Reliance Consumer Products enters healthy beverages market with Naturedge JV
Mumbai, Aug 19 (UNI) Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL) has officially entered the healthy functional beverages market by acquiring a majority stake in a joint venture with Naturedge Beverages, the maker of the natural herbal functional drink brand 'Shunya'. The move strengthens RCPL's vision of becoming a "total beverage company" by adding health-focused, herbal-natural offerings to its expanding portfolio, according to a company statement. Naturedge Beverages, founded in 2018 by Siddhesh Sharma of the Baidyanath Group, is known for its flagship brand 'Shunya', a zero-calorie, zero-sugar functional drink infused with Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Khus, Kokum, and Green Tea. The joint venture will help scale the 'Shunya' beverage brand across India through RCPL's vast distribution network. RCPL Executive Director Ketan Mody stated that the partnership had strengthened the company's beverage portfolio by offering consumers health-driven alternatives. He added that the collaboration would help position 'Shunya' as a pan-India brand, in line with the rising consumer preference for herbal-natural functional beverages. Doon-based orthopaedic surgeon appointed president of AIIMS Guwahati
DEHRADUN: The Government of India has nominated recipient Soon-based orthopaedic surgeon Dr BKS Sanjay as the president of AIIMS Guwahati. AIIMS Guwahati, one of 19 premier institutions across the country, was established to provide high-quality medical education, research, and patient care in the northeastern region. According to the government, the new AIIMS institutions are envisioned as key pillars of the Viksit Bharat Mission. Dr Sanjay, an acclaimed orthopaedic surgeon, clinical researcher, academician, author and social worker, has a career spanning over 45 years. He received his basic orthopaedic training from Kanpur, PGI Chandigarh, and the Central Institute of Orthopaedics, New Delhi, and pursued advanced fellowships in subspecialties of orthopaedics from Sweden, Switzerland, Japan, the USA, and Russia. His research and clinical work have been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, International Orthopaedics, and Journal of Hand Surgery. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said Dr Sanjay's appointment is aimed at strengthening medical education, research, and patient care in the northeastern states. In recognition of his distinguished contributions, he was conferred the Padma Shri in 2021.
