Last Updated:
V and RM are the latest members of the septet to complete their 18-month mandatory military service.
The day ARMYs across the globe have been eagerly waiting for is finally here! BTS stars Kim Namjoon (RM) and Kim Taehyung (V) were officially discharged on Tuesday, June 10, after completing their 18-month mandatory military service. With this, the duo becomes the latest among the BTS septet to finish their enlistment, marking another milestone in the group's return.
From heartwarming posts and fan projects to trending hashtags, RM and V's return has created a wave of happiness that is hard to miss. And if you are still wondering who the two BTS stars are, fret not. We have got you covered. Here's everything you need to know about Kim Namjoon and Kim Taehyung.
Who Is BTS' RM?
Kim Namjoon, aka Rap Monster or Real Me (RM), is the leader of the globally renowned K-pop band BTS. His love for poetry from childhood piqued his interest in the performing arts. He began his career in music as rapper Runch Randa, rapping in local hip-hop circles and later joining the underground Korean Hip-hop scene.
In June 2013, he debuted with Big Hit Entertainment's (now HYBE) boy group, BTS. Besides his work with the septet, RM also managed to carve a niche for himself as a solo artist. Just two years after his debut with the group, he began his career as a soloist, releasing his single titled P.D.D. (Please Don't Die). It was a collaboration with American rapper Warren G. He released his debut self-titled mixtape, RM, in March 2015. In 2018, he released his second mixtape, Mono, followed by his first studio album, Indigo, in 2022.

While serving in the military, RM released his second studio album, Right Place, Wrong Person, followed by a documentary which captured the making of the project titled Right People, Wrong Place.
He enlisted at the Korean Army Training Centre in Nonsan in December 2023 and served with the military band of the 15th Infantry Division till his discharge on June 10.
Who Is BTS' V?
Kim Taehyung, best known to his fans as V, is one of the vocalists and visuals of BTS. While he has been interested in singing and dancing since childhood, V never planned to audition for Big Hit Entertainment. He accompanied his friend to the audition for the company, and as fate would have it, V ended up getting selected for BTS. Besides his work with the septet, the singer also sang a few K-drama OSTs, including It's Definitely You from Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth and Christmas Tree from Our Beloved Summer.
In September 2023, V released his first-ever solo studio album, Layover. It immediately ranked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. In December last year, during his military service, the BTS star dropped two singles, White Christmas and Winter Ahead.

He enlisted on December 11 and, after the completion of his basic training, was assigned to the Special Task Force of the Military Police Corps. He also got discharged along with RM.

BTS stars Jimin and Jung Kook discharged from military service ahead of reunion- WATCH
K-pop superstars Jimin and Jung Kook, the youngest members of BTS, were officially discharged from South Korea's mandatory military service on Wednesday. Clad in military uniforms, the duo saluted and greeted a crowd of devoted fans and reporters who had gathered to welcome them outside the army base. 'Actually, it's been so long since I've been in front of cameras, and I didn't even put on makeup, so I'm a bit embarrassed,' Jung Kook admitted with a laugh. 'I don't know what to say.' The two won hearts with their 'shy' reactions to all the attention. The boys, who were presented with large bouquets, at one point, hid their faces behind the flowers and laughed it out. Jimin and Jung Kook enlisted together in December 2023, just one day after their bandmates RM and V began their service. RM and V were discharged on Tuesday, receiving an equally emotional send-off from fans who lined the streets of Chuncheon City to cheer them on. V, addressing fans following his release, expressed gratitude for their enduring support and hinted at the group's long-anticipated reunion. 'If you can just wait a little bit longer, we will return with a really amazing performance,' he said. With Wednesday's discharge, six of BTS's seven members have now completed their national duties. Jin, the group's eldest, was the first to be discharged in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October the same year. The only remaining member currently in service is Suga, who has been serving as a social service agent, an alternative form of military duty. His discharge is expected later this month. Back in 2020, the BTS boys were under the radar after an amendment to the Military Service Act allowed them members to delay enlistment until age 30 in recognition of their global cultural impact. In 2022, after widespread public debate over whether the band should be granted a full exemption, the group's management, BigHit Music, announced that all seven members would fulfil their national obligations, ending speculation and winning praise for their civic commitment. HYBE has hinted at a BTS comeback this year, but has also said the members "need time for reflection and preparation". "Normally, the process goes from song production to album release, then a tour," Lee Jae-sang, CEO of HYBE, told a shareholder meeting in March. "But since BTS have already become global top-tier artists, we are continuing discussions about their vision and what's next," he added.

Aamir Khan Spotted With GF Gauri Spratt, Poses With Fans At Mumbai Airport
Last Updated: Aamir Khan and his ladylove Gauri Spratt rocked comfy casual outfits as they arrived together at Mumbai Airport on Tuesday. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and his ladylove Gauri Spratt were spotted by the paparazzi on Tuesday. The couple arrived at the Mumbai Airport, and were seen quickly making their way inside the airport. Aamir, who is gearing up for the release of his film Sitaare Zameen Par, was also seen happily obliging his fans for selfies as they approached him at the airport. Aamir and Gauri's relationship has been making headlines ever since the superstar introduced his girlfriend to the media, in an informal meet-and-greet ahead of his 60 th birthday. A video shared by paparazzo Viral Bhayani shows Gauri Spratt first stepping out of the car, holding a huge pillow. She then quickly made her way to the airport gate. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan stepped out after her. While he also seemed to be in a hurry, he did happily pose for pictures with his fans who approached him. Both Gauri and Aamir rocked comfortable and casual airport looks. While Gauri donned a blue short kurti with denim jeans, Aamir was also seen in a red printed kurta with jeans. Check out the video below! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) Recently, in a conversation with Raj Shamani, Aamir admitted that following his divorce from Kiran Rao in 2021, he wasn't looking to fall in love again. 'Before I met Gauri, I felt like I had aged… Who will I find at this age?" Aamir reflected. 'Therapy really helped me understand that I needed to love myself first. I had to heal and work on my own emotional health." He further added, 'Gauri and I met by mistake. We connected, became friends… and love happened." Meanwhile, on the professional front, Aamir Khan will soon be seen in the film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', which also stars Genelia Deshmukh, and brings together a cast of 10 neurodivergent actors. In a conversation with News18 Showsha, Aamir explained that the story felt like a natural continuation of the message his 2007 film 'Taare Zameen Par' tried to deliver. 'The script felt like an extension of what we were trying to say in Taare. That film was about inclusion, about a child with a learning disability. But in Sitaare, the challenge is even greater. It deals with individuals who have intellectual disabilities—children on the autism spectrum, with Down syndrome—who are much more atypical compared to dyslexia. And what's even more beautiful is that this time, it's not the neurotypical person helping them, but the other way around. The neurodivergent kids help the coach. That's why I feel this film goes ten steps ahead in the same theme," he said. Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy drama film directed by R. S. Prasanna, and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. It will release in theatres on June 20, 2025. First Published:
