Dan Lawrence hits unbeaten ton as Surrey earn six-wicket win against Glamorgan
Glamorgan pair Colin Ingram (69) and Asa Tribe (56) had both made quick-fire half-centuries for the visitors, but Lawrence, who was undefeated after facing 54 balls, sealed Surrey's win with a straight six.

Somerset remain in top spot in the South Group after securing their 10th win from 12 matches by beating Kent by five wickets in Canterbury.
Riley Meredith took three for 19 as Kent were restricted to 137 for eight and Somerset cantered to victory, with Tom Abell (34 not out) leading them home at the start of the 18th over.
New Zealand's Kane Williamson (52) and skipper Leus du Plooy (54) starred in Middlesex's 23-run win against Gloucestershire.
Middlesex reached 189 for five and Gloucestershire fell short in their run chase, reaching 166 for seven to fall short, despite a 46-ball 64 from opener D'Arcy Short.

Essex notched just their second win of the season thanks to opener Michael Pepper, who struck an unbeaten 87 off 47 deliveries in their six-wicket win against Sussex in Chelmsford.
Sussex were skittled for 145, with Mohammad Amir (three for 16) the pick of Essex's bowlers, before Pepper steered the home side to 148 for four in the 17th over.
In the North Group, top two Durham and Lancashire both lost – the latter losing to Roses rivals Yorkshire in Manchester for the first time since 2014 – while wins for the Bears and Northamptonshire left all four on 28 points.
Jonny Bairstow hit 10 sixes in a stunning career best 116 off 54 balls as struggling Yorkshire clinched a 19-run win at Old Trafford.

Opener Bairstow shared 167 with Will Luxton, who finished 90 not out off 46 balls as Yorkshire secured only their fourth win in 11 games this season after setting a target of 236 for six.
Lancashire's former England white-ball captain Jos Buttler hit a season's best 55 off 33 balls, but the home side were reduced to 217 for seven.
Nottinghamshire bowler Matthew Montgomery took four for 30 to help bowl Durham all out for 156 at Trent Bridge before Jack Haynes hit an unbeaten 55 for the home side, who cruised to 159 for three in reply.
Bears pair Hassan Ali (three for 32) and Danny Briggs (three for 37) were in dominant form with the ball in their side's 23-run win against Worcestershire, who mustered 153 all out, while chasing 177 for victory.
Northamptonshire's Matthew Breetzke (93 off 45), captain David Willey (53) and Saif Zaib, who smashed 53 not out off 20 deliveries, all starred with the bat in their side's 13-run win against Derbyshire.
The trio helped Northants reach 237 for four and although Derbyshire opener Aneurin Donald thrashed a 21-ball 71, the visitors fell 13 runs short.

Funeral of England cricket legend Syd Lawrence held in Bristol
The funeral of England cricket legend David 'Syd' Lawrence MBE is being held in Bristol today. The former fast bowler, who played for Gloucestershire as well as the national team, died aged 61 last month after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2024. A service is being held at St Mary Redcliffe Church in the city, where family, close friends and former team-mates will gather to remember the cricketer who became a legend of the sport. The lasting legacy of a cricketing legend David 'Syd' Lawrence, was the first British-born black cricketer to represent England. He was a strapping fast bowler who was renowned for being one of the quickest on the county circuit, Lawrence began to establish himself in Tests and a five-for against the West Indies in 1991 helped England seal a series-levelling win at the Oval, with Desmond Haynes and Viv Richards among his haul. But Lawrence's career all but ended the following year as he badly fractured his kneecap after falling awkwardly when running into bowl on the final day of a Test against New Zealand in Wellington. His England days were immediately over aged 28 but he made a brief county comeback in 1997, playing four first-class games for Gloucestershire before hanging up his boots – 16 years after he first played professionally. Lawrence became a competitive bodybuilder following his retirement and he was also a nightclub owner in Bristol. After Lawrence detailed his experiences of racism during his playing career, Gloucestershire issued an unreserved apology in September 2021 and six months later he became the county's first black president. He was appointed an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours weeks before he died for his services to cricket.

Calls grow to bring back professional cricket to North Wales
Senedd members Gareth Davies, who represents Vale of Clwyd, and North Wales MS Sam Rowlands visited Glamorgan County Cricket Club in Cardiff for talks with the club's senior management about expanding the sport across Wales, making it accessible to young people, and reintroducing professional matches to North Wales. Glamorgan last played home fixtures in Colwyn Bay in 2019, before the pandemic forced all matches to be held at their Sophia Gardens ground in 2020 and 2021. The club has not returned to North Wales since. Mr Davies, also the shadow cabinet secretary for culture, tourism, sport, and North Wales, said: "It was an absolute pleasure to visit Glamorgan County Cricket Club at their stunning grounds in Sophia Gardens. "As the only Welsh county cricket club, they are truly committed to expanding the sport across Wales, and it was a real eye-opener learning just how neglected the sport has been." During the meeting, Mr Davies and Mr Rowlands emphasised the lack of investment in cricket facilities in North Wales. Mr Davies said: "There's been a total lack of investment in cricketing facilities in North Wales despite the region producing the lion's share of young cricketing talent. "We need to see the Welsh Government stump up the cash to ensure the sport is passed on to the next generation." He also said he is hopeful that with collaboration between stakeholders, professional cricket could return to North Wales in the near future. Both MSs raised concerns about the decline of cricket education in schools, which they attributed to a lack of investment from the Welsh Government. They noted that many schools have dropped cricket from the curriculum, forcing young talent to look for opportunities in England. However, they welcomed news that a growing number of promising players are emerging from North Wales, underlining the need for targeted investment in the region. Glamorgan currently runs a school outreach programme to introduce children to cricket, but limited funding means it is mostly confined to South Wales. Mr Rowlands said: "As chair of the Senedd's Cross-Party Group on Tourism I am always keen to attract even more visitors to North Wales and have called on the Welsh Government to do more to encourage major sporting events to be held in North Wales. "Recently, I expressed my disappointment at the loss of county cricket and under-20s international rugby, which were often a regular occurrence in North Wales. "They attracted thousands of spectators during their time and it does not seem right that people in my region have to travel hundreds of miles to South Wales to see major sporting events."
