Dolph Lundgren Teases 'Secret' Role in New MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie — GeekTyrant

The Power Sword may have a new wielder, but one legendary champion of Eternia might still have a part to play in the upcoming new Masters of the Universe movie.
Dolph Lundgren, who played He-Man in the cult 1987 Masters of the Universe film, has hinted that he may be returning, though not in the way fans might expect.
With Amazon MGM Studios' live-action Masters of the Universe movie officially wrapped, the studio has kept a lot of details under wraps. But, during a recent chat with Mens Journal , Lundgren was asked about the persistent rumors that he's involved in the reboot. His response? Just coy enough to fuel the fire.
'It's a bit of a secret, but I can't say much. But yeah, maybe I'll get involved somehow. We'll see.' totally in it.
The project has been in development limbo for years, with several directors and writers taking stabs at the franchise reboot. It finally gained real momentum under Amazon/MGM with Bumblebee director Travis Knight at the helm and Chris Butler rewriting a script originally drafted by David Callaham ( Shang-Chi ).
Filming took place in London, which, interestingly enough, is where Lundgren had teased he was working on a 'secret' project not too long ago.
As for who he might play, the strongest fan theory floating around suggests King Grayskull, a powerful ancestor of He-Man and an ideal role for Lundgren's commanding presence. While that casting remains unconfirmed, it would be a cool way to honor his legacy in the franchise.
Lundgren also offered some thoughtful commentary on the tone of the new movie and how it compares to today's superhero fare:
'If you think a new He-Man movie makes you feel old, I feel old! I was in it! They've been trying to remake the picture for at least 15 years, and I'm glad they're doing it. There's a great cast, a great crew. It's a big budget picture with MGM/Amazon. I think they're doing a great job.
'Prince Adam has a bit more romanticism to the character than other superheroes. Marvel and DC are a little harder-edged. There's something magical and childlike about it. And even though they're kind of making an adult picture, there's something soft and positive about that character.'
The story for the new film follows '10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!'
Masters of the Universe is slated to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.

Children of the Discordance SS26 Sews Chaos at Pitti Uomo 108

As previously announced,Children of the Discordancereturned to Florence'sPitti Uomofor its 108th edition today to join other Asian brandsPost Archive Faction(PAF) andHomme Plisse Issey Miyakeas special guests. DesignerHideaki Shikamadid not hold back, bringing forth an expressive range of cut-up and meticulously reworked garments that reflect the chaotic energy of defiant youth cultures and urban life. In an official statement, Shikama likened his and his peers' early fashion to DJing — an appropriate analogy for the collection, defined by remixed, chopped-and-screwed sensibilities. 'DJs avoid playing the same tracks,' he said. 'That applies to the clothes we choose to wear. This local code lives on in everything I do.' For structured skirts, jackets, trousers, and shorts, Shikama enlisted a close friend and London-trained pattern maker to incorporate fine tailoring. However, the label maintains its' edgy sensibilities through further processes like patinated over-dye, deconstructed silhouettes, and asymmetrical compositions. Patchwork suiting combines tonal hues of solid black, navy, khaki, and gray fabrics in varied compositions, and elsewhere, dark fabric scraps are quilted into a horizontally striped textile used for blousons, trousers, and jackets. The concept of 'discordance' is materialized by halved garments sewn together down the middle, including a traditional Japanese souvenir jacket boasting animal motifs, over-dyed sweat pants, a graphic football jersey, and a matching tracksuit. Overlapping and clashing with one another, other key prints, trims, and details include paisley patterns, graffiti graphics, faded crests, technicolor jewel embellishments, and, of course, distressing galore. Finally, Children of the Discordance closed its presentation with an unconventional bridal number composed of crumpled white and black t-shirts and finished with a bejeweled cross adorning a hood-veil hybrid. Damson Idris Says Street Driving Is Boring Now That's He's Experienced a Formula One Car

Damson Idris is a serious actor, best known for his work in Snowfall and British films like Farming. But get him talking about cars and racing and Idris can't stop smiling… and he's especially exuberant when he's talking about his experiences making F1, in which he co-stars with Brad Pitt. Apple Original Films | Apple In the big-budget blockbuster, directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), Idris plays an up-and-coming racer Noah Pearce, who is mentored by and clashes with an aging star named Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt. The movie, which opens on June 27 features appearances by top F1 drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, George Russell, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Saenz. While those elite drivers lent verisimilitude, Idris and Pitt did their own driving as Idris discussed in a recent video conversation. What drew you to this movie? I've been a fan of Brad my whole career, and Joe's work on Top Gun Maverick made this a no-brainer. But the biggest thing for me was I knew that we were going to be filming at the real Grand Prix races. So it was like a sneaky way for me to get free tickets to every Grand Prix. Review: He's Here, He's Queer, He's the Future King of England

In 2032, a young man called Tips brings his boyfriend, Dev, home from college to meet the folks. Though cautious, Mum and Dad are neither surprised nor scandalized; after all, he's 18, and they have known he was gay for a while. For the characters in Jordan Tannahill's 'Prince Faggot,' though, that gayness was long since a given. Early in the play, we are shown a famous picture of Tips at 4, looking adorable and, to them, arguably fey. Tips is better known to the world as Prince George of Wales, the oldest child of Prince William and Princess Catherine. The real Prince George is now 11. For that reason, I will hereafter refer to the character by his nickname. I am one of those who, as the play anticipates, resist the dragooning of a preadolescent boy into a dramatic argument about sexuality and monarchy — just as I cringe at the use of a slur I take no reclaimed pride in to market a title. If the playwright means to shock, mission accomplished. But here's the real shocker: The play, which opened Tuesday at Playwrights Horizons, in a co-production with Soho Rep, is thrilling. Inflammatory, nose-thumbing, explicit to the point of pornography, wild and undisciplined (except in its bondage scenes) — yes, all that. Its arguments have so many holes in them, most hold water only briefly. Grievance is its top note: Tips is a whiner and Dev a theory queen. Love is everything and never enough. In other words, however objectionably conjectural, it's real. Tannahill tries to sideline reality quickly though. In a throat-clearing prologue, he has the six actors (all exceptionally good in multiple roles) debate the propriety of telling the story in the first place. One (Mihir Kumar) argues that since 'all children are 'sexualized' as heterosexual by default,' exploring a different framing is a kind of reparation. Another (K. Todd Freeman) retorts that to portray an actual child as queer is to invite a charge of grooming. A third (David Greenspan) adds wickedly, 'Frankly, I think we've been doing a terrible job at grooming. I mean look at how many straights there still are.' Want all of The Times? Subscribe.
