Mamelodi Sundowns won't be extending the contracts of defender Rivaldo Coetzee and midfielder Sipho Mbule. 28-year-old Coetzee has been riddled with injury issues since moving to Sundowns in 2017 from Ajax Cape Town. Meanwhile, 27-year-old Mbule has struggled with off-pitch issues and battled to claim a place in the Downs XI for sustained periods.

According to FARPost, Chiefs' PSL rivals Stellenbosch won't be pursuing Asanele Velebayi as they already have a winger of a similar profile in the shape of Langelihle Phili. Velebayi's Cape Town Spurs side have been relegated to South Africa's third tier following a 15th-place finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Jose Riveiro reveals the real reason he left Orlando Pirates?
Earlier this year, Jose Riveiro dropped a bombshell when he announced that he would not extend his stay when his contract at Orlando Pirates expired. At the time he made the announcement, the Buccaneers were well poised to win at least two trophies, but poor form saw the team finish with just the MTN8, which they won at the beginning of the season. After losing the Nedbank Cup final on 10 May, Jose Riveiro asked the Pirates management to release him early as he had already signed with a new club. At the time, the Sea Robbers had nothing to play for with the league already out of reach. The Spaniard won five trophies in three seasons and while most coaches would want to continue winning, Riveiro chose to leave. He did make a hint last year when he mentioned how far he was away from his family. Kaizer Chiefs cool interest in Terrence Mashego
Kaizer Chiefs are actively searching for a new left-back, but recent developments suggest that Terrence Mashego of Mamelodi Sundowns is no longer on their radar. Despite being linked with the 29-year-old, the Glamour Boys appear to have shifted their attention elsewhere. Mashego, who joined Sundowns in September 2022, may exit the club at the end of June. His future hangs in the balance, especially with Sundowns keen to secure the services of Stellenbosch FC's Fawaaz Basadien.
