Paul Gascoigne rushed to hospital after collapsing at home
He is reportedly recovering now and is expected to be in hospital for treatment for a few days.
Steve Foster, a friend of Gascoigne's and his driver, who found him, told The Sun newspaper: 'He would like to thank everyone for the support he's received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him back to his best.'

He added: 'Paul is in hospital, which is the best possible place for him to be right now.'
Gascoigne is considered to be one of England's greatest midfielders, having played for the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Lazio in his club career.
He was capped 57 times and scored ten goals for the Three Lions between 1988 and 1998.
Gascoigne came through the ranks at Newcastle in the 1980s before moving to Tottenham, where he would win an FA Cup winners' medal in 1991.
He spent four years in Italy with Lazio before joining Rangers, but alcohol issues took hold during his latter career at Middlesbrough, Everton and Burnley.

The Telegraph adds: "He was left out of England's 1998 World Cup squad, which proved a crushing blow for both his professional and personal life."
Gascoigne spoke to Jake Humphrey and Damian Hughes, who present the High Performance Podcast, about his personal struggles last year.
He shared: 'The things I've put myself through, I'm lucky to still be sitting here.
'I've spent a lot of years being down, when I did my ligaments and then my knee-cap, I missed four years of football. I would've got 100 caps.'

Of the battle to stay sober, Gascoigne said: 'I don't blame anyone, I used to blame a lot of people when I was drinking. 'It's f****** because he did that. Because such-and-such did this'.
"I did the 12 steps and one of the steps was to meet the person you blamed and apologise to them.
'What I put myself through and other people, jail and rehab – taking cocaine off toilet seats – and then I'm asked to be ambassador for my country, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.'

'Paul voluntarily went into A&E on Friday after struggling with a throat condition he has had for a while,' Carly Saward at the MNT talent agency told the Associated Press too. 'He is already back home and doing well.' Meanwhile, his friend and personal assistant Steve Foster – who found him on Friday – has been visiting Gazza every day and told The Sun: 'Paul is stable now but is still very poorly. 'But it shows how popular and loved he still is by fans everywhere. I can't walk down the street with him without him being stopped – it's crazy.' Gazza has battled with alcoholism and addiction throughout his life, but has been in better shape recently. "He has told friends that he is fine and was going to give an update later today," a source close to the star told The Mirror earlier on Monday. "He has been doing well recently so this was an unexpected setback. 'He had a full three months without alcohol over the summer while he was doing various speaking engagements and looked really well." Gazza won 57 caps for England and played for Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers, Middlesbrough and Everton during a distinguished career. But his struggles off the pitch have sadly taken over his life in recent years. Speaking on the High Performance podcast in March 2024, he said: 'I used to be a happy drunk, I ain't any more … I'm a sad drunk. I don't go out and drink, I drink indoors. If I want to make it a bad day, [all I need to do is] go down the pub. If I want it to be a good day, I get my flying rod out and go fishing. 'It's not the drinking, it's the afterwards. Looking at my phone after and seeing 30 messages or missed calls, I know I'm in trouble. But I've been all right. Last year wasn't brilliant, was off and on for a couple of months.' Gascoigne added: 'I try not to get down because the world 's already down enough and when I'm really down, that's when I pick up a drink to cheer myself up. I don't think I let any managers down, or the players or the fans, you know. If there was anyone I let down, it was myself. But more the drinking side of it, when I finished playing.'

Hunter ready for Aldcroft to get her happy ending at Rugby World Cup
Former England skipper Sarah Hunter believes Zoe Aldcroft deserves a happy World Cup ending at the 2025 Rugby World Cup. The Scarborough native was forced off with a concussion in the first half of the World Cup final three years ago as England went on to lose to hosts New Zealand. Aldcroft, who plays at lock, was named England captain earlier this year, nine years on from her Red Roses debut and will be reaming of lifting the trophy come September. 'Zoe Aldcroft is an unbelievable player, I think she just underestimates the presence that she has,' Hunter said. 'I am in awe when I watch her train; she is a machine. 'Her ability to just go to places where other people don't, her impact in a game and her work rate. 'The engine that she has, a lot of the unseen work she does but then she will have a moment of brilliance. 'She galvanises the team around her, when she speaks people listen. People can't not be inspired by the way she plays the game, the way she puts her body on the line.' The initiative run by World Rugby will have helped almost 50 female coaches earn valuable coaching experience with their unions by the end of the 2025 Rugby World Cup, which begins on 22 August in Sunderland. Aldcroft is expected to lead England at a home World Cup, which the Red Roses enter the tournament as the overwhelming favourites and world number ones. Hunter added: 'Different coaches have different reasons of why they select their captain, but when you watch her play, she is definitely someone who is the standard bearer of how you want the game to be played. 'She is the one who you think 'I will follow you into battle', and quite often as captain that is what you want. 'You want someone out there, leading the charges, in front, Zoe Aldcroft will never take a backward step. 'The way she galvanises the team, the way she motivates them, she is just brilliant all-round. 'I really hope she gets the World Cup ending she deserves this time around, she got taken off in the final through a concussion, she is a pretty special player.'
