Casualty viewers concerned for fan-favourite as they plea 'look after yourself'
In the latest edge-of-your-seat episode of Casualty, viewers witnessed Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) returning to the ED post-cancer treatment.
Advised by medical professionals to extend her rest period, a determined Stevie was keen to dive back into work regardless. Yet, when faced with an influx of overdose cases due to tainted drugs, she quickly found herself overwhelmed.
While newcomer Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) initially promised his support for her shift, he was promptly swept away by other crises in the department.
Audiences took to social media expressing their concern, with many feeling it may have been too premature for Stevie's return.
One viewer expressed sympathy, commenting: "Sorry, Stevie. I don't think you're ready at all #Casualty" Meanwhile, another observed: "Stevie being thrown into the deep end on Day 1 #Casualty."
A sympathetic comment read: "Poor Stevie rushed off her feet on Day 1" Another fan advised: "Stevie you shouldn't be back so soon actually I'm glad you are but please look after yourself."
Echoing this sentiment, one person said: "Stevie really hasn't been supported back to work at all #casualty" While another commented: "Poor Stevie. Much too soon to come back to work."
Someone else stated: "My heart breaks for Stevie #casualty" as another offered: "Tonight's episode is stressful."
As the episode progressed, we saw Stevie confronting Flynn about his absence during her tumultuous comeback shift, though he assured her he believed in her capabilities and kept a watchful eye on her the entire time, reports Wales Online.
As the drama on the show unveiled, it emerged the duo had past connections from their youthful days. Despite hints of a longstanding camaraderie, when Flynn advances romantically towards her, she is visibly unimpressed and promptly puts him in his place.
The actress shared her insights on the anticipated reappearance in the series and Stevie's reaction to Flynn's ill-timed kiss. Elinor divulged to What to Watch: "I know, it's like, 'dude, read the room and smell the chlorine!'
"Stevie is very much, 'What are you doing? !' She has seen him do this [in the past] to other women but out of pride she never went there.
"It's a moment where she takes charge and tells him to back off! It's been great working with Olly to find the key to our characters' friendship."
Although Stevie firmly rebuffed Flynn in the moment, viewers are left wondering if this could signal the start of a blossoming romance.

Great British Sewing Bee contestant forced to apologise after off-camera blunder
The Great British Sewing Bee was full of eventful moments on Tuesday's episode with an off-camera blunder and emotional scenes The Great British Sewing Bee delivered plenty of drama on Tuesday's instalment, featuring behind-the-scenes mishaps and tearjerking moments. During the 19 August episode, contestants faced "children's week", where they were tasked with creating garments for youngsters. The opening challenge required contestants to incorporate adaptive fashion elements whilst tackling a pattern for miniature dungarees. Following this, the transformation round saw participants reimagining maternity clothing into toddler ensembles. The final made-to-measure task challenged hopefuls to craft outfits inspired by their childhood career dreams, spanning everything from beekeeping to politics, reports Wales Online. Contestant Caz had aspired to become fashion designer Zandra Rhodes, one of the 1970s' most legendary style icons. Her tribute design featured fitted trousers and a peplum top with faux shirred detailing, completed with a coordinating beret. Paying homage to Zandra Rhodes, she selected striking fabrics and even enlisted her young model's help in creating the print. Watching her creation grace the runway, Caz was spotted dabbing away tears as she observed with evident pride. During the judges' critique, an overwhelmed Caz confessed: "I was wiping away tears while my model came down the catwalk, I'm just really pleased I turned up today." As the programme concluded, Caz found herself in floods of tears once more upon discovering she'd claimed garment of the week, exclaiming: "Wow!" Sadly, this meant one hopeful had to bid farewell to the contest, with Dan being the unlucky contestant sent packing, leaving his fellow competitors visibly upset. As the programme drew to a close, there were further dramatic moments to unfold. During a piece to camera with contestant Orla, who had harboured dreams of becoming a beekeeper in her youth and had crafted a themed ensemble for the task, she found herself having to make an apology following an off-screen mishap. The hopeful was clutching a plush bee toy whilst telling viewers: "Everyone's makes were just bee-utiful. I thought it was really fun" before hurling the cuddly creature out of shot. Unfortunately, the soft toy accidentally struck something or someone beyond the camera's view as a loud crash could be heard, prompting a startled Orla to erupt into giggles. The Great British Sewing Bee continues on Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Tom Hiddleston drops major hint about The Night Manager season 2 release date
The BBC's The Night Manager is set to return for a second series, with Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Jonathan Pine Viewers of BBC 's The Night Manager are anxiously awaiting the second series launch, and it appears the wait might soon be over. The six-episode espionage drama debuted in 2016 and became a massive success amongst television audiences. The programme draws from John le Carré 's 1993 novel bearing the identical title. Tom Hiddleston assumed the starring role of Jonathan Pine in The Night Manager, and he's set to return for both the upcoming second and third instalments. Whilst appearing on BBC's The One Show on Tuesday (19 August), Tom teased when audiences might anticipate the second season's arrival as presenters Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo shared viewer messages. Tom, joining The One Show alongside his The Life of Chuck co-stars Karen Gillan and Mark Hamill, learnt that someone had tweeted the BBC programme expressing their enthusiasm for The Night Manager, reports Wales Online. Gazing directly into the camera, the performer playfully declared over when the second series would be released: "Coming soon!" before beaming at Roman and Clara. Previously, it was revealed The Night Manager had received approval for second and third series from both the BBC and Amazon Prime Video, with Tom confirming his return to the forthcoming episodes. Additional information has remained largely confidential, though the second series will continue from where the original concluded, regardless of the considerable gap between both seasons. The Night Manager spins the tale of Jonathan, a night manager at a posh hotel in Cairo and an ex-British soldier. He's enlisted by Angela, played by Olivia Colman, who heads up a Foreign Office task force probing illicit arms sales. Angela assigns Jonathan the mission of penetrating the inner circle of arms trader Richard Roper, brought to life by Hugh Laurie. Reflecting on his return to The Night Manager for a fresh series, Tom expressed: "The first series of The Night Manager was one of the most creatively fulfilling projects I have ever worked on. The depth, range and complexity of Jonathan Pine was, and remains, a thrilling prospect. "I'm so looking forward to reuniting with Simon and Stephen Cornwell, David Farr and Stephen Garrett, and to working with Georgi Banks-Davies to tell the next chapter of our story. I can't wait."

Netflix Lincoln Lawyer star Yaya Dacosta addresses exit and if return is on the cards
The Lincoln Lawyer will soon be back for more as Netflix has already confirmed a fourth season is on the way. WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Lincoln Lawyer. Yaya Dacosta has addressed her not returning in the forthcoming fourth series of The Lincoln Lawyer. Criminal prosecutor Andrea "Andy" Freeman (portrayed by Yaya Dacosta) made her debut in Netflix 's The Lincoln Lawyer's second series and initially served as a courtroom adversary to Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia Rulfo). However, as episodes progressed, the pair evolved into allies, then casual partners, before their relationship blossomed into something more genuine. Andy is notable for appearing in writer Michael Connelly's book The Fifth Witness, upon which the second series was based. Dacosta's portrayal of Andy was given greater prominence in the third series, though her character doesn't actually feature in The Law of Innocence novel, which forms the foundation for series four. This factor, combined with Mickey's former spouse Maggie McPherson (Neve Campbell) making a full-time comeback to the legal series, appears to have resulted in Dacosta's understated departure. Speaking to TV Insider, the actress revealed: "Andrea's absence was not expected or explained to the audience. "Sometimes when things like this happen, the writers will give an explanation in a conversation between two characters who are on the show. "Or someone will make a phone call and pretend the disappeared character is on the other end. Who knows what they'll do? I'm just focusing on the now and future." Her exit from series four doesn't necessarily spell the end for fans hoping to see Andy return to The Lincoln Lawyer though. Showrunner Ted Humphrey remarked: "You never say never. First of all, obviously we've got to get another season and then hopefully seasons after that. "We feel like we have a really great palette of characters to play with, and so you can bring them in and out of the stories. "So Andrea is a great tool in our toolbox that we would love to find another way to use." This wouldn't mark the first occasion that Dacosta has stepped away from a popular programme before making a comeback later on. She portrayed ED nurse April Sexton in NBC's Chicago Med right from the start until series six when she departed, before making her return for its concluding run in season eight. However, only time will reveal whether there's going to be additional The Lincoln Lawyer content ahead, with viewers still awaiting series four's arrival, possibly later this year or early 2026.
