June 17 (UPI) -- Steve Martin and Alison Brown performed their single "5 Days Out, 2 Days Back" with Tim O'Brien on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday.
Martin, 79, played the banjo with Brown, while O'Brien sang and performed on the mandolin.
The group performed in front of a country road backdrop as O'Brien sang about how the guitar had been a "northern star."
Martin wrote the song, which was released March 28.
"Martin's lyrics tell a story familiar to all touring musicians of balancing life on the road with the pull of loved ones at home," an official synopsis reads.
The song was released alongside a music video that shows clips of highways and snippets of the artists performing together.
Martin posted a photo of himself and Brown with a smiling Kimmel on Instagram.
"Stern-faced me and Alison Brown on Kimmel tonight," he captioned the image. "I lightened up eventually."
Martin and Brown will release a collection of songs later this year.
In addition to his music, Martin stars with Martin Short and Selena Gomez on the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. Martin discussed the show in his interview with Kimmel, confirming that filming has finished on Season 5.

Anti-Jeff Bezos protesters in Venice vow drastic action to disrupt $7m wedding, make guests ‘choke on their wedding cake'

Anti-Jeff Bezos protesters out to disrupt his Venice wedding to Lauren Sanchez have threatened to make them 'choke on their wedding cake'. Local protesters have branded the Amazon founder and his helicopter pilot fiancée as 'oligarchs' and said they will take whatever action necessary to spoil the fairytale $7m wedding, which the locals mayor's office said will be held on Bezos' $500 million superyacht Koru, set to be anchored just outside the floating city. 'We'll throw ourselves into the canal if we have to, we'll make sure they choke on their wedding cake,' activists leading the protests said, according to the Italian edition of Vanity Fair magazine. Groups protesting against Bezos — the third richest man in the world with a net worth of $226 billion — have also threatened to blockade the major waterways into the city, effectively cutting off supplies. Advertisement If that happens, as well as causing problems for the wedding organization, it would immediately cause prices to spike for anyone within Venice city limits, one of Europe's top tourist destinations, during high season. 'If they block the canal we wouldn't receive our goods. They would definitely block the Grand Canal, which is what transporters use to deliver goods in the morning. 'They start from Tronchetto and then arrive at Rialto [bridge in the center of the city], so it would create quite a lot of issues. The goods wouldn't arrive,' a representative for the Despar supermarket in Venice told The Post. 8 A huge banner hoisted onto St Marks' bell tower in Venice, one of the most recognizable landmarks of the city, protesting Bezos' wedding. REUTERS Sources also said protesters were planning to arm themselves with water pistols to create more disturbances around the wedding. A number of yacht berths have been reserved for six days for the wedding – expected to take place between June 24 and 26 – including at Marittima, San Basilio, Zattere, Punta della Dogana, and Riva dei Sette Martiri, twice the number locals were told would be allocated by authorities. The No Space for Bezos campaign – using a play on words related to the billionaire's Blue Origin space exploration company – have also unfurled banners and distributed stickers throughout the city. The Venice protests come against a backdrop of locals taking action against what they call over-tourism across southern Europe. Meanwhile, staff at Paris' Louvre art gallery, the most visited museum in the world, went on strike yesterday, saying it allows too many visitors in. Advertisement Around a thousand residents of Barcelona protested last Sunday by marching through a popular tourist area and spraying water pistols while slapping stickers reading 'Tourist Go Home!' on businesses and lamp posts. Other protests have taken place in Genoa in Italy, Portuguese capital Lisbon and the Spanish island of Majorca. Residents say they are being priced out of their towns by the influx of tourists from around the world and the hotels and other infrastructure built to accommodate them.

Chris Martin Just Wore a Telling Accessory Amid First Outing Since Dakota Johnson Split

As we mourn the iconic relationship between Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin ending, it seems both of them are keeping busy. Johnson has been everywhere promoting her new movie The Materialists, and as for Martin, he just made an appearance. On June 16, Martin made his first public appearance since the news of his and Johnson's reported breakup went public. He was out and about in NYC with his and Gwyneth Paltrow's son, Moses Martin, in photos obtained by E! Online. The Coldplay frontman wore an all-black outfit composed of a black T-shirt, matching blazer, pants, and aviator sunglasses. However, he was also wearing a certain accessory that may confirm the news. More from SheKnows Sources Reveal if Gwyneth Paltrow Will Stay Friends With Dakota Johnson After Chris Martin Breakup He's wearing a Farsi calligraphy charm necklace, specifically with the charm being a 'Baaraye' or 'Azadi' necklace, which is Farsi for 'freedom.' Now, wearing a necklace that symbolizes freedom after a breakup is quite telling on its own, but there's one more detail we gotta talk about. It seems as though he started wearing this necklace in the summer of 2024, which is when the breakup rumors were first running rampant with the pair. So, overall, this necklace is the center of a lot of questions right now. For those who don't know, Johnson and Martin started dating in 2017 after being set up by mutual friends, and seven years later. They didn't confirm their relationship until a year later, and they moved in together in 2021. There was a rumor that they briefly broke up in the summer of 2019, but quickly reconciled. While we don't know the exact time they got engaged, many sources claim it was years ago, but the two weren't too eager to set a date. They were plagued with breakup rumors again inthe summer of 2024, as we said previously. Sadly, Martin and Johnson have seemingly called it quits for good in June 2025. A source spoke to The Sun about what led to their recent breakup, saying, 'They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem and she'd expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life but they discussed it.'Best of SheKnows 13 Times Meghan Markle Reminded Us So Much of Princess Diana 24 Times Kate Middleton Perfectly Recreated Princess Diana's Iconic Fashion Every Time Paris Jackson's Bold Red Carpet Fashion Took Our Breath Away
