Ken Roczen to miss final two Supercross rounds, to heal from shoulder, ankle injuries
Roczen suffered further damage to his right ankle this week during a practice session.

Despite riding with injury, Roczen finished in the top 10 in every race since Tampa, Florida, in Round 5. He has slowly lost contact with the championship battle, and with a 54-point deficit to Cooper Webb, he was mathematically eliminated last week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
"It's tough to step away with just two rounds remaining," said Roczen in a news release. "But with the new injury, I need to prioritize long-term health and recovery. I'm proud of what we've accomplished so far this season and I'll be supporting the team as they head into the final rounds."
The additional injury to his ankle will require Roczen to undergo surgery. Any complications could put the start of the Pro Motocross season, which begins May 24, 2025 at Fox Raceway in Pala, California.
"Ken has been pushing through a lot of adversity this season," Larry Brooks, HEP Motorsports/Suzuki Team Manager, said. "He's been incredibly tough and focused on delivering for the team each weekend, even while managing pain. This new development is unfortunate, but we support him fully in taking the necessary steps to heal properly."

Unadilla Motocross 2025 preview: Top finishes, previous winners, historic results, who to watch
Hunter Lawrence's first overall motocross win, Jett Lawrence's penalty, Chase Sexton's hard crash in Moto 2 at Ironman Raceway Park last week, and the fact that Eli Tomac has never won an overall at Unadilla MX Park in New Berlin, New York, sets the stage for Round 10 of the Pro Motocross season, Round 27 of the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX), to be one of the most interesting races of the season. Hosting races since 1969, Unadilla pre-dates Pro Motocross itself and has been the site of some iconic events, including the first Motocross of Nations in 1987. That year, Bob Hannah led Rick Johnson and Jeff Ward to victory in the middle of a 13-year streak of victories for Team USA. Last year, Sexton continued his string of victories at Unadilla and came close to wrapping up the 2024 championship. Dan Beaver, Jett won there in 2023 as part of his perfect rookie season, and he could easily clinch the Pro Motocross championship this week. The penalty at Ironman that kept him from securing the overall win and placed him outside the top five also put a chip on his shoulder that will make him even more dangerous. Losing two consecutive motocross rounds is extremely rare for Jett. The last time that happened was in the 250 class in 2022, and it came at the site of the following two rounds, Unadilla and Budds Creek, according to Ken Roczen will return to action this week and race the final two Motocross rounds in preparation for the SMX Playoffs. He won back-to-back rounds in 2019 and 2021 (2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic), and has Sexton's goal of finishing in the top 10 in his first round back in mind this week. Hunter became the fourth rider to score his first overall win after standing on the podium at least 10 times. When Chad Reed first won in 2009, he had come close 27 times. That same season, Mike Alessi got his first win after 12 podiums. In 2022 at Hangtown, Jason Anderson completed the task after 16 top-three results. Hunter finished second 10 times and was on the podium 14 times previously before Ironman. RJ Hampshire scored his first overall podium last week after qualifying a season-best of second. 250 Notes Haiden Deegan has a chance to clinch the 250 division this week, and momentum is on his side after a 1-1 finish at Ironman. He has been first or second in 17 of the 18 motos run this week Deegan also has the chance to catch Jett in 250 wins at Unadilla and could pass him for sole possession of eighth on the chart if he races and wins in Budds Creek. Jett achieved 14 wins in 36 starts. If Deegan wins this week, he will have 14 victories in 34 starts. In the SMX points battle, Deegan clinched the No. 1 seed last week. Jo Shimoda is comfortably second, but the remainder of the top 10 is in question. Notably, positions sixth through 10th are separated by 16 points. Jalek Swoll (thumb, calf) out for the remainder of the 2025 SuperMotocross season
Jalek Swoll will sit out the remainder of the 2025 season after further aggravating a thumb injury and tearing a calf muscle at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, in Round 9 of the Pro Motocross season. 'Unfortunately in qualifying over the weekend I tore my calf, no crash or dab in a corner just landed a jump and boom,' Swoll posted on social media. 'We assume it was just weak from when I did my Achilles and in that case there's nothing I could've done, between my thumb injury and not being able to practice during my time racing and now tearing my calf it's been tough and I can proudly say my body has had enough before I did. ... With that being said, me and the team have decided to sit out the rest of the year to get healed and ready to contend in 2026. 'Very proud of myself and the team for helping me get back to being competitive and on the box in such [a] short amount of time, the effort is there and excited to dog this offseason out. [S]ee you soon.' The calf injury will not require surgery, but rest is necessary to allow it to heal. Dan Beaver, 'Jalek has unfortunately sustained a calf muscle injury,' said Jeremy Coker, General Manager, Triumph Racing America. 'While the good part is that it doesn't require surgery, it is unfortunately one of those things that just takes time. With that being said, the team and Jalek have decided it is best for him to sit out the rest of the year and focus on being 100% for the 2026 season. Jalek had just started to show his true potential, and I am absolutely gutted for him. I do know that he will put his best foot forward and come back even stronger in 2026.' Swoll injured his Achilles tendon in practice prior to the start of the Monster Energy Supercross 250 West season opener and missed the entire SX season. He returned in Round 3 of the Pro Motocross season to finish 10th in the High Point National in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania. Two rounds later, he shocked the field with a runner-up finish in RedBud. Despite his calf injury last weekend, Swoll had a strong start in Moto 1 at Ironman and finished 10th. He collided with another rider and then pulled off track early in Moto 2. Swoll did not earn any points in that race, resulting in a 16th-place finish overall. Ironman Motocross betting, predictions, odds, picks, lines: Jett Lawrence tumbles after two losses
For Round 10 of the Pro Motocross series at Unadilla MX Park in New Berlin, New York, Jett Lawrence hit an unprecedented level in his raw, opening betting odds on the heels of back-to-back losses. That bit of good news is offset by the fact that he continues to show minus odds of -179 midway through the week. Lawrence was as unattractive as -824 heading into the Washougal National, a race he lost to Chase Sexton. Last week's overall loss was attributed to a penalty in Moto 1, where Jett jumped the start and fouled the gate. While the mistake was self-inflicted, it is also unlikely to occur again, and Jett should be judged on his riding. He entered Turn 1 last week outside the top 20 and rode up to third at the checkers. If not for the penalty, his 3-1 would have narrowly edged Hunter Lawrence's 2-2 for the overall win. Instead, he was credited with 17th in Moto 1 and finished sixth overall. Certainly, few, if any, bettors risked a bet of -2757 for Jett to stand on the podium. If so, they lost up to a season's worth of advances. The traders at Alt Sports Data, the official linemaker for the SuperMotocross World Championship, are not going to allow any bargains when it comes to a podium; Jett is posted at -2422 to finish third or better. Hunter became the third winner of 2025 with his pair of runner-up finishes at Ironman. It was a victory long in the making after Hunter scored 10 second-place overall finishes heading into that race. His raw opening odds were +435, which was the third-ranked line of the weekend. With the retirement of Sexton for the final two rounds of 2025, there is a shakeup at the top. RJ Hampshire (+537) earned his first career podium last week and finished second. The traders believe he is capable of backing that up and ranked him third. As a result, Hampshire leapfrogged Eli Tomac (+589), who was pushed down to fourth. Tomac did not make much noise last week, but he was battling an illness that began on Friday and intensified on race day. Had he been 100 percent, Tomac would have been a much stronger competitor for the win. The field still has a lot of ground to cover if they want to challenge Jett weekly, but they know it is possible to beat him. They need to stay close enough to the front of the pack in Moto 1 to contend. Justin Cooper (+1057) is the fifth-ranked rider this week with odds just outside 10/1. He has been consistent in 2025, but with only two podiums, at Hangtown and Redbud, he is too risky for a large bet. He narrowly missed the podium last week with a fourth overall, but that would have been amended to fifth without Jett's penalty. Ken Roczen (+1787) returns to action this week, and the traders are showing a lot of respect at nearly 18/1. His opening odds for a podium were +486, and while Sexton's departure makes that a little easier to achieve, there is too much risk for conservative bettors.
