Coming on stage to introduce a mystery guest, Ruth – famed for playing Nessa Shanessa Jenkins on the BBC favourite – managed to get an extra surprise in herself.
Walking on to the Gavin and Stacey theme song Run by Stephen Fretwell, Ruth beamed as the crowd screamed for her after a countdown.
She blew kisses to the audience before the Porthcawl native switched into Nessa mode, belting out her iconic 'Ohhhh, what's occurrin'?'
Ruth then joked 'I don't really speak like that you know', putting on a mock posh voice.
But the best was yet to come when she brought out on stage Neil The Baby – reuniting with her on-screen son (played by Oscar Hartland).
The young musician was already performing at the festival with his band Redwood City, but swung by the main stage in order to give fans a treat alongside his fake mum.
The pair shared an adorable hug on stage as he ran at her with his arms wife open, swooping her in for a cuddle.
'My son!' she beamed. 'Are you singing? Isn't he amazing! He takes after his mother, he does.'
Oscar egged on the crowd, saying hello to them and encouraging them to cheer.
She ended her stint on stage by answering a question about the infamous and mysterious events of the Gavin and Stacey fishing trip, joking: 'I don't know, I wasn't there!'
The quick stint on stage ended with the introduction of The Greatest Showman star Keala Settle.
In It Together Festival is a family event in Port Talbot, with Kaiser Chiefs, Becky Hill and Ronan Keating coming on stage as this year's headliners.
The sweet moment comes just five months after the official end of Gavin and Stacey, which ended the tale of the Billericay and Barry collective.

In the final episode - which was watched by 19million people - fans finally saw Neil the Baby's parents, Nessa and Smithy (played by James Corden) tie the knot, with the family all getting their happy ending on Christmas Day.
She later picked up a Bafta for the finale episode for her portrayal of the bolshy truck driver and arcade manager.
After the win, Ruth teased that she and James Corden - who co-created and wrote Gavin and Stacey with her - could be set for something new.
She said: 'I love working with James Corden, I really do, and I hope that we will carry on working together.
'I think we will. We will, because we just both, like, sort of sitting in a room together. We do a lot of napping, but we do write as well when we get going and, yeah, I just love working with him.'
In the meantime, she's set to star in new Netflix drama, Run Away, which is currently being filmed.

Strictly Come Dancing 'cocaine scandal' being investigated by police in new update

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed they are investigating drug related offences following an inquiry into hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing before the series launch Police have said they are investigating drug allegations on Strictly Come Dancing. This weekend, it was reported that the BBC called in the cops after lawyers began an inquiry into the hit dance competition. It followed an inquiry into the show amid claims two of its stars had used cocaine. Strictly has been marred by controversies over the past few years, with the latest coming just weeks before its return to screens. Earlier this month, the BBC enlisted the services of top legal firm Pinsent Masons to investigate recent drug accusations. Former participants, professional dancers and crew members have been invited to speak with solicitors to voice any issues they might have had. Now, the Metropolitan Police have issued a statement to the Mirror as they said: "On Tuesday 12 August, the Metropolitan Police received an allegation about drug-related offences. "Police are assessing the information, and further enquiries are taking place to establish whether there is evidence of a criminal offence being committed. We won't be commenting further at this time.' A source said: 'It's a significant new development in the BBC's recent string of crises that they have now got the police involved in investigating allegations surrounding Strictly. "This is a very dramatic turn of events. Despite all the show and its team have been through over recent months, it's hugely controversial that you've now got Scotland Yard detectives probing Strictly. They added to The Sun: 'This is their biggest prime-time family entertainment show, so it's not a good look for the BBC.' It is believed this is the first time the BBC has been in contact with the police over allegations linked to the show. When approached by the Mirror yesterday, the BBC said they wouldn't comment on any police investigation. A BBC spokesperson said earlier this month: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' Earlier this month, the BBC reportedly enlisted the services of a top legal firm to investigate accusations of cocaine use by two stars, with reports suggesting their substance abuse was an open secret on the show. According to The Sun, one of the allegations involves a Strictly star who allegedly commented on another individual's dilated pupils, hinting at drug intoxication. They said: "Have you seen their pupils... they're off their face". Since then, it was reported that bosses have offered those stars the chance of rehab. It was also claimed there could be random drug tests added to the upcoming tours, which are known to include after-parties. The Mirror has contacted the BBC for comment.

Actor Terence Stamp, who starred in original Superman films, dies aged 87

Veteran British actor Terence Stamp, who starred in the original Superman films, has died aged 87. The Academy Award-nominated actor, who played Kryptonian villain General Zod in Superman and Superman II, died on Sunday. Stamp, who starred as a transgender woman in 1994's The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert, won a Bafta for his performance. Born in the East End of London in 1938, Stamp rose to acting fame in the 1960s after he won a drama school scholarship. The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art scholarship led him to the stage, where he acted in repertory theatre and met Michael Caine, who was five years older than him. The pair lived together in a flat in Harley Street while they were both looking for their big break, but they parted ways and lost touch, Stamp previously told The Guardian. He made his film debut in Peter Ustinov's 1962 film adaptation of Herman Melville's Billy Budd and his portrayal of the title character brought an Oscar nomination. Known for his stylish clothes, Stamp famously dated actress Julie Christie, who he performed alongside in the 1967 film Far From The Madding Crowd and was also in a relationship with the model Jean Shrimpton. But, after missing out on the role of James Bond, he fell out of the limelight for a while. It was not until 1978 that he got his most famous role as General Zod and appeared in Superman's 1980 sequel as the same character. He began voice acting and writing books in the late '90s, but also continued acting in films, appearing alongside Tom Cruise in Valkyrie in 2008 and working on movies directed by Tim Burton. His film career spanning six decades ended with the 2021 psychological thriller Last Night In Soho. Stamp's death was confirmed in a death notice published online, the Associated Press said.

Today, in a new statement, a Met spokesperson said: 'On Tuesday 12 August, the Metropolitan Police received an allegation about drug related offences. "Police are assessing the information and further enquiries are taking place to establish whether there is evidence of a criminal offence being committed. 'We won't be commenting further at this time.' In The Sun's story two weeks ago we told how it was claimed it was 'well known' that two Strictly stars took drugs including cocaine. And it was alleged one Strictly personality had said about one of the stars they were 'off their face … have you seen the pupils in their eyes'. This morning we revealed cops were now involved but did not state the nature and detail of the allegations they were investigating. The corporation had already launched an inquiry into its flagship Saturday night family show amid claims two of its stars had used cocaine. It is understood that detectives from the Met Police are examining other allegations relating to the telly ballroom hit, which has been rocked by a string of controversies. Our latest shock revelation comes as the BBC prepares to launch Strictly's 23rd series next month - after officially announcing the line-up of celebrities including reality TV star Dani Dyer. A source told The Sun on Sunday: 'It's a significant new development in the BBC's recent string of crises that they have now got the police involved in investigating allegations surrounding Strictly. "This is a very dramatic turn of events. 'Despite all the show and its team have been through over recent months, it's hugely controversial that you've now got Scotland Yard detectives probing Strictly. 'This is their biggest prime-time family entertainment show, so it's not a good look for the BBC.' Strictly has been the subject of inquiries into bullying and inappropriate behaviour over the past 14 months. But this is believed to be the first time the BBC has been in contact with the police over allegations linked to the show. It is understood the matter was referred by the BBC after it launched an inquiry, conducted by external lawyers Pinsent Masons, into alleged drug use on the show. The Sun on Sunday reported two weeks ago how it was 'well known' that two Strictly stars took cocaine. It was claimed one accused another of being 'off their face' - saying: 'Have you seen their pupils?' Lawyers were brought in after ex-Strictly star and opera singer Wynne Evans made allegations in a legal submission to the BBC in March. In relation to the drugs allegations, the BBC said a fortnight ago: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. 'It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' 4 BBC bosses alerted police after lawyers began an inquiry into the scandal-hit series Credit: Getty
