Greed's rank bamboozled us all
Shadow power is restricted at first, shadowy power is limited at the start.
Igris is a far more powerful character than Devirs
Chugong put this misconception to bed by stating:

Final thoughts
Solo Leveling has already proven to be one of the new anime hits of 2024, with its thrilling, adventure-laden narrative and enigmatic personalities grabbing fans' attention right from the start. The action-packed series tracks the world's most lowly hunter, Sung Jinwoo, as he rises to the top after being given powerful new abilities in a brutal world teeming with horrific monsters and treasure-filled dungeons. Fans have been gobbling up his larger-than-life odyssey. A recent statement from the creator just turned our perception of one of the show's most controversial aspects, Jinwoo's shadow army, totally on its head. One of the largest fan theories centered on the character Greed, the shadow embodiment of Korean-American stalker Hwan Dongsoo. Audiences were understandably thrown when Greed – of all characters – was granted the lofty General rank, equal to Beru, the Ant King. This just didn't make sense to me, as Dongsoo is terribly underwhelming to the point he's embarrassed by Jinwoo and his father, leaving him with obnoxiously little screen time.Except now we actually know what's going on. In a post originally hosted on Korean platform DCInside (translated and discussed on Reddit by Neo GAF user N0T0RI0US), Chugong discussed his reasoning.First, 'to fix or fill their pothole' 3.Hwang Dongsoo was just incredibly, incredibly powerful. He was an S-Rank hunter that even overshadowed Cha Hae-in. He received a big power-up from Madam… It's just that the only people he fought are Jinwoo and his dad, both of whom stand in another league completely.'So when fans saw him go down fast, that was only due to the fact that he was matched against absurdly buffed enemies. Greed's rank wasn't an error—Dongsoo truly was deserving of the title.Fans were under the impression that shadow soldiers were more powerful the more powerful Jinwoo became. According to Chugong, that's not entirely accurate. Instead, the System that bestowed Jinwoo his powers actually places restrictions on new shadows when they're first born. Each of these limits gradually rises as Jinwoo gets closer to awakening his true self as the Shadow Monarch. That's how Greed and Beru appeared to be evenly matched at first, even if Beru became way stronger afterwards. Beru's power was already near the Marshal rank by the time Greed was summoned, and Jinwoo's power level at that point let Greed keep a lot of his original strength.Historically, a fan favorite exception to this has been shadow soldier Igris, one of the very first shadows Jinwoo summons. He was always the most loyal and powerful, but most people slept on him because he showed up so early in the narrative.'If Igris had come down in his true form, all the National Level hunters across the globe working together wouldn't have been able to hope to defeat him—much less every S-Rank in the world combined.>>>That means Igris is not only strong. He's one of the strongest characters in the entire Solo Leveling universe, right out of the gate.Solo Leveling is officially available to stream in the US and UK exclusively on Crunchyroll, with both subbed and dubbed versions released. Episodes are available for purchase on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, FandangoNOW, Google Play, Microsoft Movies & TV, and Vudu. These new insights from Chugong effectively put an end to numerous fan theories regarding the series and further clarify the reasoning behind the power scaling in Solo Leveling . As Season 2 just began streaming, there are plenty more exciting developments on the way, including Jinwoo becoming the true Shadow Monarch.

Why Tinder's New Height Preference Filter Has Sparked Debate
Last Updated: The update is currently being tested among select Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum subscribers. All you need is love… and now, a little height too. Tinder is making waves with a new feature that allows users to set a preferred height range for the matches they see. The new option was first noticed by a Reddit user who found it in the app's Discovery Settings. According to a report by TechCrunch, the update is currently being tested among select Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum subscribers. Phil Price Fry, Tinder's VP of Communications, explained to the outlet, 'We're always listening to what matters most to our Tinder users — and testing the paid height preference is a great example of how we're building with urgency, clarity, and focus." 'This is part of a broader effort to help people connect more intentionally on Tinder. Our new product principles guide every decision, and this one speaks directly to a few: prioritising user outcomes, moving fast, and learning quickly. Not every test becomes a permanent feature, but every test helps us learn how we can deliver smarter, more relevant experiences and push the category forward," he added. While dating apps often let users filter potential matches by age or relationship goals, adding a height filter has sparked quite a bit of debate online. One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, 'So height filter's cool but if guys ask for BMI you'd call Interpol. Modern equality: women get tall genes, men get shamed for preferences. At least we can drop the act, Tinder's basically a genetic stock exchange." Another said, 'Make an 'acceptable weight' slider for women and watch them lose their s***." 'Damn, so the end times is really here. I already give up and banned from Tinder anyway," a person wrote while an individual joked, 'Short guy are triggered." Someone else wrote, 'As long as they let men filter out women based on weight, then I'm all for it." One sarcastic comment read, 'Wow. Technology never ceases to amaze me. This is life changing…" Another asked, 'If Tinder is adding a height filter for women to choose taller men, shouldn't they also add a waist filter for men to choose slimmer women? Fair question, don't you think." While the filter has sparked different opinions, Tinder says that the setting will indicate a preference rather than functioning as a 'hard filter." This means profiles won't be blocked or excluded but the setting will help guide the matches you see.

The Ryan Coogler film now has a domestic total of $267.1 million and $350.1 million worldwide. Sinners is a supernatural horror film produced, written, and directed by Ryan Coogler. Set in 1932 in the Mississippi Delta, the film stars Michael B. Jordan in dual roles as criminal twin brothers who return to their hometown to start again where they are confronted by a supernatural evil. The film co-stars Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, and Delroy Lindo. As for other new releases, they're no slouch either. Karate Kid: Legends opened strong with an estimated $21 million, and Bring Her Back also brought in big numbers. Together, all new films released post-Memorial Day brought in $149 million — that's 120 per cent higher than the same time last year. Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning kept its grip on the No. 2 spot this weekend with $27.3 million from 3,861 locations. The film has made $122.6 million in the U.S. so far. But given its massive $400 million production cost, it still has a long way to go. Its release in China added another $25.2 million, bringing its worldwide total to $353.8 million. Final Destination: Bloodlines followed in fourth place with $10.8 million during its third weekend. Interestingly, this fourth installment is now the most successful entry in the horror franchise. As Chinese Harvard Student Says ‘Humanity Rises, Falls As One'. Two Men Fight In Background
Last Updated: In her speech, Yurong 'Luanna' Jiang talked about how international students help build a world connected through diversity and shared progress. Yurong 'Luanna" Jiang, the first Chinese woman chosen as Harvard's student speaker, caught the world's attention with her emotional graduation speech. She spoke about the importance of 'shared humanity" and called for global unity. Her message struck a chord, especially amid growing tensions around international students from China following the Trump administration's tough visa policies. After delivering her speech, Jiang gave an interview to the Associated Press (AP) where she expressed her thoughts more deeply. 'The message itself, if I have to put it into one sentence, will be that humanity rises and falls as one. We are living in a very difficult time. There are a lot of divisions in terms of ideas, ethnicities, and identities. This is a time where we can use a little bit more moral imagination and imagine ourselves being connected with one another," Jiang told AP. But what happened during that interview unexpectedly stole the show. While Jiang was giving her interview, two men were seen fighting in the background. Just as she said, 'Humanity rises and falls as one," the men behind her suddenly fell to the ground fighting. After they got up, they continued their argument. The video clip of this strange scene sparked interest across social media with many seeing it as a powerful metaphor for the divisions Jiang spoke about. One user sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, 'During an interview with the 25-year-old Chinese student who was Harvard's valedictorian, two old American men were fighting behind her – it was like some kind of metaphor. You cannot make satirical sitcoms in the US these days because real life can look like this." In the comments, social media users shared their reactions to the unexpected fight happening during such a serious interview. One user commented, 'Priceless!! It's just like an old Charlie Chaplin movie!!!" Another added, 'That hardcut from the wrestling match to the clapping has me dead." 'Hilarious. She said 'humanity rises and falls as one' and down the guys behind her went…" while another added, 'Oh boy, this is so well timed," someone else said. An individual called it 'simultaneously hilarious and depressing." Other remarks included, 'My first belly laugh of the day," 'Absolute cinema" and 'America in a nutshell." In her speech, Jiang talked about how international students help build a world connected through diversity and shared progress. But she warned that this connected world was now being replaced by fear, division and conflict. 'Humanity rises and falls as one. But today … we're starting to believe that people who think differently, vote differently, or pray differently – whether they're across the ocean or sitting right next to us – are not just wrong. We mistakenly see them as evil. But it doesn't have to be this way," she said. 'If we still believe in a shared future, let us not forget: those we label as enemies – they, too, are human. In seeing their humanity, we find our own. In the end, we don't rise by proving each other wrong. We rise by refusing to let one another go. We are bound by something deeper than belief: our shared humanity," she added. Even though Jiang didn't mention the Trump administration's immigration policies in her speech, she told AP that the recent threats to arrest or send international students back home have made her and her classmates feel worried and unsure about their future in the US. According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Harvard has over 10,000 international students right now. That's about 30% of all students with roughly 2,000 coming from China. This week, the Trump administration asked government agencies to cancel contracts worth around $100 million with Harvard. Before that, it had already stopped more than $2.6 billion in research funding, tried to block Harvard from accepting international students and even threatened to take away the university's tax-exempt status. The government also widened its efforts by pausing visa applications worldwide and warning that thousands of Chinese students could lose their US visas. Watch CNN-News18 here.
