Saudi Arabia Welcomes Growing Int'l Support for Upcoming ‘Two-State Solution' Conference
Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Jeddah.
The cabinet also stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
The ministers reviewed Saudi Arabia's latest talks and consultations with brotherly and friendly countries on regional and international developments, prospects for cooperation, and ways to strengthen ties across various sectors.
They reiterated the Kingdom's active role in supporting international security and stability, as well as its efforts to alleviate humanitarian suffering.
The Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom's comprehensive economic, cultural, and social development efforts, along with completed plans and programs aimed at advancing national progress and benefiting citizens.
It discussed steps to balance Riyadh's real estate sector, underlining the government's commitment to addressing rising land prices and rents in the capital in recent years.
The Cabinet highlighted the new Arabian oil and natural gas discoveries in Eastern Region and the Empty Quarter, saying they represent a substantial boost to the Kingdom's economic standing and boost its capacity to meet long-term local and global energy demands.
The Cabinet also noted the Kingdom's high rankings in international indicators, saying it is confirmation of the state's strong support for all sectors, driving them toward greater competitiveness and global leadership.
Furthermore, the Cabinet lauded the awards and medals earned by government entities and Saudi students at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions 2025, which align with the Kingdom's aspirations for innovation and a prosperous future.
It commended the second Human Capability Initiative Conference held in Riyadh, which featured over 100 launches, agreements, and memoranda of understanding aimed at fostering international cooperation and advancing the Vision 2030 goals on human capital development.

TOKYO: Japan opposes Israel's plan to take control of Gaza as it undermines the realization of a two-state solution, Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi said in a statement issued by the ministry on Monday. Japan is strongly concerned that this decision will further exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza. 'Japan once again urges all parties to return to negotiations and to work in good faith towards a ceasefire and the release of hostages,' Iwaya said. 'Improving the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza is an urgent priority. Japan calls on Israel to take substantive measures to end the serious humanitarian crisis, including starvation, and reiterates our strong demand for its full compliance with international law, including international humanitarian law,' the statement added. Japan has consistently supported a two-state solution, whereby Israel and a future independent Palestinian state live side by side in peace and security, through confidence building and negotiations between the parties. Japan remains committed to continuing to work for its realization, according to the statement. Despite repeated calls for restraint from the international community and humanitarian aid institutions, Israel has continued to push with its attacks on civilian homes, schools, hospitals and even places of worship in Gaza. In its latest move, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his plan to relocate Palestinians from their homes in northern Gaza City to 'safe' ones in the south, ahead of a new offensive to seize control of the the enclave's largest urban center. The plan has raised international alarm over the fate of the devastated strip, home to about 2.2 million people.

King Salman and Crown Prince condole with Pakistan president over flood victims
Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman offered condolences and sympathy to Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari over the victims of the floods in northern Pakistan, which resulted in scores of deaths, injuries, and missing persons. In a cable sent to President Zardari, the King said: 'We have learned of the news of the floods in the north of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the resulting deaths, injuries and missing persons. As we send our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to you, the families of the deceased and the people of Pakistan, we ask God Almighty to shower His mercy and forgiveness on the deceased, as well as to bestow their families with patience and solace, to grant the injured a speedy recovery, and to return the missing persons safe and sound,' the King said while praying to God to protect the people of Pakistan from all harm and misfortune. In a similar cable of condolences sent to Zardari, the Crown Prince expressed his deepest sympathy for the victims of the floods. 'I offer my deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to you and to the families of all the deceased, asking God Almighty to have mercy on the deceased, grant a speedy recovery to all the injured, and return the missing safely,' he said. More than 300 people were killed in northern Pakistan after two days of heavy rains and flash floods. The deluge hit the remote mountainous northern part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, with cloud bursts, flash floods, lightning strikes and landslides in the deadliest downpour of this year's monsoon season.
