That's according to The Athletic, who claim talks between Amazon and United over the series took place for several "months".
Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is said to have voiced his displeasure at the proposed series to the United brass.
And Portuguese's protestations were ultimately heeded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co, who decided not to greenlight the financially lucrative series.
The Old Trafford faithul were quick to react to the news of the proposed behind-the-scenes series being scrapped.
One wrote on X: "Good decision, all that stuff is cringe."
Another said: "We finally made a good decision."
And another said: "That would've been a blockbuster no doubt.
"But with all eyes on rebuilding under Amorim, maybe staying off-camera is the real power move. Focus first, cameras later."

Arsenal continue to work on Gyokeres deal as contact made over £50m transfer
Arsenal are working on deals for some big summer targets including Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke as they continue their efforts to bolster Mikel Arteta's playing squad Arsenal are spinning plenty of plates in the transfer market with pre-season now looming large on the horizon, and talks continue over a blockbuster deal for the Sporting Lisbon striker, Viktor Gyokeres. The Sweden star, 27, has emerged as Arsenal's primary striker target. But the Gunners remain locked in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon over a deal after failing to reach an agreement with the Portuguese club's top brass during face-to-face talks over the weekend. Elsewhere, Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga have already been confirmed as new Arsenal players, with Christian Norgaard expected to be unveiled as the club's latest signing shortly. A left winger is still on the agenda, as is a surprise swoop for Crystal Palace 's Eberechi Eze if the Gunners' budget will stretch that far. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest transfer news from in and around The Emirates... Gyokeres latest A deal for Viktor Gyokeres is currently being held up by a difference in valuation between Arsenal and Sporting, the latter of whom want to bank a guaranteed €70million (£60.3m) fee in any deal for the striker. An Arsenal delegation led by Andrea Berta flew to Portugal late last week to try and wrap up a deal for the former Coventry City star. But the club's offer of €65m (£56m) plus a further €15m (£12.9m) in add-ons has not won the Portuguese champions over. The Independent say that Sporting want a guaranteed €70m before add-ons, which has led to the current stalemate. Gunners in Madueke talks Arsenal have made contact with Chelsea over a potential deal for Noni Madueke, as per The Athletic. The England star, 23, has emerged as a surprise target for Arsenal this summer in their search for more attackers. And it was revealed last week that Madueke and the Gunners have already reached an agreement on personal terms. The Gunners have now approached their London rivals to discuss the terms of a potential move for Madueke, who is valued at around £50m by the Blues. Vlahovic set for release Former Arsenal transfer target Dusan Vlahovic is set to be offered the chance to terminate the final year of his contract by Juventus. According to reports in Italy, Juve are ready to approach Vlahovic about an agreement to part ways this summer instead of next year, meaning the striker would be a free agent. A host of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, have been linked with the former Fiorentina man, who would potentially be able to negotiate higher wages and a big signing-on fee if he is unattached.

Gyokeres to Arsenal takes twist as response to private meeting comes to light
Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon remain several million apart over the upfront fee for Viktor Gyokeres after 48 hours of talks in Portugal with fresh reports saying next few hours may decide fate Viktor Gyokeres' move to Arsenal is on the brink of collapsing according to reports in Portugal because the Gunners and Sporting Lisbon are struggling to agree a fee for the prolific striker. An Arsenal delegation include transfer chief Andrea Berta have spent the past 48 hours negotiating with their Sporting counterparts after personal terms before the Premier League giants and Gyokeres' representatives were already agreed. But Record report that a €5m (£4.3m) gap remains between the clubs. Arsenal are offering a package of €65m (£56m) plus future payments of €5m and €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons. However Sporting are demanding €70m (£60m) up front and are unwilling to budge. The outlet adds that Arsenal's negotiators are now heading back to England and the next few hours may be decisive - bringing either a breakthrough or seeing the entire deal collapse. Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Gabriel Heinze as their new first team coach with the former Manchester United full back set to boost Mikel Arteta 's brains trust. The ex-Argentina international has already linked up with the Gunners as they begin their pre-season preparations ahead of a renewed attempt to the end their two-decade wait for the Premier League title. 'We are delighted to announce the appointment of Gabriel Heinze to our coaching staff as men's first team coach,' Arsenal said in a statement. 'Heinze, a former Argentina international, brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the club. We are excited with the introduction of Gabriel to our men's first-team coaching staff, and welcome him and his family to Arsenal.' Arsenal are back in training and have five friendlies pencilled in, beginning with fixtures with AC Milan and Newcastle in Singapore before facing Spurs in Hong Kong later this month. The Gunners then host Villarreal and Athletic Club in the Emirates Cup on August 5 and 9. Arteta has already welcomed Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi into his playing squad while they remain in advanced talks with Sporting Lisbon for the centre forward Viktor Gyokeres. Brentford captain Christian Norgaard is also set to join, while there remains talk of an audacious swoop for Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

Man Utd find new Victor Gyokeres transfer opportunity amid Bryan Mbeumo deadline
Manchester United still have work to do in the transfer window and updates have been offered on Viktor Gyokeres and Bryan Mbeumo as Ruben Amorim attempts to strengthen his squad There's little more than a month until the Premier League returns and the transfer window is well underway. But Manchester United have yet to make a significant splash in overhauling Ruben Amorim's squad. The Red Devils moved quickly to add Matheus Cunha to their squad and have confirmed the arrival of Diego Leon but otherwise struggled to make additions. Bids for Bryan Mbuemo have been placed but the club have yet to secure his signature from Brentford. And upon the club's return to pre-season training Marcus Rashford reported back on Monday and Tuesday - despite being given extra time off to find a new club United have yet to find a new club for Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia or Alejandro Garnacho. Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans all saw their contracts end, with the latter taking on a coaching role with the club. There is still plenty of work to be done in order to transform Amorim's side after they finished 15th in the Premier League last term. Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford. READ MORE: Ex-Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick undergoes emergency surgery after botched operation Gyokeres loan Viktor Gyokeres will reportedly look for a loan move this summer should Arsenal fail to agree a deal for him. The Gunners are said to have reached an impasse with Sporting CP and are willing to walk away from a deal. But the ex-Coventry striker, who has been linked to Manchester United, remains adamant he will not play for the Portuguese side again after threatening to strike rather than return to pre-season training. Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce side are reported to be among the teams keeping tabs on the situation. Juventus are also monitoring Gyokeres' prospects as they look to add a striker. Free agent? Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic could be available for free this summer with the Serie A side poised to offer the Serbian a deal to terminate his contract. The striker, who has been linked to Manchester United amid Juve's reported interest in Jadon Sancho and Rasmus Hojlund, appears to have no future with the Old Lady. Vlahovic, 25 has continued to be linked with a move to England despite joining the Itailian giants ahead of Arsenal. Transfer talk has intensified this summer as the forward enters the final 12 months of his contract. Reports in Italy claim that Vlahovic will not entertain talks of a contract extension and it is claimed he would even be prepared to sit out of the entire 2025/26 campaign to rake in his €12m (£10.3m) salary. It now appears all but certain Vlahovic will leave Turin in the coming weeks as Juventus prepare to make Vlahovic an offer to rip up his contract. United confident of meeting Mbeumo deadline Manchester United are optimistic of agreeing a deal with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo in time for the club's pre-season tour of the United States, report Sky Sports. Ruben Amorim wants his squad ready in time for the trip in order to integrate new players and ensure everyone is up to speed heading into the season. The Red Devils begin their time in the USA with a match against West Ham in New Jersey on July 26. There is said to be 'cautious optimism' at Old Trafford that a deal will get over the line. The clubs still have a gap in their valuation of the player with work in particular to be done on the structure of the deal. The Bees want a £65m transfer fee which United are said not to be far off, but the west London side want the majority of the fee to be paid up front.
