Netflix's gripping new series lands perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score
American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden is the sister series to American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing and explores the counterterrorism efforts in the US in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.
The Netflix miniseries documents the manhunt and capture of Osama Bin Laden, who masterminded the terrorist attack. The three-parter stitches together archival footage and talking head interviews to capture a behind-the-scenes look at the governmental decision-making at the time.
Directors Daniel Sivan and Mor Loushy said their goal in making the show was to transport viewers into these rooms in real time, building from the initial intelligence that suggested an attack was imminent to figuring out who was responsible and seeking justice.
The show aims to ask viewers what they would do in such a situation, as the directors told Netflix's Tudum: 'For us, the best way to understand history is to truly experience it.

'Being thrown into the driver's seat after the worst attack in American history would rattle anyone, even these brave men and women who had devoted their lives to protecting Americans by assessing geopolitical threats and sounding alarms that were often ignored.
'But the intelligence analysts didn't have time to grieve or reflect. They had a mission at hand: to figure out who did this and stop them before the next attack.'
'American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden does not tell the story of the United States and the War on Terror,' said Sivan and Loushy. 'It tells the story of the people tasked to find the world's most wanted terrorist and bring him to justice. It [was] a hunt that changed their lives, America, and the world as we know it.'
The show's third episode gives Zero Dark Thirty a run for its money in its tense recreation of how Osama Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan was raided during a nighttime operation predicated on a hunch, but which resulted in his death 10 years after 9/11.
Netflix viewers have already shared their reactions to the show, taking to X to praise the direction.

Other viewers did note the one-sided nature of the documentary, describing it as jingoistic at times. @boredpeanutt shared: 'Watching the American manhunt for Osama bin Laden on Netflix rn, and it feels like the main point of the show is to make people sympathise with the CIA and the intelligence officers for their years-long intelligence failure. It's an overkill at this point.'

It ranked just behind My Oxford Year, but beat out anticipated titles like Happy Gilmore 2, Gladiator II, and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. The film blends KPop, Korean folklore, and fantasy action into a neon-lit, high-energy spectacle that's unlike anything else on Netflix. It follows fictional pop group HUNTR/X – global idols by day, demon slayers by night – as they face off against the Saja Boys, a rival boy band hiding a dark secret. Rotten Tomatoes critics have given the film a glowing 97% score, with many praising it for its originality, emotional depth, and sheer entertainment value. Netflix comedy from Dexter's Laboratory creator slammed as 'incredibly disgusting' by viewers
Viewers have reported switching it off just minutes in Netflix viewers have been switching off a brand new comedy film on the platform within minutes, branding it "insufferable" and "incredibly disgusting." Launched on the streaming service today (August 13), Fixed centres on a dog called Bull (voiced by Adam Devine) who learns he's about to be castrated and embarks on one final adventure with his mates. He also plans to woo the pedigree pooch he fancies next door, Honey (Kathryn Hahn), before going under the knife. The animated comedy was crafted by Genndy Tartakovsky, a five-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker behind Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack, reports the Mirror. Netflix's synopsis states: " From visionary director Genndy Tartakovsky comes Fixed, an adult animated comedy about Bull, an average, all-around good dog who discovers he's going to be neutered in the morning! "As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his balls! What could go wrong...?" The stellar cast also features Idris Elba as Rocco, Fred Armisen as Fetch and Bobby Moynihan as Lucky. Yet despite the celebrity talent involved, it has struggled to win over audiences from the get-go. "Fixed genuinely is insufferable and I'm only like five minutes in," one viewer began, adding: "I genuinely hate this. This is just corny sex jokes. I don't wanna see an animated dog's b******* flap while he's humping a grandma's leg." Another viewer abandoned the show after just the trailer, commenting: "It seemed incredibly disgusting (like worse than Big Mouth) just from the three second clip I watched while hovering over the title. Will absolutely not be investigating further," whilst a third disappointed Netflix subscriber added: "I still wanna know HOW were the voice actors talked into doing this." Not every viewer reacted so strongly to the film though. Defending the production, one supporter commented: "Just watched it. It's passable, wasn't as bad as the trailers made me think it would be but it's not a masterpiece by any means, great animation though." Speaking to Netflix's Tudum, Tartakovsky revealed how the cast was assembled: "Some of the material is a bit raunchy so we had to find people that were receptive to our sense of humor, and boy, did we. "I remember a moment where Kathryn Hahn read the script and called us - she wanted her character to be as raunchy as the other guys. It was a great note. We then rewrote her character to be reflective of that idea and she absolutely killed it."
