The Scottish performer's mother, Dawn Searle, and stepfather, Andrew Searle, were found dead at their home in Les Pesquies, south of the commune of Villefranche-de-Rouergue in France Feb. 6, multiple outlets have reported. They are survived by Callum, 30, and his sister and Andrew's two children from a previous relationship.
A family statement about the tragedy was posted on the actor's Instagram Feb. 8. "At this time, Callum and Amanda Kerr are grieving the loss of their mother, Dawn Searle (née Smith, Kerr)," the message read, "while Tom Searle and Ella Searle are mourning the loss of their father, Andrew Searle."
The post continued, "No family member is available for media interviews or comments. We kindly request that their privacy be respected during this difficult period. We will provide updates as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding."
The causes of the deaths of Dawn, 56, and Andrew, 62, have not been released.

Villefranche-de-Rouergue Mayor Jean-Sébastien Orcibal has also spoken out about the tragedy.
"I was phoned yesterday at around 12.30pm as mayor to be told that two bodies were found in their property," he told the U.K. newspaper the Telegraph Feb. 7. 'With the local police and gendarmes, we went to the house to secure the property. Both to shut off access to the house but also to make sure that no one could get out, as an intervention was carried out to make sure that no suspects remained in the house."
The mayor noted that crime was typically low in the area, adding, "We've only had one burglary in a neighbourhod in years."
Orcibal also said he had officiated the couple's 2023 wedding ceremony, in which Callum played a special part.
"Not many people can say they walked their own mother down the aisle," the actor wrote in September of that year on Instagram., alongside a pic of himself, wearing a traditional Scottish kilt, escorting his mother. "What a pleasure!! I love you mum. Congrats to Dawn and Andy on their wonderful wedding day and here's to a tremendous life together for the happy couple."
Andrew, who used to work as a financial fraud investigator, and Dawn both retired to France around 10 years ago, the newspaper reported.
"They were British but they really wanted to integrate into local life," Orcibal said. "Every year they invited more than a hundred people for a drink at their home."
The mayor continued, 'They had two pedigree dogs that they walked along the river every day. And every time they bumped up into someone, more than a quick 'bonjour', they would stop and talk. They were very kind and courteous."
Johan Herault, who runs a tour company based in the area, said the couple's deaths come "as a terrible shock."
"They were such lovely people," he told the newspaper. "My wife was very good friends with Dawn. She is from New Zealand and liked speaking English with them. We often went to see them."
Andrew, he said, "never mentioned that he was in any danger," adding, "This is an incredibly calm and peaceful area. It doesn't make any sense."

Ex-prisoners welcome second chance at jobs fair

A jobs fair at an East Sussex prison was described as "life-changing" by a former inmate. Frazer Trought, who is on licence after serving 10 years in prison for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, said he was offered a job after a previous event. He said: "They empowered me to prove my worth by giving me responsibility and allowing me to work hard and prove myself as a reliable employee." BBC South East was given exclusive access to the HMP Lewes Careers Day, organised by Balfour Beatty, where businesses offer career mentoring as part of wider efforts to reduce re-offending. Mr Trought said: "When I was in prison, I had a lot of time to think about my actions and the repercussions were catastrophic for my family, friends and society." He said the support he received from a previous Balfour Beatty jobs fair helped him turn his life around and secured a job with Triplex. John Burton was previously jailed for drug importation, tax evasion and money laundering, and released in 2017. He said: "Crime doesn't pay, you will get caught. While I was in prison I said to myself I must get rehabilitated because I wanted to support myself and my family." He has a company, Inside Connections, which is now managed by his children. Mr Burton said his family had never been involved in crime and he was determined to turn his life around for them. Imogen Emmerson, who is a prison employment lead for HM Prison and Probation Service, said jobs were "key to rehabilitation". "We see most offenders who go into work within the first six months don't re-offend," she added. Ms Emmerson said while there is still stigma attached to former offenders, but some employers are prepared to take the initial risk and give them a chance. "A lot of prisoners are keen to work and they are doing it for reasons other than earning a pay cheque," she added. "They want to show they have the motivation to turn their lives around. We see stable employment as a game-changer for their confidence." Ms Emmerson said there had been more than 100 job offers via career fairs. Ceri Turner, the social impact manager for Balfour Beatty Living Places, said it was beneficial for businesses to employ former prisoners as the country has an ageing workforce. "We recognise people deserve a second chance and there is commercial value in having a diverse team in the company," she added. Follow BBC Sussex on Facebook, on X, and on Instagram. Former Royal Palm Beach High employee pleads guilty to sex charge involving student

ROYAL PALM BEACH — A former Royal Palm Beach High School non-instructional employee pleaded guilty June 6 to unlawful sexual contact with a minor and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with a chance to serve less time if he meets certain conditions. Circuit Judge Caroline Shepherd agreed to mitigate Jordan Augustine's sentence to two years followed by three years of sex-offender probation if Augustine surrenders to the court June 27 without committing any new law violations before then. Augustine, 31, a former behavioral health specialist at Royal Palm Beach High, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor by an authority figure of a school. He was arrested in April 2024 after Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office investigators alleged that he had sexual contact with a student who was under age 18 at the time. More: State Attorney arrests seven West Palm Beach police officers for roles in fatal Boynton chase Investigators said the unlawful contact occurred off campus after Augustine and the student communicated via the social-media platform Instagram. The student, a 17-year-old girl, described to investigators having one sexual encounter with Augustine, who was 30 at the time. Following his arrest, Augustine was placed on administrative leave, and then-Principal Michelle Fleming informed parents and staff that he would not be returning to the campus. Assistant State Attorney Nicole Corring told the court the victim and her guardian supported the plea, with their main concern being that Augustine be required to register as a sex offender and no longer have the opportunity to work with children. Shepherd issued an order declaring Augustine a sex offender. The age of consent for sexual activity in Florida is 18. A person who is 16 or 17 can consent to sexual activity with another person who is no older than 24, according to Florida law.
