Lady Gaga Matches Harry Styles With Another Week At No. 1

Their duet 'Die With a Smile' has already been a major win on the charts for months, and it is still hugely popular, living a much longer life on the weekly rankings than most pop tunes could ever hope for. The song is back at No. 1 on both of Billboard's global charts, and while that in itself has been a familiar story all year, this is still a special frame for the cut.
'Die With a Smile' sits steady at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, the ranking of the most-consumed songs across the globe. That list blends streaming and sales data from nearly every territory, and it is widely regarded as the most comprehensive look at what the world is listening to each week.
The track has now led the charge for 15 weeks – a historically long period of time. The Billboard Global 200 was introduced less than five years ago, and in that time, only a trio of songs have managed such a lengthy stay at No. 1.
With 15 weeks spent at No. 1, 'Die With a Smile' is now tied as the second longest-running leader in the ranking's history, and the non-holiday tune with the most frames in charge. Gaga and Mars match the impressive run of Harry Styles's 'As It Was,' which also controlled the Billboard Global 200 for 15 frames in 2022.
The only song that has managed a longer reign on the Billboard Global 200 is 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.' Mariah Carey's modern holiday classic has racked up 19 weeks at No. 1, though that total comes with a small asterisk.
Unlike 'Die With a Smile,' Carey's festive anthem hasn't held onto the top spot in one general run – though Gaga and Mars have risen and fallen from the summit on more than one occasion. Instead, it returns to No. 1 every December, adding to its cumulative total year after year.
At the same time that 'Die With a Smile' is dominating the Billboard Global 200, it's also back at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. That list tracks the most-consumed songs around the world, excluding American data, using the same blend of streaming and sales figures.
This week, the track reverses course on that chart, trading places with another Mars hit, his collaboration with Rosé of Blackpink. As it climbs back into first, 'Die With a Smile' earns its twelfth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The cut is already the fifth longest-running leader on that ranking, and if it can hold on for just one more week, it will tie two other smashes – Styles's 'As It Was' and Miley Cyrus's 'Flowers' — as the third longest-running leader in the roster's history.

Human-sized Labubu doll sells for more than $150,000
A human-sized Labubu doll was sold this week for a record 1.08m yuan ($150,324; £110,465), according to a Chinese auction house. The 131cm (4ft 4in) figurine was sold at the Yongle International Auction in Beijing. The auctioneer said it is now the most expensive toy of its kind in the world. The soft toys became a viral TikTok trend after being worn by other celebrities like Rihanna and Dua Lipa. Former England football captain David Beckham also posted a photo on Instagram of a Labubu attached to his bag. Earlier this year, Pop Mart pulled the dolls from all UK stores following reports of customers fighting over them. The Chinese retailer often sells the collectable toys in mystery "blind boxes". These items are popular with customers who only find out the design of the figurine once they have opened the packaging.

Ananda Lewis, Influential MTV Host, Dies at 52
Ananda Lewis, who had a celebrated run on MTV as a veejay and as the host of shows including Total Request Live and Hot Zone, has died at age 52. News of Lewis' death was confirmed in a Facebook post by her sister, Lakshmi Emory. In 2020, Lewis revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, saying that she had long avoided mammograms and urged early testing.
