Pamela Anderson's replacement on Home Improvement and what she looks like now

Debbe Dunning had some enormous shoes to fill when she stepped onto the set of Home Improvement in 1992. Taking over the iconic role of Tool Time Girl after the departure of Pamela Anderson, Dunning faced a challenge few could envy: replacing a beloved TV bombshell. Before landing the part, Dunning, now 59, had built a modest résumé with a string of bit parts on popular sitcoms. But joining Home Improvement as Heidi marked a turning point in her career. Anderson, who had played Lisa, the original assistant to Tim Allen 's Tim 'the Tool Man' Taylor, had become a rising star in her own right. When Anderson left to take on the role of C.J. Parker on Baywatch—a part that would launch her into superstardom—Dunning was tapped to keep the Tool Time magic alive. At first, Anderson tried to juggle both shows, but it soon became clear that filming schedules couldn't overlap, and she chose to focus on Baywatch. On the show, Lisa's departure was explained by her decision to pursue a career as a paramedic, opening the door for Heidi, Dunning's character, to step in. Anderson would later make a guest appearance during season six, revealing her character had completed medical training and now worked at Detroit Memorial Hospital. Interestingly, the role of Lisa could have gone to someone else entirely. Ashley Judd, who wowed producers during her audition, was in the running but ultimately opted to pursue a film career. After Anderson signed on for Baywatch exclusively, the door swung wide open for Dunning, who remained Heidi for the entirety of Home Improvement, from 1992 through the series finale in 1999. Over eight seasons, she became a household name and cemented her place in television history. After the show wrapped, Dunning didn't disappear from the screen. On the show, Lisa's departure was explained by her decision to pursue a career as a paramedic, opening the door for Heidi, Dunning's character, to step in; (seen in 1993) She built a steady career with numerous guest appearances, including a small role on Baywatch—the very show that had pulled Anderson away years before. She also appeared on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Jamie Foxx Show, Boy Meets World, and various commercials, expanding her reach across television. On the big screen, she starred in the 2000 thriller The Spiral Staircase as well as the comedy Now You Know, showcasing her versatility. Off-screen, Dunning's personal life was just as full. She married volleyball star Steve Timmons in 1997, and the pair welcomed three children over the years. The couple eventually went their separate ways in 2018. During the years she focused on raising her kids, Dunning stepped away from Hollywood and turned her attention to a career in sales and marketing for J R Lennen Construction Inc., according to her LinkedIn. But Dunning would eventually return to the spotlight. In 2017, she launched her own travel series on DirecTV's Cowboy Channel: Debbe Dunning's Dude Ranch Round-Up. The series allowed her to exploredunique ranches across the country while sharing her infectious personality and hands-on approach. These days, she promotes herself as a 'lifestyle influencer,' highlighting her skills as a DIY expert, accomplished golfer, and dedicated advocate for healthy living and motherhood, according to her website. Fans can also connect with her through signed memorabilia, including calendars and posters featuring images from her early career, as well as personalized Cameo videos, which she offers for $125. On social media, Dunning is active on Instagram, posting clips and photos of herself on the golf course, hanging out with her kids, and maintaining her impressive fitness routine. More recently, she was spotted at Cedric The Entertainer's 12th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic VIP Pairings Party in August 2025, mingling with Hollywood's elite and reminding fans that she remains an enduring presence in the entertainment world.

Woman left stunned as she makes shocking discovery worth thousands after lifting up ‘cheap' flooring in her council flat

SHE was sitting in her lounge when she was overcome with an "urge" to take on another DIY job. So Charlene decided to give in, and began lifting up the "cheap" lino flooring in her front room. And, to her utter surprise, she ended up making a huge discovery worth thousands. She took to her TikTok page to share a video of her epic find, as she said: "Okay, I've just had a sudden urge to pull up my flooring while I was sitting down in my council flat. "I was told there was only tiles underneath this floor!" Charlene added that her "heart is literally racing" after she unveiled stunning parquet flooring. "Look how beautiful this flooring is underneath this cheap, cheap lino from like the 90s I think," she said. "Oh my god, look at this beautiful flooring! "I am so, so, so, so happy!" "I cannot believe this is under my cheap flooring," Charlene wrote over the top of the video, before adding in the caption that she's stunned "anyone would cover this up". "That's insane! Surely that'd cost thousands if you were getting it done today? Enjoy!" one wrote. "Whyyy would they cover that? Wow!" another added. "I know! It's a crazy world!" Charlene replied. "If this isn't proof that people just follow trends I don't know what is," a third wrote. "How could someone cover that amazing flooring?" "That is parquet flooring which is expensive," someone else said. "My house had it all up the hall when I came to view it I asked them to leave it. "But when I picked up the keys they had removed it!" "Lucky girl - may be in the hall too," another pointed out. "Yes it is but a huge part of it is just cement due to pipes…. Fingers crossed this one is clear," Charlene responded. "Wow! lucky you!" someone else raved. "Oh wow how beautiful is that!" another gushed. While someone else admitted they "literally gasped" when they saw Charlene's discovery, another insisted it's "criminal" to cover up such gorgeous flooring. "GIRL how'd ya get so lucky?! I'm having parquet flooring installed next week yay!!" another wrote.

I'm trolled for ‘wasting my money' by making my council house nice – but I plan to stay here for years so I won't stop

A MOTHER has confidently clapped back at trolls who have accused her of 'wasting money' by transforming her council house. Crystal Jewell, a 32-year-old mum-of-two from Portsmouth, is currently on a mission to upgrade her council house and her most recent project involved building a DIY media wall in her living room. 4 4 The DIY enthusiast took to social media to give her followers a before, during and after look at the cheap and cheerful overhaul and also took a swipe at haters who criticised her for investing in her home. As she cut wood to size and screwed it into her wall, she said: 'Imagine getting trolled on the internet just for spending money on trying to do my council house up and adding value to the property.' The content creator then asked: 'Why do people think that just because you live in social housing that we deserve the bare minimum?' Following this, the brunette beauty added: 'Apparently I'm 'wasting all of my money' by trying to make my house nice. 'Maybe you're right, but I'm probably gonna be here for many, many, many more years, so while I am here I am gonna put my heart and soul into this house and make it nice for me and my kids.' Justifying why she wants to add style to her home, the mother, who recently made a DIY dressing table for only £21, continued: 'Every single person deserves a nice home - sometimes things are just better left unsaid, especially when you don't know what that person's going through behind closed doors. 'But anyway, here's me wasting even more money on my council house apparently as I'm attempting to build a media wall.' Clearly unbothered by rude remarks, the DIY fan shared: 'So to all you little negative Sally's out there, this is the s**t I'm gonna carry on doing, because it makes me feel happy.' Showing off her finished media wall which we think looks fabulous, Crystal acknowledged: 'Don't ever let anyone make you out to feel any less of a person - everyone deserves nice things in life. 'Unfortunately, times are hard for a lot of people and a lot of us are just doing what we can to get by - and if it's these small things that make us happy, let us be.' Trolls say council houses can't look nice but my stunning hallway will prove them wrong The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 46,000 views, 2,895 likes and 234 comments. Social media users were gobsmacked by Crystal's DIY media wall and many eagerly raced to the comments to share their thoughts on her 'amazing' project. Rules on transforming your council house According to Gov, the kind of improvements you can make to your council property depends on the type of tenancy you have. Introductory tenants are usually limited to minor improvements like redecorating inside. If you're a secure tenant, you have the right to carry out improvements to your property. These include: installing a new bathroom or kitchen building an extension putting up a garden shed or greenhouse installing a new gas fire or fireplace cavity wall insulation redecorating the outside of a house fitting an aerial or satellite dish You might need your council's written permission for work you do. Contact your council if you're not sure. Not only this, but others told the savvy mum to ignore the 'jealous' trolls who criticise her. One person said: 'Your house looks awesome, good job.' Another added: 'Most people moan about people that live in council houses! You're making it look nice and people still moan! It's your house and you've done a cracking job, all the best.' A third commented: 'I absolutely love home DIY videos, but yours are on another level - you truly inspire me.' How to do your council house up on the cheap Take inspiration from pricier shops and head to B&M, Home Bargains for interior decorations. Head to YouTube for easy to follow tutorials on how to decorate rather than paying for professionals. For a quick glow-up for your floors or anywhere with tiles, opt for stick-on vinyl to save on costs. A lick of paint does wonders to make a room feel brand-new. Switch out kitchen cupboard knobs for modern ones instead of buying brand-new cupboards Meanwhile, someone else posted: 'People are so weird! It looks beautiful.' At the same time, another DIY fan beamed: 'It looks amazing.
