James Argent to perform onstage just days after arrest for 'pushing girlfriend down the stairs'

Yahoo16-05-2025

James Argent is set to perform onstage just days after his arrest for reportedly pushing his girlfriend Nicoline Artursson down the stairs in Spain.
The former TOWIE star, 37, pushed the former Miss Sweden, 32, during an argument at her apartment in Costa del Sol last Monday while trying to force her out of the front door, The Sun reported.
The ITV personality was arrested for domestic violence, given a six-month suspended prison sentence and a two-year restraining order.
Despite reports that Argent had flown back to Essex, he is scheduled to sing at Olivia's La Cala in Costa del Sol on May 22.
The reality star turned singer regularly performs at the restaurant, which is owned by his former TOWIE co-star, Elliott Wright.
The event is described as being an 'incredible evening of live music, vibrant energy, and unforgettable performances with James Argent'.
He is also booked to perform on May 29, as well as several dates in June, July, and August.
Argent is believed to have pushed Artursson when an argument 'turned nasty', with the model reportedly tumbling down two steps and her shouts alerting neighbours who called the police.
The Swedish influencer, who had dated Argent for nine months, reportedly needed hospital treatment, although the extent of her injuries is not known.
Argent was arrested shortly after the incident on May 5 and kept in a cell for several hours.
He admitted a domestic violence charge when he was brought before a judge at Fuengirola's Court of Violence Against Women. He was also told to complete a 'resocialisation course in the field of gender violence'.
Sources have claimed Artursson was "in total shock" following the incident, having believed the couple were moving towards starting a family.
Speaking out after the incident, Argent said he is still sober and 'devastated' by the events.
'I haven't relapsed. I am still three years and four months clean and sober. I am devastated by what's happened,' he told MailOnline.
A friend previously told The Sun that Argent is 'extremely sorry', adding: 'He said he had a row with Nicoline and that he tried to end the argument. James said he pushed Nicoline and that she fell.
'He is remorseful about what happened but is insisting he never meant any harm.'
Argent confirmed his relationship with Artursson last September, with the pair taking part in an OK! magazine joint interview a month later.
They revealed they met outside a supermarket in Marbella and were now living together at Argent's home in Essex and looking to start a family.

Justin Bieber Says "If I Have to Do Something to Be Loved, That's Not Love" in Statement

Justin Bieber has been dropping a lot of cryptic Instagram posts, and seems to be dealing with an unnamed person in his life who wants their relationship to be transactional. "Tired of transactional relationships," he wrote in one post. "If I have to do something to be loved. That's not love." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) This comes several days after a post he wrote on June 3, reading "'LOYALTY' is manipulative language. Loyalty is duty, it's an obligation. THATS NOT FREE WILL. Love is NOT a duty. LOVE IS A DELIGHT. Please stop using loyalty to keep people around you out of your own fear its hurting us. Mafia members use loyalty to keep people in their gangs. Lets not perpetuate this manipulative language. LOVE OVER LOYALTY FOREVER." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Justin Bieber (@justinbieber) While Justin hasn't clarified who his posts are about, there's inevitably been speculation about his relationship with Hailey Bieber. Meanwhile, The Sun reports that the pair are dealing with tension due to Justin being "jealous" and "obsessed with being the dominant figure in their relationship." The source—a "friend and confidant"—that that Hailey's recent success "feels like a blow to his ego" and that "he cannot stand the idea of being the 'number two' in their relationship now." Neither Justin nor Hailey have commented on the state of their relationship at this point, so all of this source intel should be taken with a grain of salt—and for what it's worth, she's been liking some of his recent posts. Ukraine's F-16 Took Down Russian Fighter Jet in 'Historic First': Report

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. An F-16 fighter jet given to Ukraine reportedly shot down an advanced Russian plane thanks to the assistance of a Swedish reconnaissance aircraft. German newspaper Bild said the Russian Sukhoi Su-35 jet had been downed in the northeast of the country in an operation it described as a "historic first." Earlier, Ukraine's Air Force had said Saturday it had downed a Su-35 in Russia's Kursk Oblast, although it gave no further details. The details of the incident reported by Bild and Ukrainian social media users have not been independently verified. Newsweek reached out to the Russian and Ukrainian defense ministries for comment. ROBINWhy It Matters The fourth-generation F-16s arrived in Ukraine to much fanfare after the Biden administration finally allowed Kyiv's allies to provide them in a move that was hoped to change the battlefield calculus. If confirmed, the operation in which an F-16 worked with a Swedish reconnaissance plane to down a Russian fighter would highlight a new level in Ukraine's aviation capabilities. What To Know During a fight on Saturday in the northeastern Sumy region, Ukraine's Air Force used its fighter jets to bomb Russian positions inside the country and in Russia's nearby Kursk region, Bild reported. The outlet said Russia sent a high-tech Sukhoi Su-35 "air superiority fighter" into battle to down the Ukrainian fighter jets, but the Russian pilot "flew into an ambush." Ukraine had deployed a Swedish Saab 340 AEW&C (Early Warning and Control) reconnaissance aircraft, which had been discreetly tracking the Russian jet from hundreds of miles away. The location of yesterday's shoot down of a Russian Su-35 by a Ukrainian F-16 was fairly deep into Russian territory. We must credit the skill and bravery here. — Kyiv Insider (@KyivInsider) June 8, 2025 When it was close enough, the Ukrainian F-16 pilot used the necessary data to fire an AIM-120 missile at the Su-35, a 4.5 generation jet nicknamed the "Super Flanker." The Russian plane crashed about 10 miles inside Russia, near the city of Korenevo in the Kursk Oblast. However, the pilot ejected to safety, according to Bild and the Ukrainian Telegram channel Stugna. The Oryx website, which tracks equipment losses in the war, posted a still image dated Saturday of the destroyed Su-35, the first loss of such an aircraft since February 2. As of Monday, Russia had lost eight of the aircraft, according to Oryx. What People Are Saying Military analyst Jake Broe, on X (formerly Twitter): "Russia lost another Su-35. Theory is that Ukraine now has operational their Swedish SAAB AEW&C planes with their F-16 fleet. This capability took years to fight for and obtain for Ukraine. Bravo everyone!" Kyiv Insider, on X: "The location of yesterday's shoot down of a Russian Su-35 by a Ukrainian F-16 was fairly deep into Russian territory. We must credit the skill and bravery here." Former Ukrainian Internal Affairs adviser Anton Gerashchenko, on X: "It is reported that for the first time in history, an F-16 has shot down a Russian Su-35 ' to Ukrainian Allies for providing us with the tools!" The Ukraine Fights Telegram channel: "This is a historic moment, but now we have to camouflage the SAAB as carefully as possible." What Happens Next Experts have hailed the incident as a breakthrough in Ukrainian air capabilities, and pro-Ukrainian voices on social media have praised the possibilities that Kyiv can neutralize Russian aviation and missile systems.

Wild video shows mystery figure being chased on major airport runway — steps from moving planes

Wild video shows a mystery figure being chased across the tarmac of one of the world's busiest airports — just feet from moving aircraft. The unknown individual had something wrapped around his waist as he was filmed running across a taxiway at London's Heathrow Airport on Sunday with at least four staffers giving chase. The chase is right in front of where one jet is being backed up — and another lands at high speed close behind them. 3 Wild video shows a mystery figure being chased across the tarmac of one of the world's busiest airports. Why would there be people running across the … what's this all about?' the person filming the footage says, gasping that it is 'not right.' 'They are chasing him. What are you doing, mate? Get on the floor, son. Give yourself up,' the person filming says. The mystery figure managed to escape capture for over a minute, before he was caught up by a van carrying two people in fluorescent tops. He was then escorted away and pinned to the ground by security at the British transport hub, but not before the cameraman bemoaned the apparent lack of urgency from the authorities. 'Isn't there anyone fit enough to take him down?' asks the man filming. 'They're gonna have to stop the operations, man. They're gonna have to stop aircraft moving.' Police were later seen racing across the airport, close to Terminal 2, and arriving at the scene. 3 The mystery figure managed to escape capture for over a minute, before he was caught up by a van carrying two people in fluorescent tops. 'The individual has been removed from the airport. The airport continues to operate as normal and passengers are traveling as planned.' It was not immediately clear why he was running nor how he got there.
