
Driver suffers ‘potentially life-altering injuries' in 2-vehicle crash northeast of Kingston, Ont.
Ontario Provincial Police say a diver suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash northeast of Kingston Thursday afternoon.
OPP were called to Highway 15 west of County Road 32 near Seeley's Bay for the crash. Highway 15 was closed in both directions in the area for the investigation.
In an update, police said both drivers were injured in the crash, one suffering what the OPP called 'potentially life-altering injuries' and the other sustaining minor injuries. No one else was in either vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to hospital, police said.
In a second update, police said all of the injuries were deemed to be non-life threatening.

While no charges have been announced, the OPP said they could still be laid.
'Expect a lengthy highway closure,' OPP warned on social media. 'Possible detour: take County Roads 32 and 13.'
Police said just before 6 p.m. the highway would reopen 'in a matter of hours, pending cleanup crews.'

Man drowned in the Vermilion River last weekend

In a news release Monday, Greater Sudbury police said officers responded Saturday to a report of the drowning of a 27-year-old man. 'Information provided was that a group of individuals had been swimming in the area when one man separated from the group and began to struggle while attempting to return,' police said. Pulled the man to shore 'Members of the public who were swimming, kayaking, and canoeing nearby attempted to assist the man as he went under the water. A community member in a canoe was able to locate the man under the water, jumped in and pulled the man to shore.' Bystanders tried to revive him while they waited for emergency responders to arrive, but their efforts were unsuccessful, police said. 'We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,' the release said. 'We would also like to recognize and commend the courageous actions of the community members who intervened in an urgent effort to save a life.'
