ITV Emmerdale fans call for 'tedious' storyline to end
The pair has a previous history together as part of Joe's previous kidney transplant story.
Now, the doctor, played by James Hillier, has returned to seek revenge.
A post shared by Emmerdale (@emmerdale)
James Hillier's character last appeared on the ITV soap back in March.
Joe was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and hired the shady doctor to treat him and secure him a kidney transplant.
After Joe's paternal half-uncle, Caleb Miligan, was found to be a donor match, his kidney was taken after he was stabbed.
Following this, Dr Crowley transplanted it into Joe before fleeing the country, and that was the last heard from him... until now.
Having returned to the soap this week, Joe was knocked unconscious and woke up in a makeshift hospital room to find Crowley.
He revealed that he gave Joe an epidural and "numbed the lower spine, along with the upper, near the base of the skull", meaning Joe was left paralysed.
It was revealed that Shaun, who arrived with Joe's laptop, had been secretly working for Crowley.
Despite originally refusing, following the threat of torture, Joe reveals the passwords and Shaun transfers £105,000 to Crowley's account.
Following Dr Crowley's return on the ITV show, fans have been discussing the ongoing storyline, and some are not impressed.
It's that time again… the Inside Soap Awards 2025 are here - and the Village needs you! 💚

Olivia Attwood hits back at cruel backlash over new This Morning summer gig after fans threatened they will 'stop watching'
Olivia Attwood has hit back at backlash over her upcoming gig on This Morning after cruel trolls insisted it 'wouldn't work'. The former Love Island star, 34, who is a regular Loose Women panellist, is joining the This Morning team as a summer host in the coming weeks. While she's built a successful career fronting multiple ITV documentaries and reality shows, the news of Olivia's new slot didn't go down a hit with some fans. Traditionalists went as far as threatening they'll 'definitely stop watching' if Olivia joins the morning show. But ITV's golden girl Olivia has assured she is determined to succeed in the new gig and prove the haters wrong. She exclusively told The Sun: 'Those who know me understand the hard work I've put in to get where I am today. 'I'm forever grateful to Love Island for being the springboard to my career, but I'm excited to show there's so much more to me beyond the villa. 'It's been a lot of hard work, but I've always stayed focused on my goals and believed in myself and I'm very thankful for ITV in believing me.' Other stars who are fronting This Morning this summer include Sian Welby, Dermot O'Leary, Emma Willis, Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett, Craig Doyle, and Andi Peters. Recently Olivia hit out at the 'stigma' of being the partner of a successful sportsman, insisting she funds her own lavish lifestyle and has worked 'relentlessly' since being catapulted to fame when she left the Love Island villa in 2017. She became a bona fide WAG when she tied the knot with footballer Bradley Dack in a lavish central London ceremony in the summer of 2023. The TV personality dated Bradley, 31, prior to entering the ITV reality show and he was already a footballer playing for League Two team Gillingham FC. Olivia slammed 'gold digger' claims and said it doesn't matter what job her husband has because she works 'seven days a week'. She told MailOnline: 'I think people are like, "She works seven days a week, surely she's got some f*****g cash". 'Maybe in the beginning when Brad and I first started dating, there was a bit of a stigma around it [dating someone who plays sport for a living]. 'And people can kind of go, "Oh", a bit of an eye roll and stupid comments like, "Oh my gosh she's with him cos he plays football". 'I've got my own money, so it doesn't really matter what he does for a job.' Straight-talking Olivia shot to fame thanks to her stint in the Love Island villa in the summer of 2017, which saw her reach the show final with her ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes, 32, who she dated until February 2018. The former grid girl has since become a household name and a regular face on TV, appearing on The Only Way Is Essex, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, This Morning and Loose Women. Olivia has also fronted many of her own shows and presented Bad Boyfriends, Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection - admitting she has 'bitten the hands off' TV executives for 'big jobs, little jobs, whatever I could get'. But this success did not come overnight and she told how she 'grafted' when she left the villa while working relentlessly to get where she is today. Olivia told MailOnline: 'Post Love Island, I knew where I wanted to be. I knew I wanted to stay working in television, and I was very dedicated to that, and everything I've done is working towards that bigger goal. 'I've been very patient and I've learnt the craft, I'm still learning, I've taken the big jobs, the little jobs, whatever I could get, I just bite their hand off for it.' 'Relentlessly pursuing that bigger goal and I'm working really hard at it, it doesn't come overnight', she added. 'Even when you get a big platform like Love Island, you still need to prove yourself to people. 'I think sometimes people become impatient off the back of reality shows, but these kind of things, they don't happen overnight, you have to stick with it. It takes graft.' Olivia has enjoyed the spoils of a lavish lifestyle thanks to her lucrative television career and is regularly seen toting around Chanel and Hermes handbags. She has also enjoyed many luxurious trips throughout the years - in the last nine weeks she has been seen in France, Miami and Ibiza. In her popular TV documentary, Price Of Perfection, Olivia was very candid about her own cosmetic tweakments and confessed she spends a 'couple of grand a month' maintaining her image.

Left dangling by a thread were Tommy and Lucy, Conor and Emma, and Lauren and Harrison. Shakira chose to save Conor after he revealed he had feelings for her - and said she felt the same. She told Ty: "Harrison's my best mate obviously, with Conor we've been exploring a connection. "At the end of the day I'm not going to be in this position and not save the people I've got the best connections with." When the result was revealed, Helena snapped: "It's not right." But Shakira stood her ground, coolly responding: 'I did what I wanted to do,' before joking, 'I'm going back to public enemy number one.' Meanwhile, Toni wasn't hiding her feelings after witnessing Lauren and Harrison kiss right in front of her. 'That's why I wanted them gone,' she fumed. Love Island rocked by leaked voice note that 'exposes' Casa girl's game plan Harrison had tried to kiss Toni on the terrace days ago, but slept with Lauren in bed last night. It comes after The Sun revealed a leaked voice note appearing to show Lucy's game plan to win Love Island by coupling up with Tommy. The 37-second recording, which Love Island fans claimed was the voice of Lucy Quinn, laid bare a plot to couple with popular Tommy as a surefire way to make the final. Tommy was previously coupled up with Irish beauty Megan Forte Clarke who was axed after her love triangle with Conor. Her betrayal led her to be voted one of the three least popular girls by the public. He was then in a couple with Welsh beauty Emily, but last week, Lucy walked into the main villa holding hands with smitten Tommy, who dumped Emily to be with her. In the most dramatic moment of the recoupling, Emily was left shell-shocked having stayed loyal to Tommy and given a heartfelt speech in which she said she couldn't wait to see him. 8 Shakira and Ty were voted the most compatible and were given the power to send one couple home Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 8 Emily was dumped from the villa after Tommy recoupled with Lucy in Casa Amor Credit: Eroteme 8 Tommy returned from Casa Amor with Lucy Credit: Eroteme
