198 foreigners denied entry at KLIA for failing immigration checks
Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said those barred entry will be deported under the 'Not to Land' (NTL) procedure, with airlines responsible for returning them to their countries of origin.
Of the total, 128 were intercepted at Terminal 1, comprising 123 Bangladeshis, two Pakistanis, two Indonesians, and one Syrian.
The remaining 70 at Terminal 2 included 51 Indonesians, 13 Indians, four Pakistanis, and two Vietnamese nationals.
Shuhaily also revealed possible syndicate involvement, following the discovery of photos of AKPS officers on the phones of several detainees, believed to be used to help others evade enforcement.
'These images were likely shared by individuals previously deported. It's a sign that syndicates are adapting to enforcement actions,' he said.
He warned that operations will continue to ensure Malaysia is not used as a transit hub for illegal entry. - Bernama

Woman nabbed at KLIA with nine exotic animals in luggage
SEPANG: A woman has been arrested on suspicion of trying to smuggle nine exotic animals worth an estimated RM127,000 out of the country through Kuala Lumpur International Airport's (KLIA) Terminal 1. The 39-year-old local, who was travelling to India, was arrested at 9.30pm on Monday (July 28) after Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) officers conducted a routine baggage check and found nine wild animals in her checked luggage. "Among the animals seized were four ... siamang and (four) sugar gliders, and one ... macaque. "These animals are protected species and it is believed they were being smuggled for illegal international trade," AKPS said in a statement on Tuesday (July 29). The statement said the woman was taken to the KLIA police station for further investigation.
