Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's wife issues warning to him after near-death experience during Netflix filming
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's wife has warned she doesn't want him taking part in any more stunts after his near-fatal experience while filming Netflix series Celebrity Bear Hunt.
The Changing Rooms icon, 59, joined the likes of Lottie Moss, Mel B and Boris Becker on Bear Grylls' reality series, which he hosted alongside former This Morning star Holly Willoughby.
The celebrities took part in a series of tasks in the Central American jungle, where they were 'prey for one of the world 's most fearsome predators'.
But things didn't always go as planned, with Steph McGovern being rushed to medics after nearly breaking her nose and sparking concussion fears after she swung into a cliff, while Laurence almost drowned in the sea, with Bear diving in to save him.
Recalling the terrifying moment, the TV star called it a 'close shave' and 'a very frightening experience'.
In an interview with Hello! he recalled not being able to breathe and almost passing out, jokingly adding: "In my head I was James Bond, but the sad fact is that I'm actually more like Grandpa Pig."
After a tearful phone call with his wife Jackie, she emotionally shared: 'When you go through something like that, it's almost like PTSD, and the thinking back is probably more upsetting than going through it in the first place."
"He doesn't like being in the sea; he doesn't like being out of his depth," she added, saying it was 'one of his nine lives'.
"I don't want him doing anything like that again. And you know, you really don't need to, because you're Grandpa Pig these days," she said.
When the Netflix series aired, Laurence could be seen and heard groaning and struggling in the water during the challenge, as he struggled to unclip supply bags from a raft and became tangled up in equipment.
'I kept throwing myself at the raft, trying to get up. It just wasn't that easy,' he said.
'Suddenly, I am in some high of fight or flight.'
Presenter Holly Willoughby looked on from the shore as concern mounted, while Bear threw himself into the water as Laurence could be heard shouting for help and saying: 'I can't breathe.'
After a terrifying moment, he was dragged to shore by production crew coming to rescue him.
When he was able to gain his breath on the beach, Laurence explained he felt 'really tight across my chest' and couldn't 'get enough oxygen'.
He was given an oxygen mask and urged to lie down in the shade by medics.
'I couldn't breathe, it really was frightening,' he later said. 'I really did think I was having a heart attack.'
He later echoed to Times Radio: 'It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. I mean, it really, really wasn't. I was blacking out. I thought I was having a heart attack. And having then been pumped full of, I think it's about three canisters of oxygen, which is wonderful stuff by the way…but it was a very solitary thing.'
He added: 'I always felt that I was quite physically resilient. I have regular medicals. I'm perceived as being reasonably fit for what I am but it did feel slightly like a moment of failure.'

Rochelle Humes returns to This Morning in denim dress that costs less than £50
Rochelle Humes is back on the This Morning sofa and she's already impressing with her outfit choices. The former Saturdays singer wore a flattering denim dress that costs £46 After wowing in a butter yellow cardigan for her This Morning debut last week, Olivia Attwood has passed the summer holidays presenting baton to an equally stylish host. Rochelle Humes has stepped into the role this Monday wearing a gorgeous indigo denim dress that costs less than £50. Co-presenting the daytime show alongside Dermot O'Leary, the ex-Saturdays singer wore a dark denim sleeveless dress, which we've hunted down online. The frock is from ASOS' affordable own brand, coming in at a purse-friendly £46. The dress boasts a ruched front with an on trend drop waist, complete with a sleeveless silhouette that's ideal for warm weather styling. Styled by Amber Jackson, Rochelle wore the dress with a heels flip flop and gold jewellery, rocking a long, 90s style bob. Her dress is made from 100% cotton, perfect for summer, and has a zip back fastening which gives it more structure, while making it easier to get on and off. It also looks far more expensive than its £46 price tag would suggest. The ASOS number comes in significantly cheaper than this zip-up Mint Velvet Blue Denim Midi Dress, available for £130 at Next. It comes in a similar colour and silhouette, but has pockets, a slit at the back and zip fastening at the front. For a high street alternative, River Island's Blue Denim Pintuck Stretch Denim Midi Dress is only £3 more expensive than the ASOS dress, costing £49. Instead of ruching, it has pintuck detailing which cinches the waist for a snatched appearance, however, the cotton content is lower than the ASOS dress, Rochelle is known to be a fan of River Island, too. Appearing on the show in May she opted for a crisp white wrap shirt from ASOS (£32), featuring long sleeves, a spread collar and a flattering wrap-front design, as well as River Island's Blue Seam Detail Balloon Leg Jeans. She told her fans: "There's a new rule, we didn't used to wear jeans but we can wear jeans now. This is amazing news to me. So these are River Island, they're like a nice barrel cut." What's more is that the £49 jeans are now on sale, costing £25 an available in most sizes. Rochelle isn't the only ITV favourite who loves the retailer, either. Last week, Frankie Bridge had followers racing to River Island for her Brown Faux Leather Funnel Neck Bomber Jacket, which is £52. Styling the jacket with some blue wide leg jeans and a graphic vest top, she said: 'This jacket is perfect for over summer as it's lightweight and is perfect to throw on if the weather changes.'

Wednesday season 2 bosses open up on Joanna Lumley's unrecognisable transformation
A whole host of new characters have been added to season two of Wednesday and fans were left stunned by Joanna Lumley's transformation in the Netflix show Wednesday season two will premiere on Netflix on August 6 and the show has been renewed for a third season. For the latest outing, a whole host of new characters have been added alongside Jenna Ortega, who has opened up on the pressures of filming the new season. Whilst the star-studded cast welcomes the likes of Lady Gaga and Steve Buscemi, the hit series will also see Joanna Lumley as Morticia's (Catherine Zeta-Jones) mother. The Absolutely Fabulous star and former model has collaborated with Tim Burton on two previous film projects - James and the Giant Peach and Corpse Bride. Wednesday showrunner Miles Millar said she was at the top of their list to play Hester, sharing: "The idea of bringing Hester, Morticia's mother, into the fold was something we were so excited about. "In the first season we introduced Fester, and then this season we thought, 'Let's introduce Grandmama.' "At the top of our list was Joanna Lumley. Joanna just inhabited this role. And the hair and makeup - she has this extraordinary wig." "Colleen Atwood, our incredible costume designer, designed these amazing costumes. "The first day on set when Joanna walked on, she just was Hester, and she nailed every single line, and it's just so delicious. "The Wednesday-Hester relationship is unique and different; you see a twinkle in both their eyes when they're together on-screen. I think everyone is going to fall in love with Hester." The 79 year old sent fans into a frenzy with her jaw-dropping transformation as she appeared in the show's trailer. The footage triggered a wave of reactions from supporters across social media platforms, with remarks describing her look as "perfect" and "fabulous". Writing on X, previously known as Twitter, one admirer commented: "Grandmama got a makeover." A second person posted: "Absolutely Fabulous! !" making reference to the performer's legendary Patsy Stone character. Alfred Gough, who co-created the programme, revealed that for the second series they were keen to explore a contrasting mother-daughter dynamic. He explained: "We see Hester and Morticia's relationship, and how there are similarities and differences between Morticia and Wednesday's relationship. "And of course, Wednesday and Hester get along great. Other than Fester, Grandmama is probably Wednesday's favorite person and the one she feels the most kinship with. "It's also somebody she can use against her mother. So it's a delicious family triangle to set up." Wednesday season 2 will premiere on Netflix on August 6

UK's STV warns of annual profit miss on subdued ads market, shares plunge
July 28 (Reuters) - British digital media firm STV Group (STVG.L), opens new tab warned on Monday that annual revenue and profit would fall short of market expectations due to a worsening advertising market, sending its shares to a more than 12-year low. Shares fell over 24% - biggest percentage drop since November 2007 - to 145.4 pence. STV has two divisions, Audience, which runs commercial public service broadcaster STV and streaming service STV Player and heavily relies on advertising, and Studios, Scotland's largest TV production company which gets commissions from the likes of Netflix and BBC to produce content. A worsening macroeconomic backdrop in the UK has led to fewer funding approvals for creative projects, which has impacted the group's unscripted content, such as talk shows or documentaries, with some projects in advanced development stages not being approved and some being delayed to 2026. STV Group said its scripted labels remained strong and it was still working on projects for Netflix, Apple, Sky and the BBC, with financial expectations remaining unchanged for that segment. The company expects total advertising revenue, which makes up the lion's share of group revenue, to be down about 8% in the third quarter due to a challenging advertising market. The group expects total revenue to range between 165 million pounds and 180 million pounds ($221.50 million and $241.63 million), and an adjusted operating margin of about 7% for the year ending December 31, 2025. ($1 = 0.7449 pounds)
