Hulk Hogan's estranged daughter Brooke breaks down in tears amid heartbreak over his sudden death

Hulk Hogan 's estranged daughter Brooke got visibly emotional while out with her family in Orlando on Tuesday night following the recent and sudden loss of her dad. Just weeks after her father died of a heart attack at age 71, the TV personality, 37, looked caught up in grief as tears rolled down her face during a walk with her husband Steven Oleksy and their seven-month-old twins, Oliver and Molly. Oleksy, a retired ice hockey player, sweetly comforted his wife by wrapping his arm around her waist as he pushed their little ones' stroller down the sidewalk. Brooke, who went 'no contact' with both her parents prior to the WWE legend's passing, took a deep breath and placed her hand on his shoulder for support. An insider told TMZ that Brooke 'got emotional seeing the sunset' as it 'reminded her of her father.' 'She was telling her husband how much Hulk would have loved it,' the source claimed. Her latest sighting comes just days after Brooke opened up about her fallout from Hulk and that he never met her children. In an interview with TMZ, Brooke said she was uncomfortable with some of the people in Hulk's entourage, but pointed out that did not include his wife Sky Daily, 46. 'The estrangement is a boundary,' she explained, 'So I didn't like certain people he was around. It wasn't Sky, it was a number of people that I did not trust, that I had seen behavior in, and I said, "Dad, flashing yellow signs." Like, "Hey, this is messed up. Are you going to do anything about it?"' She explained that the six-time WWF champion was 'never alone. He was always with someone.' Brooke added that during one of their last conversations 'he gave the sentiment of like, "Well, I guess you have to live your life and I have to live mine."' 'That was kind of how it was left,' she said. Brooke also described a harsh interaction with her father, which was witnessed by a contractor working on a house for them. 'The contractor texted me — and said, "Are you OK, kid? That hurt me watching what I saw." My dad had become a little bit callous in his old age, and that's OK,' she explained. Oleksy, a retired ice hockey player, sweetly comforted his wife by wrapping his arm around her waist as he pushed their little ones' stroller down the sidewalk. Brooke reiterated several times that she had no issue with Hulk's widow, Sky, but did reveal the Thunder in Paradise star had some reservations about marrying again. 'If I broke up with her, it'd be bad,' he reportedly told Brooke, but when she asked why, he only answered 'I don't wanna get into it.' She said they had respectful disagreements via text regarding whether he should break up with Sky at one point telling her 'Well, I haven't approved of who you've dated.' Brooke revealed she thought his behavior was 'childish' and would make her cry. 'There were hurtful things that he kind of said,' she explained. To honor her father's memory, Brooke and her husband, former NHL star Steven Oleksy, 39, took their babies to the beach. Gene was the late wrestler's middle name. 'Daddy, we honored you in the simplest way that agreed with my soul. We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved,' she shared in an emotional post on social media. Brooke and Olesky married in a private ceremony in Orlando in June 2022. Her father was not in attendance. Earlier this month, Brooke's husband told People he remained in contact with Hulk and says he reached out 'about a month and a half' after their twins were born in January. 'I sent text messages once again to kind of gauge where he was at, but there was no interest,' he claimed. Reports back in April claimed that Oleksy had made several failed attempts to 'foster peace' with the wrestling legend. Oleksy continued: 'She [Brooke] was there for every surgery leading up to the last two years. She would fly down on her own dime, take care of her dad, and it just made a lot of sense. 'No one understood his body, procedures, medications and everything else more than my wife,' he said. Hulk welcomed Brooke as well as son Nick, 35, with ex-wife Linda - whom he was married to from 1983 to 2009. He later tied the knot with Jennifer McDaniel in 2010 until their divorce in 2021. Two years later, the WWE legend said 'I do' to Sky and the pair were married up until his death. Brooke and her father last spoke nearly two years ago in September 2023 only weeks before he married Sky. On that call, Brooke expressed love and concern for her father - telling him that he shouldn't be working so hard due to his declining health. Despite her pleas for him to enjoy more of his life, those requests fell on deaf ears. The pair didn't speak again.

Trump says he will host Kennedy Center awards and rejected liberal artists

Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will host the Kennedy Center honors this year and said he had been heavily involved in choosing who to nominate, rejecting people he thought were too liberal. The US president named actor Sylvester Stallone, singer Gloria Gaynor, the rock band Kiss, country music star George Strait and actor and singer Michael Crawford among the first batch of Kennedy Center honors nominees since he took over as the Washington-based arts center's chairman upon returning to the White House this year. The president typically attends the annual honors event each December but sits in the audience as a VIP and hosts a reception for awardees at the White House. Trump's announcement that he will host the event is a break from tradition, although no details were released on what form that would take. His announcement continues his push to exert authority over US cultural institutions, such as the Smithsonian, and Democratic-led cities and came on the first full day that federalized national guard troops were on duty on the streets of Washington by order of the president. Trump has cited a crisis of crime and homelessness in the nation's capital to sharp criticism from opponents. In an appearance at the arts center on Wednesday morning, Trump also said that he intends to 'fully renovate' the entire infrastructure of the Kennedy Center to make it a 'crown jewel' of arts and culture in the US. 'We're going to bring it to a higher level than it ever hit,' the president said, adding the venue would be featured in next year's celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. Trump said he had been invited to host the Kennedy Center honors and had reluctantly agreed. Trump avoided the Kennedy Center awards during his first term after artists said they would not attend out of protest. After taking over as the chairman this year he fired the board of trustees and replaced it with loyalists amid an overhaul of the venue's offerings. In March, the producers of the rap musical Hamilton pulled out of staging their Broadway hit, citing Trump's aggressive takeover of the institution's leadership. In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump had teased a name change for the center, formally the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and said it would be restored to its past glory. 'GREAT Nominees for the TRUMP/KENNEDY CENTER, whoops, I mean, KENNEDY CENTER, AWARDS,' Trump wrote. He said work was being done on the site that would bring it 'back to the absolute TOP LEVEL of luxury, glamour, and entertainment'. 'It had fallen on hard times, physically, BUT WILL SOON BE MAKING A MAJOR COMEBACK!!!' he wrote. He did not announce a name change during his appearance later on Wednesday. House Republicans added an amendment to a spending bill Trump signed into law in July to rename the Kennedy Center Opera House after Melania Trump, but that venue has yet to be renamed. Maria Shriver, a niece of the late President Kennedy, a Democrat, has criticized as 'insane' a separate House proposal to rename the entire center after Trump. Trump said he was 'about 98% involved' in choosing the honorees this year. He added that he 'turned down plenty' of names, saying those individuals were 'too woke' or too liberal. He described the artists he announced on Wednesday, including several of his favorites, as 'great people'. Historically, a bipartisan advisory committee selects the recipients, who over the years have ranged from George Balanchine and Tom Hanks to Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell and Stephen Sondheim. In the past, Trump has floated the idea of granting Kennedy Center honors status to singer-songwriter Paul Anka and Stallone, one of three actors Trump named as Hollywood ambassadors earlier this year. Anka was supposed to perform My Way at Trump's first inaugural and backed out at the last moment. The Kennedy Center honors were established in 1978 and have been given to a broad range of artists. Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke is 'overwhelmed and emotionally drained' as she's seen crying in public after wrestling icon's death

Hulk Hogan 's estranged daughter, Brooke, has become 'overwhelmed and emotionally drained' following the WWE icon's death, the Daily Mail can reveal. The wrestling icon suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away at the age of 71 last month but, by then, Hogan had gone years without speaking to Brooke, 37. Brooke initially remained silent in the wake of his death, before later taking to social media and demanding an autopsy on his body, as she came to terms with the news. She then held her own memorial for the WWE legend last week after choosing not to attend the funeral with family and friends at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church. Despite their estrangement, the death has taken a huge toll on the 37-year-old - with pictures this week emerging of an emotional Brooke walking through Orlando. Now, a source close to the family has shed light on her situation and told the Daily Mail: 'Brooke is overwhelmed right now with everything. 'She has been receiving a lot more attention than the recent past, her father just died, so things are a bit off the rails right now. 'She hasn't been able to really digest it all. Also, we are days removed from what would have been her father's 72nd birthday. 'She is a very emotional person anyways, but all these things combined have made her have to dig deep in her feelings. She has been crying privately and publicly and it just hits her at different times.' In the days before his passing, WWE superstar Hogan was able to reconcile with his estranged daughter over a 'tearful conversation'. However, Brooke revealed she had felt her father starting to pull away - saying he no longer wanted support or advice from her, despite his health issues. The source continued: 'Her husband and her kids have been such a support system. For all that she has lost, she has realized all that she has and all that she has had. 'She was so close to her father and all the feelings that come from that, especially since they were estranged for a bit before his death has put everything into perspective. 'Nobody is ready for when this happens, but dealing with it in the public eye with arguable one of the most popular people on earth is an interesting thing to go through. This isn't an act in any way, she is emotionally drained.' Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, died on July 24 from a cardiac arrest, according to a Florida medical examiner's office. Brooke announced last week that she had opted to 'privately' honor her father The 71-year-old previously had leukemia and atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rhythm, the report from the District Six Medical Examiner also said. However, despite his previous health issues, Hogan's daughter Brooke took to social media in the days that followed to seemingly accuse the authorities of foul play. She later backtracked from those claims via a social media post but insisted she still wanted 'answers' over her father's death. Meanwhile, Hogan's son-in-law and Brooke's husband, Steven Oleksy, claimed the WWE icon had 'no interest' in meeting Brooke's twins prior to his death. According to People, Oleksy said: 'I sent text messages once again to kind of gauge where he was at, but there was no interest.' Reports back in April claimed that Oleksy had made several failed attempts to 'foster peace' with the wrestling legend. Oleksy continued: 'She [Brooke] was there for every surgery leading up to the last two years. She would fly down on her own dime, take care of her dad, and it just made a lot of sense. 'No one understood his body, procedures, medications and everything else more than my wife,' he said.
