Ozzy Osbourne Dies at 76
Heavy metal legendOzzy Osbournehas died at age 76. The Birmingham, England-born Black Sabbath frontman was battling a years-long diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.
'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,' Osbourne's family shared in an Instagram post.
'We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,' signed from his wife and kids Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.
Osbourne – also known as the Prince of Darkness – was diagnosed with Parkinson's back in 2019 and has been vocal about his struggles ever since. Just a few weeks back, he took the stage for his final show in his hometown of Birmingham; at the festival, he brought Black Sabbath bandmates Ton Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward on stage for the band's first performance together in 20 years.
A true pioneer in heavy metal, Osbourne co-founded the group that would becomeBlack Sabbathin 1968 alongside guitarist Iommi, bassist Butler, and drummer Ward. The group released its long-form self-titled debut in 1970, laying the groundwork for many hard rock acts to follow.
Fired from Black Sabbath in April of 1979, Osbourne locked in on his solo career, and signed on Sharon Arden – who would soon become Sharon Osbourne – as his manager (and wife). The pair launched theOzzfestfestival in 1996 to spotlight upcoming heavy metal talent.
Shortly thereafter, the singer-songwriter/guitarist once again expanded his scope to include television, starring in theMTVreality showThe Osbournes, rooted in the rawness of the family's real life, and turning the whole Osbourne family into what felt like all of ours – A sentiment that would seep through the rest of Osbourne's life as both his solo and Black Sabbath songs continued to do numbers even after he stopped releasing new music.

Where celebrities eat in Toronto: 12 restaurants visited by stars from Blackpink to Coldplay
From fine dining to street food, Toronto's diverse culinary scene has made it a top destination for food lovers. But where do celebrities eat when they're in town? Here's a look at where musicians, actors and celebrity chefs have dined during recent visits to Toronto. A post shared by 달동네 Daldongnae BBQ (@daldongnae) Following the second Blackpink show at Rogers Stadium, at least one member of the K-pop girl group — Jennie — dropped by Daldongnae, a popular Korean BBQ spot in North York. 'BLACKPINK in our area… again!' the restaurant wrote in an Instagram post, which noted that this was the second time Jennie has visited one of the restaurant's locations. 'We're honoured and so thankful.' On social media, fans also say that two members of Blackpink were spotted leaving Huh Ga Ne, a 24-hour Korean eatery in North York. The Star was unable to confirm with the restaurant, but fans circulated videos and photos of two women who they believe were singers Rosé and Lisa, leaving the location on Finch Ave. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin performs at Toronto's new Rogers Stadium. Midway through their four-night residency at the recently inaugurated Rogers Stadium this July, three of the four members of Coldplay dined at the Michelin-starred Osteria Giulia in Yorkville , as first reported by Star contributing columnist Shinan Govani. Frontman Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland and drummer Will Champion — who has dined at Giulia in the past — were among the party of 10 that stayed late and closed the restaurant down on July 9, owner David Minicucci told the Star. 'They were wonderful and exemplary guests,' Minicucci said, adding that the group ordered pasta, grilled fish and seafood. 'They kept it very clean and light.' 'They ordered well and were great to have in the room,' he added. 'And Chris Martin was very engaging with our team.' A post shared by Daniele Corona | Chef ⭐️ (@danielecoronareal) While the rest of his band was at Osteria Giulia, Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman zipped over to DaNico , an Italian fine-dining spot on College Street that has earned a Michelin star for its refined tasting menus. 'I came to your show yesterday and it was absolutely incredible,' chef Daniele Corona wrote on Instagram . 'And today I found you at DaNico ... honoured by your presence.' American actor and director Jesse Eisenberg, whose 2024 film ' A Real Pain ' was nominated for best original screenplay at the 97th Academy Awards, stopped by Curryish Tavern earlier this month with his wife, daughter and a friend who lives in Toronto. Miheer Shete, who owns the Queen West Indian restaurant, told BlogTO that he received a call from the concierge at the Eisenberg's hotel, and was told that the actor and his group was in the mood for 'an Indian feast.' Shete told the Star while Curryish has hosted actors and comedians in the past, Eisenberg is the most famous celebrity to dine at his restaurant. He said the actor's party ordered samosa, asparagus salad, coconut stuffed branzino, green tomato butter chicken, stuffed paneer with roasted pepper korma and more. A post shared by Zezafoun Syrian Cuisine (@zezafounsyriancuisine) Elyanna — the Palestinian-Chilean pop singer who opened for Coldplay during their stint at Rogers Stadium — brought her band and a group of friends to Zezafoun Syrian Cuisine, a cosy, family-run restaurant in Davisville Village. 'Your sweet spirit lit up the place, and we truly loved having you,' the restaurant posted on Instagram. A post shared by Jeff Regular (@paitoronto) This spring, legendary hip hop drummer, producer and DJ Questlove dropped by Kiin , a high-end Thai restaurant in the entertainment district, after his band The Roots played at Rebel. According to Jeff Regular, who owns Kiin alongside his wife, Nuit Regular , told the Star that Questlove ordered the restaurant's latest tasting menu, and that he liked the wagyu and lamb courses in particular. 'That was huge,' Regular said. 'Sadly, I was in Japan at the time, but I was freaking out.' A post shared by Harlem Restaurant (@harlemrestaurant) Known for its Afro-Caribbean and soul food — it helped popularize fried chicken and waffles in Toronto, Star food reporter Karon Liu recently noted — and for hosting live music, Harlem Restaurant on Queen West re-opened its doors this spring after a closure that lasted nearly six years. Within days of reopening in May, the restaurant hosted a birthday party for Toronto hip hop mogul Kardinall Offishall, which was attended by American stand-up comic and actor Dave Chappelle. A post shared by Jeff Regular (@paitoronto) Forget potatoes , the Hobbits are into Thai food, now! Dom Monaghan (the actor who plays Merry Brandybuck in the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy) has long declared PAI — a northern Thai food fixture with locations in downtown and uptown — as his favourite restaurant in the city. So when his buddy Elijah Wood (the actor who plays Frodo Baggins) was in town in May, he urged him to check it out. Woods was 'very gracious,' said owner Jeff Regular. The actor ordered extensively off the menu, but his favourite dish was miang kung : a platter of fresh ingredients (shrimp, ginger, shallots, roasted coconut, etc.) that customers wrap in fresh betel leaf. A post shared by @pearlyorkville Iconic businesswoman and lifestyle personality Martha Stewart was in town in February to film a television series, when she dropped by Pearl, an authentic Chinese restaurant in Yorkville that serves traditional Cantonese food and dim sum. According to BlogTO , Stewart ordered Peking duck, stir-fried long beans with black bean sauce, pan-fried hockey pucks, spinach and shrimp dumplings, and soup dumplings. A post shared by José Andrés (@chefjoseandres) Spanish-American celebrity chef and restaurateur José Andrés was also in town in February to shoot a television series, and among the spots he dined was Fisherman Lobster Club, the Scarborough seafood restaurant known for its gigantic platters of lobster and crab. The Jonas Brothers pose for a picture with Adrak Yorkville co-founder Ambica Jain. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas made an unexpected visit to Adrak — a Michelin-recommended restaurant in Yorkville serving modern Indian cuisine — last January. 'All of the brothers said the food was amazing and that they really liked the Chai biscuit dessert a lot,' a representative for the restaurant told the Star. 'They were extremely friendly, kind and appreciative. No star-power attitude, and very humble.' Other high-profile stars who have dined at Adrak since it opened include Jessica Alba, Oscar Issac, Daniel Boulud and Karan Aujla. Chubby's, the vibrant Jamaican spot on Portland, has long been a magnet for celebrities (Sean Paul, Anthony Mackie) and athletes (Scottie Barnes, Penny Oleksiak, Brandon Ingram). Last November, Jamaican dancehall legend Buju Banton dropped by for a meal, and snapped a photo with general manager Daniela Chinchilla.

Cat mom accuses Blue Angels of terrorizing her dying 14-year-old cat with ‘sonic barrage' practices: ‘It terrified her so much'
A Seattle cat mom accused the US Navy's Blue Angels of robbing her elderly cat of a peaceful death after their annual practices for a summer fair flyover caused a frequent 'sonic barrage' that would terrify the feline she loved like 'a daughter,' according to a lawsuit. Lauren Ann Lombardi's 14-year-old cat Layla died on Aug. 11, 2024 following a battle with heart disease that was only worsened by the Blue Angels' frequent overhead flying, she alleged in a federal civil complaint filed this week. 5 Lauren Lombardi sued the Blue Angels, alleging it violated her First Amendment right by blocking her on Instagram after she complained the crew's flyovers were terrorizing her cat Layla. Ever Loved 'I just wanted to share what happened to her. I wanted people to know, and I wanted there to be some sort of accountability for that. That's the main thing I wanted to get across was Layla's story,' Lombardi told The Post. The lawsuit hinges on the Blue Angels' alleged blockage of her Instagram account, which she claims violated her First Amendment rights. Every year, the Blue Angels participate in the Boeing Seafair Air Show in Seattle during the summer Seafair Festival. The flight squadron practices and performs over Lake Washington, which is just a few miles away from Lombardi's home. The noise from the flyovers would last for several minutes up to three times a day, she said. 'It's like what I imagine being in a war zone sounds like. It's very terrifying, it actually shook our house when they would go by,' Lombardi said. The cat mom lobbed her first tirade at the air squad in August 2023, her first summer living in the area after moving from the East Coast. 5 Layla, Lombardi's 14-year-old cat, passed away in August 2024. U.S. District Court Western District Of Washington At Seattle 'Stop with your F—king bulls–t you are terrorizing my cat and all the other animals and wildlife. Nobody gives a f–k about your stupid little planes,' Lombardi wrote to the squadron via Instagram. By then, the show had already started. The Blue Angels' Instagram account allegedly blocked Lombardi shortly after. She tried to reach out to call them 'cowards' in a direct message two days later, but it was apparently never delivered 'due to the blocking,' according to the lawsuit. 5 The Blue Angels perform every year at the Boeing Seafair Air Show in Seattle. AP 'I wasn't even expecting to get a response, I was just really angry. I know my messages weren't very nice, but I was just overcome with rage because it terrified her so much,' Lombardi said of Layla. 'The Blue Angels are really cool. Obviously, it's really impressive, but the harm is real greater than the good, and I just want people to know so they can form their own opinions. By them blocking me, it prevented me from being able to communicate that to people who otherwise wouldn't know how harmful it is.' Lombardi claimed that the squad's 'sonic barrage' sent an already-feeble Layla with mere weeks left to live into a panic again the following year. To try and calm her frail feline, Lombardi barricaded all points of sound entry in the house and even used her hands to block the elderly cat's ears. 5 Lombardi said she treated Layla like her own 'daughter.' U.S. District Court Western District Of Washington At Seattle The dedicated cat mom was 'traumatized' by Layla's tragic passing and retired early to ensure her honorary 'daughter' was comfortable during her final months, she said. 'She was everything to me. Pet doesn't even sound right to me, I refer to her as my daughter,' she said. A week after the 2024 fair, Layla was humanely euthanized. She spent the bulk of her final days hiding under furniture around the house, according to the complaint. Lombardi noted that she 'respects and supports' the US military, but still asserted that her feline's sundowning was 'pockmarked by debilitating terror brought on by the actions of the United States Government,' according to the complaint. She doesn't blame the armed forces for Layla's death — though the lawsuit is riddled with complaints about the cat's torment. Instead, she's looking for the Blue Angels to unblock her Instagram account and repay her expenses, including 'reasonable attorneys' fees,' according to the complaint. 5 The Blue Angels are a flight demonstration squadron for the US Navy. AP The lawsuit itself was penned by attorney Nacim Bouchtia, Lombardi's husband and Layla's human father, according to the cat's obituary. Lombardi also seeks to require a refresher course for the Blue Angels on the 'fundamental importance of the First Amendment which the brave men and women of the U.S. Navy are sworn to protect,' according to the complaint. Her two new cat children, Ozzy and Ziggy, named after the late rockstars Ozzy Osbourne and David Bowie, will be experiencing the Blue Angels' practice for the first time in just a few days. In Lombardi's ideal world, the air show would be nixed and replaced with something like a laser light show, but she acknowledged that eliminating the seven-decade tradition would be unrealistic. The Post reached out to the United States Navy for comment. A representative for the Blue Angels could not be reached directly.
