Four suspects charged after kidnapping and robbery

Four males have been arrested after kidnapping a London man.
The 20-year-old victim was at a gathering in an apartment in the 500 block of Richmond Street on July 13, when a group of individuals confronted him at approximately 2:30 a.m.
After interacting until approximately 6 a.m., the group forced the man out of the apartment. One armed suspect uttered threats and assaulted the victim before he was transported in a vehicle throughout the city.
After the suspects stole property from multiple locations and banking institutions, they released the victim at approximately 7 a.m. He sustained minor injuries.
The four suspects, all in their early 20s, were charged with kidnapping, extortion, armed robbery, pointing a firearm and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
They are expected to appear in court on Friday.

As a result of the incident, the man was charged with two impaired driving offences – including operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80. In addition to the charges, under provincial legislation, the motorist also received 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle used to get him to the beach was impounded for seven days at the owner's expense. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 11. Police warn against impaired driving In a news release over the weekend, OPP reiterated warnings about the dangers of impaired driving. 'OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive,' police said, adding that impaired driving should be reported to authorities. Social Sharing Police say a 22-year-old man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a stabbing on a bus in Vancouver early Sunday. A statement from Vancouver Police says a 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault in connection to the stabbing. Police say officers responded shortly before 3 a.m. to reports that someone had been stabbed on a bus near the Burrard Street Bridge. It came in the middle of a busy festival weekend in Vancouver, with the Vancouver Folk Music Festival and Honda Festival of Lights fireworks that drew thousands of extra people to Vancouver's west side and the downtown core — two parts of the city the Burrard Street Bridge connects. Officers say they arrived to find a seriously injured 22-year-old victim, who was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect was arrested near Burrard Street and Cornwall Avenue. Police said he remains in custody, charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession for a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The incident happened at a commercial plaza at 126 Wellington St. W., just west of Yonge Street. York Regional Police said they were called to that area just before 7:30 p.m. and located a male victim. His was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, they added. The suspect fled the scene the scene. Officers, however, 'responded quickly' and were able to make an arrest, they said. No other suspects are being sought in connection with this incident. Police added that there is no longer any immediate threat to the public. People should still expect a police presence in area as the investigation continues, they said.
