GOLDEN arches and red seating, it's safe to say that most McDonald's generally have the same look - apart from this one.
In Guatemala there's a restaurant of the fast food chain that looks nothing like you'd expect, and has been called the 'prettiest in the world'.

McDonald's Antigua, Guatemala has ditched the usual McDonald's design for a beautiful courtyard, and incredible views.
The restaurant is in the central highlands of Guatemala - so if you look out you get views of the enormous Agua volcano.
It has a large beautiful cobbled courtyard full of lush green trees, bright flower, and tables with sun umbrellas surrounding a huge fountain.
Some videos on social media even show off live music outside.
You don't forget it's a McDonald's, though, when you spot a huge Ronald McDonald statue on a bench.
It has made an impression with visitors too, one wrote on Tripadvisor: "I guarantee you won't have seen a McDonald's like it."
Another said: "The McDonald's here is amazing. Because of the city's historical preservation rules, you won't know that McDonald's is there unless you happen to walk by and look inside."
A third commented: "You can eat some burgers or ice cream with a beautiful view of mountains."
It even has a swing set integrated into its design which has appeared multiple times on Instagram and TikTok.

McDonald's knows what they're doing, as there's one very quirky restaurant in New Zealand that's inside a decommissioned DC-3 plane.
On the aircraft-turned fast-food restaurant in Taupō, New Zealand, you have to climb the original plane stairs that lead into the restaurant.
Inside there's not a lot of room, but 20 diners can sit across 10 tables.
There's also the cockpit, which has been preserved behind a glass wall.
The outside of the plane has been repainted, and the previous airline name has been replaced with the McDonald's logo of course.
The tail end of the plane features the classic McDonald's golden arches and outside, there's a playground for kids as well.
Here are more of McDonald's restaurants around the world that are both beautiful and unusual, from former banks to UNESCO sites.
Plus, inside the world's most tranquil McDonald's with Japanese-themed tea garden and serene river.

Rylan Clark treats mum to a sunny Marbella holiday after hospital dash

This Morning presenter Rylan Clark took his mother, Linda, and a few other family members on a sunny holiday to Marbella, Spain, after Linda's recent hospital dash Rylan Clark escaped the chaos of work to treat his mum, Linda, to a sunny holiday in Marbella for a couple of days. The This Morning host shared a glimpse into the well-deserved break with his Instagram followers and was seen showing off his pearly whites as he posed with his mum and other family members. ‌ The TV star's holiday post comes several weeks after he announced that he would be absent from his BBC Radio 2 show because Linda had been rushed to hospital. At the time of the incident, Rylan told fans on Instagram: 'Mummy Linda isn't well sadly so I won't be hosting the show tomorrow. ‌ 'Thank you to the emergency team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Will keep you updated as she's on the mend. She's a trooper.' Meanwhile, former This Morning host Holly Willoughby has been letting her hair down in white swimsuit on sun soaked holiday. ‌ Following her trip to the hospital, Rylan, his mum and few more loved ones jetted off to Marbella. In one snap, Rylan posed with his mum by the beach before inviting all the other family members in for another snap. He also posted a picture of the restaurant they ate at, which saw the waiter bring out giant plates of pasta. He made sure to enjoy a few sweet treats and relaxed by the hotel swimming pool. ‌ Rylan wrote in the caption: "Gorgeous couple of days in Marbella with the mother and the gang." Friends and fans rushed to the comment section to compliment the family, with one user writing: "So nice to see you and your mum and she is looking so well too." Another added: "Beautiful pictures and making lovely memories with mum." Meanwhile, after Linda's hospital trip, Rylan told fans she was permitted to return home in time for her birthday on July 20. ‌ He later branded her a "walking disaster" live on the radio, after she opened up about struggling with another health issue. The X Factor star was presenting his BBC Radio 2 show when he started talking with his mum on the phone, who informed him that she had sustained an injury to her arms at home. She said: 'I hurt my arms, didn't I?" To which Rylan replied: "Yeah, I know you hurt your arm and it wound me up! Tell everyone how you hurt your arm." ‌ Linda explained: "Well, I was looking in the ottoman, and it's quite heavy, and the lid came down." Rylan added: "And you've cut all your arm." "Oh it did hurt", Linda replied, before admitting: "If it ain't one thing it's another, isn't it?'. In response, Rylan quipped: 'That's why you're like a walking disaster at the moment," to which his mum candidly agreed.

Blackwood Miners' Institute among best attractions in Wales

Blackwood Miners' Institute has been recognised in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards for 2025, which lists the top 10 per cent of attractions worldwide. The award is based on visitor feedback left on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, making it a reliable indicator of popular attractions. The recognition comes five months after a major funding boost saved the venue from being mothballed by the council. Councillor Jamie Pritchard, deputy leader and cabinet member for prosperity, regeneration, and transformation, said: "I'm absolutely delighted that Blackwood Miners' Institute has been recognised with a TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Award for 2025. "It's a real testament to the passion and hard work of the entire team. "I want to thank our audiences for their continued support and for taking the time to leave such fantastic feedback." Some of the reviews that contributed to the award include praise for the staff, the shows, and the overall experience at the institute. One visitor, who attended in June 2025, described a "fabulous night" and said the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Another visitor, who attended in April 2025, said: "A fantastic night. Everything about BMI is amazing. All staff at BMI are friendly, kind and sincere. "The show (Rave On) was brilliant. We had the most wonderful evening - we didn't want it to end." The pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, was also praised by a visitor in December 2024, who said it was "amazing" and "great value." They added that the staff are "friendly and very helpful." The recognition is a significant boost for the theatre, which was saved from being closed earlier this year. It was announced in April that the popular theatre would remain open after a "major funding boost". The decision to close the theatre was made in February after Caerphilly County Borough Council agreed its budget for the 2023/24 financial year. The council previously said this was due to the "scale of the financial challenge" it faces and the "urgent need" to make savings and generate income.

I stayed at the budget Travelodge hotel that can save you money before a flight

IF you need an airport hotel without the steep cost, then there is a Travelodge just one stop away that can be half the price. Here is everything you need to know about staying at the Travelodge Crawley. 3 Where is the Travelodge Crawley hotel? The budget hotel is a short walk from Crawley Train Station, which is less than an hour from central London. The walk is easy, going through the centre of town and is a great affordable option near the airport. What is the hotel like? The hotel is what you would expect from a Travelodge - simple but clean. There is an on-site restaurant where you will find the breakfast being served. Otherwise there are vending machines with snacks for late night munchies What are the rooms like at the hotel? My Super Room room is one of the newly designed rooms, with a large double bed so soft that I fell asleep quickly after a late night arrival. Along with a working desk, Freeview TV and chair there are tea and coffee making facilities (and the classic bottle opener attached to the side of the wall). I loved that there was USB chargers in the walls as I am always forgetting to bring a plug. Our bathroom didn't have any hand soap in the machine, so we had to lean over and use the soap in the shower. Despite this, the room was extremely clean, with fresh towels and extra bedding if needed. Rooms start from £35 - nearly half of the average price you will pay for a Travelodge near the airport. What is there to eat or drink there? The breakfast buffet is small, with a few hot and cold options. I was slightly disappointed that you had to request vegetarian sausages to be cooked, with just bacon, pork sausages, hash browns, eggs and beans on offer already made. But if you want something quick and easy without having to go too far, it will definitely fill you up for the day. Don't forget, kids under the age of 14 get to eat for £1 per adult. Otherwise the bar serves alcoholic drinks like wine and beer, as well as food from 5pm to 10pm from nachos and pizza to burgers and curries. 3 What else is there to do there? Being an affordable hotel chain, there is little else to do in the hotel itself. But it is in a great location, being a short walk from the nearby shopping centre. All of the pubs and bars are also a short walk away if you want a night out on the town. Otherwise it is a great option if you have a flight to London Gatwick but don't want to pay the price of an airport hotel. Taxis take around 10-15 minutes from the hotel to the airport, while the train is one stop and takes 9 minutes. Is the hotel family friendly? The hotel has some family rooms with adjoining doors, as well as cots on request, depending on availability. Is there access for guests with disabilities? The hotel has two lifts, as well as a number of accessible rooms. Looking for a place to stay? For more hotel inspiration click here. 3
