‘Coolie': Aamir Khan's first look from Rajinikanth's film with Lokesh Kanagaraj out
The first look introduces the star as the rugged-looking Dahaa, sporting a dark vest, smoking a pipe.
Notably, this comes just weeks after Aamir opened up on his role in Coolie during the promotions of his recent release, Sitaare Zameen Par. In an interview with Zoom, Aamir revealed that he agreed to do the role without even reading the script since he is a huge fan of Rajinikanth. 'I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini sir...huge fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, 'Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it,' said the star.
Rajinikanth's Coolie boasts an ensemble star cast that includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj. Pooja Hegde is set to play a special role. Shruti Haasan is the other prominent actor in the movie.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the movie, while Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer. Anbariv is in charge of the stunt choreography. Sun Pictures is producing the film.
Lokesh had previously confirmed that Coolie will not be part of his popular film universe called the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which includes movies such as Kaithi, Vikram and Leo.
Aamir, last seen in Sitaare Zameen Par, is also set to begin working on his dream project, Mahabharata, and a biopic on pioneering filmmaker and the father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke, with director Rajkumar Hirani. Interestingly, Aamir and Lokesh are all set to team up for a big-scale superhero action film set to go into production in 2026.

Sudhanshu Pandey Slams The Traitors' Co-Player Apoorva: ‘Bad Language Kills All Goodness'
Last Updated: Sudhanshu Pandey emphasised how crucial it is to be mindful of language, especially in a show that reaches millions. Television actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who was seen as one of the Innocents in The Traitors India Season 1, recently opened up about fellow contestant and content creator Apoorva Mukhija. In an interview, he didn't hold back while addressing her dual behavior and use of abusive language on the show. In a conversation with Zoom, Sudhanshu said, 'It was how they speak about the same person on face and behind the back. This is the new generation, and they are a big lost because there is no sense of concept of culture that you belong to. Apoorva is a very good kid, she has got a kind heart but these kids don't understand ki agar aapki zubaan kharab hai toh aapki saari acchaiyaan saari doob jaati hai (If your language is bad, all your goodness gets overshadowed). Then you would not even want to know whether your heart is good or not." He emphasised how crucial it is to be mindful of language, especially in a show that reaches millions. 'Especially when you are on camera, you have about 20 crore people watching you and when you are abusing like it's their second nature. They think it is very cool to be like that because we are Gen Z," he added. Sudhanshu also weighed in on the leaked chat between Apoorva and fellow contestant Urfi Javed that has been doing the rounds. In the chat, Apoorva is seen congratulating Urfi, saying 'tune toh show jeeta hai (you have won the show)." Responding to it, he said, 'I have no idea, but in case there is some chat like this where they might be saying things that can be detrimental for their viewership, then it is wrong." The Traitors India, hosted by Karan Johar, concluded with Urfi Javed and Nikita Luther emerging as the winners. The final episode of the reality series dropped today.
