Brainteaser asks players to guess the 'poor man's' song choice -answer leaves them baffled
A brainteaser that's been dubbed as 'easy to solve but isn't' has left people scratching their heads. The puzzle encourages participants to think creatively and consider the 'simple' solution, which can often be the correct one.
The riddle was shared on the Reddit thread titled 'What are some of the best brainteasers in the world?'
It begins: "A poor man walks into a bar and starts talking with a really rich man. The poor man says, 'You know, I know every song in the world. I bet all your fortune and possessions that I can find a song with any name you want'.
"The rich man, chuckling, accepts and challenges him to find a song featuring his daughter's full name, Julie-Monique-Alexandrina.
"A few minutes later, the poor man exits the bar, with the rich man's wallet, car(s) key(s), clothes, etc. He won his bet. How?"
One user speculated that the answer could be Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega, given its inclusion of numerous female names such as Angela, Pamela, Sandra, Rita, Monica, Erica, Tina, Sandra, Mary, and Jessica, reports the Mirror.
Echoing this guess, another user chimed in: "I was thinking Mambo No 5. That song has quite a few lady names."
Meanwhile, others were stumped and pleaded with the original poster to reveal the solution.
The quizmaster eventually shared the correct answer, stating simply: "He sang Happy Birthday."
However, this isn't the only mind-boggler that has left people scratching their heads recently. A question once posed by Google to its job applicants has sparked a lively debate on social media.
TikTok creator Tanya Zakowich, known as @pinkpencilmath on social media, revealed that Google used to challenge its job candidates with a brainteaser during interviews - and wouldn't hire anyone who couldn't solve it.
Yet, in 2013, Google is thought to have phased out these questions, with the former head of Google human resources telling the New York Times they couldn't "predict anything" and were mainly designed to "make the interviewer feel smart".
In her video, she shared: "If you don't know the prisoner hat riddle, you're going to love this one. It's a super classic brainteaser that was commonly asked in job interviews at Google."
She then proceeded to explain the riddle: "There were four prisoners on a staircase all facing the same direction. A brick wall separates prisoner 4 from the rest."
She explained that prisoner 1 can see prisoners 2 and 3, while prisoner 2 can only see prisoner 3 and prisoners 3 and 4 cannot see anyone.
"All four prisoners are wearing hats. They are told there are only two black hats and white white hats. However, they do not know the colour of the hats they are personally wearing.
"The prisoners were told to shout out the colour of the hat they're wearing as soon as they know what colour it is."
With this information, she poses the question: "Who is the first person to shout out correctly - and why?"
Laying down the guidelines, the prisoners are not allowed to turn around to see each other, move in any other formation, or remove their own hats.
Did you manage to figure it out? Check the correct answer.

Love Is Blind UK participant cut from Netflix series
Love Is Blind UK returned for a second series on Netflix on August 13, following 30 new single men and women on the hunt for their soulmate. However, unlike other dating shows, on this series, participants get to know each other from behind a wall and only meet face-to-face if they decide to take the leap and get engaged. Netflix adds: "After meeting face-to-face, each engaged couple will move in together and navigate the stresses of daily life — from family drama to hectic work schedules and everything in between. "At the end of it all, they'll walk down the aisle and decide if they're ready to say 'I do' within a matter of weeks." Love Is Blind UK season 2 couples (SPOILERS AHEAD) The first five episodes of Love Is Blind UK, season 2, were released on Netflix last Wednesday (August 13), and saw the 30 new singles enter the pods. Five couples emerged from the pods and headed off on their honeymoon in Cyprus: Billy and Ashleigh Kal and Sarover Kieran and Megan Jed and Bardha Javen and Katisha The next three episodes of Love Is Blind UK are also now available to watch, having been released on Wednesday (August 20). The final two episodes of season two will be released next Wednesday (August 27). When does Netflix release shows? Love Is Blind participant cut from Netflix series despite getting engaged However, it appears there was a sixth couple to come from season two of Love Is Blind UK, who were cut from the Netflix show. Ross Millington was one of the male participants and could be spotted briefly during the early episodes. The 30-year-old barber shop owner was rarely seen in the pods, but was shown chatting with the other men in the lounge at various points. Ross has now revealed that he found a connection in the pods on Love Is Blind, got engaged, but was cut from the show and didn't make it to Cyprus for the honeymoon stage (or beyond). A fan posted a video on TikTok with her theory of "who got cut from Love Is Blind UK". Commenting on the TikTok post, Ross said: "That was me. I didn't make it to Greece unfortunately. Reveal went well though." Despite Ross revealing he did get engaged on the show, he didn't reveal which female it as to. Following news of Ross' snub by Netflix, Love Is Blind fans took to Reddit to debate why couples are cut from the show. One person, posting on r/LoveIsBlindOnNetflix, said: "Well, this happens all the time. I remember they had to cut 5 or 6 (!) engaged couples from the first UK season. "It's always so weird that we don't get to see these people at all. Why do they even bother producing promo material?" Top 10 most-watched Netflix shows of all time Another added: "I counted 2 guys and 2 gals during the "I'm engaged" scenes that had zero screen time. "They are still around during those moments and I would assume they may have ended up as a couple but were not picked to go to Cyprus. "Makes you wonder if their connection was boring/lack of drama to not be picked over Javen and Katisha." RECOMMENDED READING: A third fan posted: "I'd still rather see more couples than fewer. I'd rather they just put their hand in their pockets and sent all engaged couples on the honeymoon. "Not as if Netflix is struggling for cash 🧐 and it can't be that hard to edit in a couple more couples honestly. It would make it more interesting." While this person joked: "Good thing he (Ross) didnt make it to Greece, as they went to Cyprus." Netflix has been contacted for comment.

Meghan Markle questioned over silence as Harry leaves 'secret' letter at royal event
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Prince Harry is reportedly making earnest efforts to mend fences with the Royal family, while Meghan has remained silent following his latest peace offering. It has come to light that just a few days ago, the Duke left a letter at a Royal event attended by King Charles and Queen Camilla. He reportedly asked a friend to subtly leave a note and a wreath of red poppies at the Burma Star Memorial, in honour of the national VJ Day commemorations. Interestingly, the letter was placed after Charles and Camilla had departed, so as not to detract from the service, which paid tribute to the sacrifice of Second World War heroes who fought and perished in the Pacific and Far East. Meanwhile, Meghan's signature was absent from the letter. This isn't the first time she's maintained her silence in recent weeks, leading experts to question why she hasn't voiced support for her husband amidst a 'devastating' boardroom dispute. Earlier this year, the Duke resigned from Sentebale, the charity he established to assist children orphaned by Aids in Lesotho, following a tense confrontation with the chairwoman, Dr Sophie Chandauka, reports the Mirror. Harry was reportedly heartbroken by the disagreement, which resulted in all parties being reprimanded by the Charity Commission for allowing the dispute to become so public. Many anticipated Meghan to publicly support Harry. However, her continued silence has raised eyebrows among Royal observers. (Image: PA) In her latest Instagram post, Meghan Markle chose to sidestep the ongoing controversy. The 44 year old Duchess shared a video on Tuesday in which she is seen preparing and serving a lemon pasta spaghetti dish; before this, she promoted the forthcoming second series of With Love Meghan. Dr Tessa Dunlop, an expert, told the Mirror: "Now that Meghan and Harry have signed a new Netflix deal ('looser' and apparently less lucrative than the previous $78m one but a deal nonetheless), might the Duchess find her voice?". "Not the one she volubly uses to hawk As Ever wares (in conjunction with Netflix) but rather the voice Meghan famously re-found after leaving the Royal Family, the one that talked her truth to Royal power and surely could talk her truth to the Sentebale fiasco?". "No, really, why hasn't Meghan come out batting for Prince Harry in his latest round of verbal fisty-cuffs concerning his former African charity? After all, the Duke has consistently spoken out in support of his wife, establishing the precedent early on and against the wishes of his family when he condemned Britain's media coverage and insisted he had never before witnessed such a 'degree of pressure, scrutiny and harassment' from the press. "As it currently stands, Harry cuts a lonely figure. The Charity Commission 'identified a 'strong perception of ill treatment' swirling in the unhappy waters of his former charity, Sentebale. It was a terse ruling that exonerated no one; all parties remain incandescent, particularly the aggrieved prince, who insists the report has fallen 'troublingly short'. "In other words, the Duke of Sussex's nemesis, Dr Sophie Chanduka, is still at large, running Harry's former beloved Sentebale. The Duke could really do with some public TLC, especially from his wife, whose own issues with said Dr Chanduka were allegedly caught on camera at a polo match Sentebale fundraiser." This follows the confirmation by Harry and Meghan that they have extended their deal with Netflix, having signed a new "multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects". While the Duchess was quick to celebrate the signing, experts suggested that the deal represents a step down for the couple.
