EastEnders star Charlie Brooks shows off extreme weight loss in skimpy black dress

EastEnders star, Charlie Brooks, famous for playing Janine Butcher on the BBC soap, has shown off the results of her recent weight loss, posing in a dress she bought 22 years ago
EastEnders actress, Charlie Brooks, has posted a jaw-dropping snap on Instagram in which she shows off the results of her extreme weight loss. The mum-of-one, 44, famous for playing the conniving Janine Butcher on the BBC soap, poses up a storm in the photo in which she wears a slinky black dress she bought 22 years ago, telling fans she was "very happy".

She captioned the selfie in which she sports the geometric print mini dress, chunky black boots, gold jewellery and with her blonde locks piled on top of her head: "Bought this dress over 22 years ago, before my kid was born, and I STILL love it. It actually makes me feel very happy. Funny how a piece of clothing can do that. My face doesn't look happy. But I am actually very happy."

Charlie's followers loved the post, with one replying: "Love it! Bonus it still fits and you look amazing!! Xx." While another gushed: "You look gorgeous! I love that dress! This is stunning!!"
The soap legend, who gave birth to her daughter Kiki, who she shares with ex fiancé, Tony Truman, 20 years ago, previously admitted she'd become "slightly obsessive" with losing weight after dropping two stone in two months.
Charlie filmed her fitness DVD, Charlie Brooks' Before & After Workout, in 2005, but later revealed how the process effected her confidence.

Speaking with The Sun's Fabulous Magazine in 2021, Charlie revealed she'd had "quite a complicated relationship" with her body and went "all in" when she filmed her DVD.
She said: "I don't regret it, because it gave me an awareness of my body, but on the other hand, I crossed over into that kind of slightly obsessive weight loss thing.

"You know, always wanting to get back to "that".
"I've definitely had quite a complicated relationship with my body, never feeling pretty enough or healthy enough, and with the DVD it was extreme. I went all in."
Charlie added that she still struggles at times and heartbreakingly admitted she can feel "disgusting", but is now about "70 per cent" of the way to accepting her body.

Last week, Charlie revealed she's currently not working, two and a half years after her epic soap exit.
Best-known for playing Janine on the long-running hit UK television show, Charlie recently took to Instagram to talk about life since leaving the BBC series.
Sharing a picture in which the actress can be seen grinning from ear-to-ear while donning a black ensemble with sunglasses to match, Charlie captioned her post: 'Life is good. As someone who is generally validated by work…Turns out being at home, chilling with my dog, taking long walks, reforming, reading and actually getting to hang out with my friends doing everything and nothing makes me really f**king happy.'

EastEnders' Joel Marshall finally punished for sick acts after shock 'illegal' discovery

EastEnders' Ross Marshall made a disturbing discovery on Joel's laptop in tonight's episode of the BBC soap - has he finally had enough of his son's sick behaviour? Joel Marshall was caught by his father Ross in tonight's episode of EastEnders, as he made a shock discovery on his son's laptop. ‌ Since joining the show earlier this year, fans have been aware of Joel's misogynistic mindset and have witnessed some of his sick acts, including assaulting a stranger on a tube and recording himself being intimate with Avani. It was later revealed that Ross paid off a girls' mother in Australia, after he had up skirted a girl in his class. ‌ Ross later found the video of Avani, but Joel managed to talk himself out of things once again. In tonight's episode however, it appeared Joel's father had finally had enough of his sick acts - as he made a shock discovery. It comes after an EastEnders legend was rushed to hospital after a deadly attack by a familiar face. ‌ Ross and Joel sat down in the living room sharing beers as Joel showed his father a video of influencer Drake Zagan, who he seems to idolise. As Joel walked out the room, Ross was left disgusted when he heard Drake saying feminism was a lie, and that a women's only job is to find a boyfriend. He was then left raging when he found a number of "100% illegal" up skirting and changing room videos on his teenage son's laptop, as he threw his laptop in the sink with the water running. ‌ "I do not want this filth in my house!", Ross exclaimed. "You are a revolting, arrogant disgusting little pervert!" Fans were left overjoyed that Ross had finally clocked on to how much of a "creep" his son was. ‌ Taking to Reddit, one fan penned: "Hallelujah Ross has finally wised up to his creepy son," as another penned: "Why has it taken that long for Ross to realise what a creep his son is? At least he's finally doing something about it." Another fan wrote: "wheyyyy ross finally grew a fkn backbone." The explosive scenes come just after Joel's mum was mentioned for the first time. Last night, we learnt Joel's mum was called Cleo, and cheated on Ross while in Australia. It came after fans believed his mum was Zoe Slater, in line with her return. ‌ Despite this, fans are still convinced that Zoe is Joel's mum, with many believing Cleo is a "cover up name." There's more drama for Joel next week, as spoilers reveal he's left reeling when he finds out Avani has had a termination without him even knowing she was pregnant with his baby. How will the storyline progress - and will we ever meet Joel's mum?

Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar defends rap group Kneecap: ‘Everybody got too heated about them'

Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar has said people 'jumped to conclusions' about rap trio Kneecap, who have been in the headlines since one of their members was charged with a terror offence. The Belfast group, known for their provocative lyrics and championing of the Irish language, were also banned from entering Hungary to appear at a music festival. Kneecap have had several shows cancelled in recent months, including TRNSMT festival in Glasgow and at the Eden Project in Cornwall in July. The group has said there is a smear campaign against them because of their support for Palestine and criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza. Dunbar, 67, who recently went to a Kneecap gig with his daughter, was asked if the BBC was wrong not to live stream their Glastonbury performance in June. He told Times Radio: 'Were they wrong not to stream it? I think that's a question for the BBC, not for me. 'But I do think that everybody got too heated about them. I think everybody jumped to conclusions about them. 'I think they're a band of good musicians. They make great music. They're promoting the Irish language. Very clear about who they support and who they don't support. 'We had a great time. But those decisions are for the BBC.' Glastonbury organisers faced pressure to drop the group from the line-up amid criticism from politicians, with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer saying it would not be 'appropriate' for the band to perform. The BBC decided not to live stream their performance but later uploaded the set to BBC iPlayer. Kneecap – comprised of Liam Og O hAnnaidh, Naoise O Caireallain and JJ O Dochartaigh – were formed in Belfast and released their first single in 2017. They hit headlines in April when footage emerged that appeared to show a band member saying 'Kill your local MP' at one gig and and 'Up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at another. In May, O hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara, was charged with a terrorism offence relating to allegedly displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah at a London gig in November 2024. O hAnnaidh and his bandmates were cheered by hundreds of supporters when they arrived at Westminster Magistrates' Court on June 18. Musicians including Nadine Shah and Gurriers have said they will attend court to support the group when O hAnnaidh returns on August 20. Kneecap have apologised to the families of murdered MPs and said they have 'never supported' Hamas or Hezbollah, which are banned in the UK. They were also investigated over their set at Glastonbury in June, but Avon and Somerset Police said they would be taking no further action.
