‘Full House's' Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber reveal Mr. Woodchuck's shocking price tag
On the August 5 episode of Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber's 'Full House' rewatch podcast, 'How Rude, Tanneritos!,' the co-hosts and longtime friends discussed the story behind Joey's (Dave Coulier) beloved cheeky sidekick.

The episode recapped the sitcom's 100th installment, 'The Legend of Ranger Joe,' which introduced Joey's stint as children's TV show personality 'Ranger Joe' — and, of course, the famous chipmunk puppet himself, Mr. Woodchuck.
'I learned this from reading Jeff's book: this puppet cost $25,000,' Barber, 49, revealed, referring to the series' creator, Jeff Franklin.

Sweetin, 43, chimed in, 'I remember hearing that, because after Dave's dog ate the face off of it, 20 years later, he was like, 'You have no idea. You don't even know how expensive that was. You don't even know.''
'It was built by the Henson Muppet Monster Workshop,' she added of the Jim Henson company. 'They have a special little Muppet fleecing that they use. I got to touch a Hanson Muppet monster creation, even then.'
In 2016, Coulier, 65, hosted a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) where he was asked if he managed to keep any memorabilia from the 'Full House' set after the series ended in 1995.

'I kept the original Mr. Woodchuck,' he revealed. 'And then, my dog Ranger ate his face.'
Despite the original Mr. Woodchuck's tragic death at the paws of Coulier's ironically named pup, the fan-favorite puppet made a surprise return in the 'Full House' sequel, 'Fuller House,' which aired on Netflix from 2016 to 2020.

Coulier later shared on Reddit that the Mr. Woodchuck replica had been a gift.
'The Mr. Woodchuck on 'Fuller House' was [given] to me by Jimmy Fallon,' he wrote.
Prior to its appearance on the sitcom's follow-up series, the puppet made another surprise cameo on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' in 2014, when the men of 'Full House' — the late Bob Saget, John Stamos and Coulier — reunited for a parody sketch to help Fallon bid farewell to the show ahead of his move to 'The Tonight Show.'

Saget, who tragically died on Jan. 9, 2022, at the age of 65, reprised his role of Danny Tanner, while Stamos and Coulier stepped back into character as Uncle Jesse Katsopolis and Joey Gladstone, respectively.
After Fallon, 50, admits he's sad to be leaving 'Late Night,' Saget — in full Danny Tanner mode — turns to Stamos and Coulier and says, 'Hey, I know what always cheers Jimmy up.'

Coulier then pulls Mr. Woodchuck out from behind Stamos, asking, 'The comedic stylings of Ranger Joe and Mr. Woodchuck?'
In true Mr. Woodchuck fashion, Coulier, using the puppet's voice, delivers the line: 'Hey Jimmy, are you made of… wood?' — a nod to the running gag from the original show.
Sweetin and Barber, for their part, played Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, respectively, on the classic series.

Betty White's co-star Valerie Bertinelli opens up about the late legend helping during her toughest times
Valerie Bertinelli is reflecting on her days working with a television icon. In a clip from 'The Drew Barrymore Show' shared earlier this week, Bertinelli can be seen answering questions from the audience. When one fan asked what the best piece of advice she's ever received was, she brought up one of her former co-stars. 'The best piece of advice is from Betty White,' Bertinelli said. 'She really taught me about gratitude. I thought I was grateful. She was just living, breathing gratitude, every second of her life, every moment I was around her.' She went on to say that White 'was grateful for the good, the bad, the ugly, all of it,' and that outlook has helped her deal with 'really challenging things of the past five years,' saying 'I'm grateful for the hard stuff.' 'It's sucked, and I wish I didn't have to go through it, but there was no other way for me to learn a better way,' Bertinelli continued. 'And I think mistakes are there purposefully to help us learn what not to do.' She concluded: 'So, gratitude for sure. Every moment, I'm grateful for. Even the hard stuff. Especially the hard stuff. That's Betty White.' Bertinelli and White starred alongside each other on the hit show 'Hot In Cleveland' for six seasons, from 2010 to 2015. White played Elka Ostrovsky, the elderly homeowner Bertinelli's character and her friends rent a house from when they decide to move from Los Angeles to Cleveland. She also spoke about her relationship with White during her appearance on the talk show in June, saying 'she was magical,' and calling herself 'lucky' to have been able 'to work with her for five years.' 'Hot In Cleveland' star Valerie Bertinelli shared on 'The Drew Barrymore Show' the best advice her costar, the late Betty White, gave her. Instagram/thedrewbarrymoreshow The actress has been very vocal about her recent struggles on social media, often taking to Instagram to share what she is going through. In May 2025, she shared with her followers that she is 'going through some of the most emotionally excruciating eight months of my life.' 'This is not to say I feel sorry for myself because I don't. Nobody has the market cornered on grief and heartache. People go through hard s— all the time. You just do what you have to do to get through what you have to get through,' she said. 'And I don't know that I would change any of it. I've learned so much more about my strength, my weaknesses, my patience, my resilience, and my worth. I still have more inner work left to do.' Two months later, Bertinelli took to the social media app to share that she is struggling to remain sober during her more difficult moments. Bertinelli said, 'She really taught me about gratitude. I thought I was grateful. She was just living, breathing gratitude, every second of her life, every moment I was around her.' WireImage 'I've been going through some really intense, uncomfortable, sad, emotionally excruciating feelings the last few days, and I want to drink. I want to numb it. I don't want to feel it,' Bertinelli admitted. She continued, 'But my logical mind is like, 'No, you don't want to do that. You don't want to numb it. You know what will help you feel better is to just feel the feelings. Get through to the other side. Have a good cry.' And yet, I can't cry.' While she didn't disclose what her specific struggles have been, she broke up with her boyfriend Mike Goodnough in November 2024, after 10 months of dating.

David Beckham is making the first move.
