Ty Burrell has ‘no regrets' leaving Hollywood for Utah after ‘Modern Family' success
'Modern Family' star Ty Burrell, 57, recently admitted that he has 'no regrets' ditching Hollywood for Utah following his success on the popular ABC sitcom.
'It's just been spectacular,' he told People in an interview published Sunday, August 3.

'We moved here right after ['Modern Family'] ended, and I don't have any regrets,' Burrell added. 'It's been lovely and a great place to raise the kids.'
The 'Black Hawk Down' actor and his wife, Holly Burrell, 50, left Los Angeles for Salt Lake City in 2020 following the 11th and final season of 'Modern Family.'

Since the move, they have raised their teen daughters, Frances, 15, and Greta, 13, and have committed to a new 'outdoorsy' way of life.

However, Burrell admitted that life in Utah is a big change compared to the more than ten years he spent living in Hollywood while filming 'Modern Family.'
'My parents weren't really those kinds of people,' the 'Out of Practice' star said regarding life in the mountains.

'So at first, when we moved here, it almost felt like cosplay, like we were pretending to be people who were outdoorsy, and now we really truly love it,' he added.

Burrell, who starred as goofy real estate agent Phil Dunphy in all 11 seasons of 'Modern Family,' previously opened up about his wife and how they've managed their 25-year marriage earlier this year.
'This is probably connected to the really old axiom of 'Don't go to bed angry,' but we force ourselves to talk about stuff,' he told People in March. 'Both of us make sure that if something's wrong, by the end of the night, we have at least had some discussion about it.'

'Neither one of us are silent treatment people, and I think that's a real benefit, because I think that can be really hard on a relationship, when you don't talk about things,' Burrell said.

Much like real life, Burrell starred as a family man in 'Modern Family.'
He was married to Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen), and the on-screen couple shared Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke (Nolan Gould).
Ed O'Neill (Jay Pritchett), Sofía Vergara (Gloria Delgado-Pritchett), Rico Rodriguez (Manny), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett) and Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker) rounded out the cast, and the show went on to win a total of 22 Primetime Emmy Awards throughout its 11-season run.

Although Burrell has largely stayed out of the spotlight since 'Modern Family' ended, he did break cover for a 'Modern Family' reunion at the 2024 SAG Awards after Ferguson twisted his arm to attend.
Plus, several fans of the show thought Burrell had passed away after he failed to appear for a previous reunion that the award-winning cast organized.

While the 'Incredible Hulk' actor has mainly stuck to voiceover work in the years since leaving Hollywood, he did recently launch a podcast series, titled 'The Good Life,' that is loosely based on his own childhood.

However, Burrell has not ruled out an eventual return to the big or small screen following his new podcast project.

'I'm starting to get the itch again to perform,' he told People. 'I've mostly done voiceover work and things like this podcast. And if it accidentally works, I'd love to do a second season.'
'It was such a fun process and has so many great people in it,' Burrell concluded. 'I hope people check it out.'

In June 2020, Forbes reported that the production had surpassed $1 billion in global revenue, making it one of the few to reach the milestone. The achievement helped land Miranda, 45, on the list of the world's highest-paid celebrities, with estimated earnings of $45.5 million that year.
