Meghan's ‘essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments' wine sells out in under hour

The Duchess of Sussex's new rose wine, which is said to 'capture the essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments' and costs more than £20 a bottle, has sold out within an hour.
Meghan launched her As Ever Napa Valley Rose 2023, described as having 'soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish', on Tuesday.
The beverage, priced at more than £65 for a minimum three-bottle order, had only appeared to be available for US customers to buy, with shipping addresses limited to America.
Meghan and the Duke of Sussex left the UK and moved to California five years ago for a new life after stepping down from the working monarchy.

The wine went on sale at 4pm UK time, but the site was updated less than hour later to signal stocks were sold out.
In a post on Instagram, the duchess' As Ever brand said: 'It's here! Raise a glass to the newest addition to the As ever family. Our beautiful Napa Valley rose is now available'.
A short clip showed the wine being poured into a glass, with accompanying sound.
The pale pink wine, in a clear bottle with a white gold-rimmed label, was launched on a dedicated wine.asever.com where an over-21 birth date must be inputted to enter and where the drink was described as: 'A delicately balanced rose with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish.'
The site adds: 'Reminiscent of the finest Provencal styles, it's crisp, pale in color, and effortlessly elegant – crafted for slow afternoons and golden-hour gatherings.
'This rose captures the essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments through its thoughtfully crafted blend.'

The wine was not available to buy in orders of less than three bottles.
Three bottles cost 90 US dollars (£65.64), six bottles cost 159 dollars (£115.97) including a 12% discount, and 12 bottles are priced at 300 dollars (£218.81) including a 17% discount.
Shipping, which begins on July 9, cost an additional flat rate 20 dollars (£14.59) per order.
Meghan's wine has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 14.5%.
According to the Drink Aware charity, most wines have an ABV of around 11-14%.
Meghan added apricot jam to her collection in June after restocking her online store, with items selling out for a second time in a row.

The duchess was shown drinking rose during the last episode of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan earlier this year when she offered chef Alice Waters a glass of wine.
'Would you like a glass of rose while we're cooking?' the duchess said, pouring from a bottle which does not appear to be As Ever wine, having a different label.
Meghan added as she drank: 'Might be the best sip of wine I've ever had.'

Rylan Clark says 'it's time to know the truth' after Tulisa's confession

Rylan Clark has paid tribute to Tulisa Contostavlos following the release of her tell-all memoir. Former X-Factor judge and N-Dubz star Tulisa, real name Tula Paulinea Contostavlos, released her memoir, Judgement: Love, Trials and Tribulations, this month. In the book, the I'm A Celebrity star, 37, opens up about the pain of having a sex tape leaked and being wrongly accused of drug dealing. She also reveals how she twice attempted to take her own life while standing trial for the drugs allegations. The case was dismissed from court in 2014, when prosecution witness and 'fake sheikh' journalist Mazher Mahmood was found to have tampered with evidence. Celebrity pal Rylan, 36, has paid tribute to Tulisa's journey, writing how 'it's time to know the truth' about his friend and fellow X-Factor star. Taking to Instagram, Rylan shared an image of himself with Tulisa, writing in the caption: 'Never been prouder @tulisacontostavlos.' He continued: 'From 2012 to now we've been through a lot and I'm so proud we stayed by each others side. Now it's time for everyone to know your truth. 'We've never publicised it, we've just been there for each other. I'm so happy your words will now be heard by everyone. Tulisa's book Judgement is out now x #Day1.' In the comments below Rylan's post, Tulisa wrote: 'Love you will [sic] all my heart you beautiful earth angel.' Tulisa first rose to fame as a member of hip-hop trio N-Dubz, alongside Dappy and Fazer. After releasing smash hits Number 1, I Need You and Playing With Fire, Tulisa served as a judge on X-Factor between 2011 and 2012. However, her career took a devastating turn when ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards allegedly released a seven-minute sex tape of her online. In the book, Tulisa has opened up about what she describes as her 'year from hell.' 'When the sex tape had come out, I had slept on the bathroom floor for five days,' Tulisa wrote. Revenge porn, at the time, was not illegal, and all Tulisa received from ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards was 'sincere apologies,' via London's High Court. After the case was closed, Tulisa said: 'I am relieved that this is finally over. It has been a very testing few months and this was not a case I ever wanted to go through. 'I stand here today a stronger, wiser young woman who has taken this experience and learnt from it. I am disgusted by Justin and saddened by the people that believed I released the footage myself.' Her lawyer made clear this was 'not the case' and called the ordeal 'the most severe invasion of privacy imaginable'. During her trial the following year – in which she was accused of supplying Class A drugs – Tulisa was found unconscious in the bathroom. More Trending 'What's the point in being alive just to be miserable?' she wrote. 'How am I ever going to find happiness after this? Even if I'm found innocent, I'll be empty inside by the time I get to the end of it, and my life will be ruined.' She was revived but, months later, attempted to take her own life for a second time. She was arrested after an elaborate sting operation and denied the charges. View More » The case collapsed after the judge believed the prosecution's witness to have lied in court. David Tennant loves role of sinister villain terrorising Hollywood's biggest names in new Netflix murder mystery

A bunch of golden oldies solve cold cases for fun until a death at their retirement village leaves them facing a real whodunnit. KILLING IT David Tennant loves role of sinister villain terrorising Hollywood's biggest names in new Netflix murder mystery Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DAVID TENNANT is killing it as a ruthless villain in his new murder mystery movie – while taking on some of the biggest names in showbiz. Giles Keyte / Courtesy of Ne 3 David still tries to see the good qualities of his character. They play a bunch of golden oldies who solved cold cases for fun until the death of builder Tony Curran at their retirement village left them facing a real whodunnit. But cracking the case proves tough as David's character Ian Ventham, who owns the Coopers Chase complex, is determined to oust them so he can redevelop the site. The Doctor Who actor, of Bathgate, West Lothian, said of playing unscrupulous Ventham: 'He's got all the signs of success, but he's facing a big divorce settlement and he needs to make more money fast. 'He lacks empathy, diplomacy and charisma and he's self-interested to an alarming extent. 'Originally, Ventham was brought in by Tony Curran to develop the Coopers Chase retirement village. 'But after Curran's death, he intends to push ahead with a plan to displace the residents and redevelop the site.' Despite the fact 'sinister' Ventham has few redeeming qualities, David still tries to see the good in him. He said: 'He's not the most sympathetic character. You're always trying to see your character's point of view, so I don't particularly see him as a villain or as a ne'er do well. 'He's just someone who's got himself in a very particular situation and doesn't have the people skills to get through life with as much charm as one might hope he should have.' The movie plot is based on former Pointless presenter Richard Osman's bestselling novel, also The Thursday Murder Club, which was the UK's most successful book of the decade. Star of 'The Thursday Murder Club' looks unrecognisable on set Film director Chris Columbus, famed for Harry Potter, Home Alone and Mrs Doubtfire, said he had a lifelong ambition to see David cast in one of his productions. He explained: 'David Tennant is simply one of our greatest living actors. I was a huge fan of his performances in shows like Broadchurch and Des, along with his theatre work in Macbeth. 'David's name was soon added to the list of actors I vowed to someday work with. I was thrilled when he agreed to play Ian Ventham in our film. 'He has the ability to portray a sinister villain like Ventham, a man with very few redeeming qualities, and make the audience believe that this person truly exists, that they are watching a real human being on screen.' Helen Mirren plays Elizabeth Best, the leader of the amateur sleuthing gang and an intelligent strategist who may have been a spy in a past life. Meanwhile, Pierce Brosnan is Ron Ritchie, a would-be comedian, militant and high-profile trade union activist dubbed 'Red Ron' by the Press, whose son is an ex-boxing champion. His best pal is psychiatrist Ibrahim Arif, played by Ben Kingsley. And former nurse Joyce Meadowcroft, a newcomer to Coopers Chase after being widowed, is portrayed by Celia Imrie. Helen said: 'I was one of the many millions who read the book and loved it. I couldn't put it down and was utterly charmed by it. 'And reading it, you do think 'This could be a movie'. 'I could tell immediately the character I would be most suitable for. My friends who read the book also said, 'If they ever make a movie, you have to play Elizabeth'. 'We can tell that she was someone powerful and substantial, but it's all a bit secret. Was she a high level politician? Was she a high level operative in MI5 or MI6? 'She never quite talks about it, but we get a sense. She's tough, she's smart and she's witnessed some heavy-duty things.' But Helen reveals the film also carries an important message. She added: 'It has these absolutely serious issues within it as well, the issues that you have to deal with the further you get into your life. 'The diminishing of your mind and body, and how to deal with that. The murder mystery is the foundation, but it's not the essence. 'The essence of the film are the characters and their humanity.' Pierce said Chris Columbus, who he worked with on 1993 Hollywood blockbuster Mrs Doubtfire, 'seems to come around every ten years or so with wonderful jobs' for him. 'Ron is a stout fellow of good character,' he added of his role. 'He doesn't particularly want to be at Coopers Chase, but there's a time in life when you just have to hang up your spurs.' Meanwhile, Celia beamed: 'The minute I got the part, I went whizzing down to the bookshop, buying all The Thursday Murder Club copies I could lay my hands on. I was trying to find little snippets of exactly what Joyce got up to. 'Every now and then in the book, I'd find marvellous little details about Joyce's love of particular television programmes, using her napkin at the lunch table because she thinks it makes her look clever or putting the chairs out at a meeting because she thinks people will like her better.' The Thursday Murder Club is the first of four novels, with a fifth set for release this autumn. So far, the series has sold more than 10million copies. Although the books have enjoyed far-reaching success, and been translated into 46 different languages, Richard didn't have to look far for inspiration. The entire concept is based on his mum Brenda, who he hopes can show other pensioners they still have plenty left in the tank. He said: 'My mum lives in a retirement village in the south of England. It's very beautiful, very bucolic and it looks like just the place where Agatha Christie would set a murder. 'And when I was talking to the people that live there — all over 75 — they've all done extraordinary things with their lives and have amazing stories. I thought, 'What if there was a murder here? I bet you these people could solve it'. 'That idea was what I was trying to tap into with The Thursday Murder Club — the notion that there is a generation who have done extraordinary things, have extraordinary skill sets and wisdom and they have become overlooked. 'They've become underestimated, almost invisible. And if you combine being invisible with being wise, then you have the perfect skill set for a detective.' The Thursday Murder Club will be released on Netflix on August 28 and in selected cinemas from August 22.

The ITV2 reality show will kick off the new series with a cast trip to Portugal. ‌ Fans won't have to wait much longer for the return of the show, as it airs on Sunday 17 August on ITV2 and ITVX. ‌ Despite some fresh faces joining the mix, viewers are still captivated by the original cast members who brought drama, fights and romances that the British public couldn't resist. ‌ It's been 15 years since we first met characters like James Argent and Amy Childs, but what are the original TOWIE cast up to now? Mark Wright From the moment he burst onto our screens, Mark Wright was the ultimate heartthrob. In the first series, Mark was dating his childhood sweetheart Lauren Goodger, and was often seen with his best mate James Argent. Since then, Mark has become one of TOWIE's most successful alumni. He's now married to the incredibly talented Michelle Keegan, and they welcomed their first child together in 2015, ten years after tying the knot. Now 38, Mark works as a DJ on Heart radio and runs his own health and fitness company, Live Wright. He also renovated his marital home with Michelle, sharing stunning photos of the transformation on Instagram. ‌ Amy Childs (Series 1, 2 and current) Amy became a viewer darling the moment she graced our screens thanks to her bubbly and entertaining character, and naturally, she made the word "vajazzle" famous which had Essex completely obsessed. Following her stint in the opening two series of TOWIE, Amy landed her own programme titled It's All About Amy, and took part in Celebrity Big Brother, finishing in fourth place in 2011. ‌ Amy has recently returned to the reality programme. She's also mum to four youngsters, and is in a romance with First Dates personality Billy Delbosq. Maria Fowler (Series 1-3) Maria was part of the programme from day one but later stunned audiences when she embarked on a short-lived on-screen relationship with the late Mick Norcross. ‌ But her television journey took a different direction when claims emerged that she'd been working as an escort. Following three series she departed the popular reality programme 'by mutual consent'. Maria has since withdrawn from public attention and is now a devoted mother of two. She welcomed her second baby in 2021. The former reality personality is wed to Kalvin Batey and describes herself as a permanent makeup specialist. ‌ Harry Derbridge (Series 1-3 and current) Harry was amongst TOWIE's founding members and has remained a legendary fixture of the programme to this day due to his extravagant character and mischievous quips. The personality stepped away from the programme before making a short comeback in the 2014 series and is presently part of the lineup after returning permanently in 2022. ‌ Sam Faiers (Series 1-11) Sam Faiers, a key figure in the inaugural episode of TOWIE, was at the heart of many dramatic storylines and rollercoaster romances. Initially, she was entangled with Mark Wright, despite his on-again off-again relationship with Lauren Goodger. In the second series, Sam kindled a romance with Joey Essex, leading to their engagement in the eighth series. ‌ In March 2014, Sam announced her temporary departure from TOWIE after the conclusion of its eleventh series, due to her diagnosis with Crohn's disease. She later starred in The Mummy Diaries on ITVBe alongside her sister Billie and their families, but left the show in 2021. The reality star is also a mother to Paul, eight, Rosie, six, and Edward, two, whom she shares with her boyfriend Paul Knightley. She co-founded Revive Collagen and resides in Hertfordshire. ‌ Billie Faiers (Series 2-18) Following in her sister's footsteps, Billie joined the TOWIE cast in the second series. Unlike her sister, she wasn't involved in any romantic storylines, but often found herself in the midst of heated arguments. After making a significant name for herself and establishing a personal brand, Billie decided to leave the reality show after five years to focus on her family and other business ventures. ‌ Billie has been married to Greg Shepherd since 2019, and they have three children together. She frequently posts pictures of her family holidays, snaps of her beautiful home, and updates on her career, including her upcoming reality TV school with sister Sam. Joey Essex (Series 1-10) Joey Essex, a regular on the reality TV circuit, has appeared in numerous shows since his TOWIE days. His credits include I'm a Celeb, Love Island, Celebs Go Dating, and Dancing on Ice, to name just a few. ‌ He's also been linked with a string of famous faces, including Love Island's Jessy Potts and Grace Jackson, as well as Stephanie Pratt from Celebs Go Dating. Currently, Joey is partnering with Amazon and attending a host of exclusive events. Lucy Mecklenburgh (Series 1-10) Lucy Mecklenburgh not only won over viewers during her time on TOWIE but also captured the hearts of Mark and later Mario on the show. She continues to be a force to be reckoned with, enjoying a highly successful career. ‌ Since leaving TOWIE, Lucy has collaborated with brands like Very and PrettyLittleThing. She also runs her own company, RWL, which promotes women's health and happiness through exercise. In her personal life, Lucy is engaged to actor Ryan Thomas, and they have two children together. The couple frequently share affectionate posts on Instagram, including recent snaps from their stunning holiday to St Kitts. James 'Arg' Argent (series 1-19 and 21-23) ‌ Arg became a household name after appearing on the reality show in 2010 with then-girlfriend Lydia Bright. Following his initial split from Lydia, he had an on-again, off-again relationship with Gemma Collins. Between 2013 and 2015, Gemma was in a relationship with newcomer Rami Hawash, while Arg rekindled his romance with Lydia. In October 2014, Argent was temporarily suspended from The Only Way Is Essex due to a failed drugs test. He made a comeback to the series but exited in 2018. ‌ After his stint on TOWIE, Arg and Gemma continued their tumultuous relationship until it ended abruptly when she received a string of distressing text messages from him. Arg has also battled with body image issues and in 2021 he revealed that he had undergone gastric sleeve surgery. Last year, he introduced his new girlfriend Nicoline Artursson to the public before making a one-off return to TOWIE for the Christmas special. He's now split with Nicoline following an incident in Spain when he pushed his now ex-girlfriend down a flight of stairs, causing the injuries, reported the Mirror earlier this year. He admitted his crime at a court in Spain where he received a six-month suspended prison sentence and a two-year restraining order. ‌ Lydia Bright (Series 1-9 and 11-20) Lydia catapulted to fame as part of the original cast of The Only Way is Essex in 2010. She became renowned for her turbulent relationship with fellow cast member James 'Arg' Argent. Lydia and Arg's relationship history extends even beyond TOWIE as they have been in an on-and-off relationship since their teenage years. However, after his infidelity and drug use, Lydia decided to end things. ‌ In August 2019, Lydia announced that she was expecting a baby. Loretta, born in March 2020, is Lydia's first child with her ex-partner Lee Cronin. In 2024, Lydia introduced her new boyfriend Ben Davies to the public, but confirmed she was single again by the end of the year. Chloe Sims (Series 1-23) ‌ Chloe Sims, one of the longest-serving cast members of The Only Way Is Essex, left the show in 2022 along with her sisters Frankie and Demi Sims following off-camera 'disagreements'. The rumours were confirmed when Chloe announced in July 2022 that she and her sisters would be leaving TOWIE to start their own show on OnlyFans TV, titled House Of Sims. Her brother, former TOWIE star Charlie Sims, and his fiancée Georgia Shults are also part of the new venture. Chloe is currently living it up in LA and was recently linked romantically to Lionel Richie's son. ‌ Lauren Goodger (Series 1-6 and 16-19) Lauren was a TOWIE OG and during the first season she was in a relationship with Mark Wright before they split in 2012 after dating for 10 years. She was on the show on and off for a few seasons before returning properly in 2024. She welcomed her daughter Larose into the world in 2021 with then-boyfriend Charles Drury. Lauren sadly lost her second daughter shortly after giving birth and has since split from Charles. The Only Way is Essex will be back on Sunday, 17th August on ITV2 and ITVX.
