on BBC One's Pointless before facing The Beast on The Chase.
The ITV host lost for words after Fiona's revelation, quipped with a tongue-in-cheek jab: "I shouldn't have mentioned Pointless."

Bradley playfully ribbed: "So we're your second choice basically."
Fiona quickly reassured him: "Never Brad, I've obviously been dying to get on the show."
Fiona didn't clinch victory on Pointless and joined forces with Becky and Derek, hoping for better fortunes on The Chase.

Bradley couldn't resist a slight tease, stating: "Not in a million years are you going to win now."
He then threw an impossible question her way: "Here's your first question, what's my mum Margaret's third middle name?"

After jabbing her with the mock question, Bradley lamented: "Pointless! Are you kidding me?"
Returning to the game, Fiona impressively made it through to the final chase, contributing £20,000 to the prize fund.
Despite an admirable effort with 19 steps ahead of The Beast, the Chaser caught Fiona, Becky, and Derek with just three seconds spare.
Following their narrow defeat, Bradley couldn't resist another jibe: "Well, there's always Pointless."
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

Watch the moment SECOND Love Island couple sneak off for a steamy night in the Hideaway hours before tense recoupling

IN tonight's instalment of Love Island, a second couple headed to the Hideaway for a steamy night together. One stunning girl and one hunky boy were seen kissing in the villa before sneaking off for a steamy night in the Hideaway hours before a very tense recoupling. The smitten couple were seen kissing and cuddling before they made a quick decision. Making a joint decision to get a little more privacy, the pair decided they'd head to the Hideaway for the night. Emily Moran is one of bombshells who entered the villa on day five alongside Yasmin Pettet and Malisha Jordan. Advertisement Meanwhile, Conor is an OG boy and is 25 years of age from Ireland. From Limerick in Ireland, Conor plays for Ireland's Rugby 7s. As the pair entered the hideaway, Conor exclaimed: "This will do." The pair were then seen passionately snogging in bed. Advertisement Viewers at home were quick to react to the steamy scenes, with many taking to X. "Feels so weird watching people kiss without seeing what else happens in the day, swear Conor and emily only just met and haven't even spoke," said one person. Why Love Island USA Is the Reality TV Upgrade We Needed: Drama, Fun, and a Fresh New Vibe A second then said: "as much as I love Toni, I fear Connor and Emily are really cute together." While a third fumed: "I don't like the hideaway being open all the time." Advertisement And a fourth said: "Emily is pretty, but I genuinely don't get why they have to go to the hideaway after 3 days." This comes after we revealed last week that air hostess Helena, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry, 30, spent the night together after mere days in the villa. After just three days in the villa, and shacked up with different people at the time, Helena and Harry decided to spend the night with one another in the cosy nook. Helena told Harry that they would go to bed as normal before sneaking out and away from the people they were in couples with. Advertisement They did just this, with Helena tapping Harry on his foot before they made a quick exit and got cosy together in the hideaway. Before the scenes aired last week, a source told The Sun: 'This is the fastest sleepover in the Hideaway in Love Island's twelve series history - and what a gorgeous pair to do so. 'In the past, producers had to invite Islanders to use the breakout bedroom which meant the love nest was generally not used until couples became more established. 'But producers have changed the rules of the breakout bedroom so it can be used at any time, without an invite. Advertisement 'It means Helena and Harry could take advantage of the 'no invite needed' and explore their connection. 'The scenes will play out later this week, but bosses are unlikely to show anything too naughty, as is the show's usual approach.'

The Chase fans 'fuming' as ITV show taken off air in major schedule shake-up

The Chase fans were left fuming tonight as they switched over to ITV to watch their favourite quiz show - only to find out it had been pulled off air in a huge schedule shake-up The Chase fans were left fuming after ITV abruptly took their favoured quiz off air in a swift scheduling reshuffle. The usual 5pm slot for the fan favourite quiz show, fronted by Bradley Walsh, was unexpectedly pulled from the schedule on Tuesday (June 17). Today, the programme was pulled from its usual 5pm slot due to coverage of the Royal Ascot on the opening day of the racing festival. Unfortunately for fans, the bad news carries on all week with racing coverage starting at 1.30pm and finishing at 6pm. ‌ Disgruntled viewers took to X, previously known as Twitter, to vent their frustrations, with many quiz show lovers switching over to BBC One's Pointless. ‌ One disappointed fan penned: "# TheChase since there's no Chase tonight, it's over to #pointless", while another chaffed: "Not #TheChase I was expecting #RoyalAscot." Another penned: "Just sat down to watch #TheChase but instead i get [horse emoji]", as another who switched to the rival show announced: "No 5pm repeat of #TheChase today or all week due to Ascot! So Pointless will probably double its audience to at least 10." It's not the only ITV show that has been affected by the coverage. Yesterday, Loose Women 's Ruth Langsford announced that the show wouldn't be airing for the rest of the week. "That's it from us today, I'm afraid. It gets worse, we're not on all week," she told viewers. "ITV's coverage of Ascot will be on, but we will be back same time next Monday. Until then, have a lovely week." ‌ The Chase first graced our screens in 2009 and swiftly became a staple on ITV. It features regular contestants vying against each other, testing their general knowledge for the chance to bag a hefty cash prize. This isn't the inaugural time the quiz programme has encountered significant disruption this year. Earlier this month, the teatime programme was pulled off air to accommodate coverage of the UEFA Women's Nations League, Spain v England. The Chase also altered its usual timetable last week when two Soccer Aid for UNICEF special episodes were broadcast on Wednesday and Friday. Shaun Williams, David James, Lianne Sanderson, and Dion Dublin comprised the team of four celebrities who squared off against Darragh Ennis. Meanwhile, Dermot O'Leary, Lynsey Hipgrave, Kyle Walker, and Alex Brooker challenged Anne Hegerty on Friday night to raise funds for UNICEF. The Chase makes its comeback to our screens on Monday 23 from 5pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
