PSL transfer news: Mbesuma, Mbule, Mofokeng, Moremi, Rulani

Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs are preparing for the transfer window to open in the coming weeks.
The Betway Premiership might have ended but expect more player movement from now until mid-September. While champions Mamelodi Sundowns are preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will look to capitalise and bring in top players to challenge for top honours.
Last year, Amakhosi was the busiest PSL team in the transfer window, bringing in seven players before adding three more in the January period. Under Nasreddine Nabi, the Soweto giants won the Nedbank Cup but failed to improve in the league.
Collins Mbesuma, who played for Amakhosi in the mid-2000s, has offered his services to his former club.
'A PSL club? Of course, Khosi for Life. At my peak, I could be solving their current goal-scoring crisis. I'm a striker's coach, you know, so I'm available to help any team,' Mbesuma told KickOff .
The midfielder was been linked with Amakhosi for several weeks, having reportedly parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns. His agent, Mike Makaab revealed he offered the ex-Richards Bay midfielder to Amakhosi
'Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs,' the agent admitted on X.
'It is up to the club to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.'
Another player on the move is AmaZulu winger Tshepang Moremi. According to Soccer Laduma , the Buccaneers had secured a three-year deal with the KwaZulu-Natal-based talent.
'We can say that this Orlando Pirates and Moremi deal is as good as done,' an insider told Soccer Laduma . Yes, it's believed that Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs were also interested in him, but Pirates have won this race. It's as good as done at the moment,' the insider added.
Another coach who could rejoin Orlando Pirates is Rulani Mokwena. With Jose Riveiro with Al Ahly, Mokwena is amongst the favourites to take over from the Spaniard. The 37-year-old has a short, unsuccessful stint with Tunisian giants Wydad Casablanca.
Orlando Pirates will be the PSL team to watch this transfer period, having already released several players. One top player set to leave for Europe is Relebohile Mofokeng.

The Buccaneers lost away to Marumo Gallants in a Betway Premiership clash in Bloemfontein, while the Brazilians eased past AmaZulu at home in Pretoria, beating them 2-0. Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is looking forward to this clash between the 'bigest' clubs in Africa. 'It's a very exciting moment for not only the players, but for the fans as well. A clash of the two biggest teams not only in South Africa, but on the continent as a whole. We're excited and happy to play the game on Saturday and we hope to give a good show to all the supporters in South Africa,' Ouaddou told reporters during an MTN8 media conference at the PSL offices in Parktown on Thursday. Pressure mounts for Ouaddou Having suffered back-to-back defeats against Sekhukhune United and Gallants, going into the clash against Sundowns, Ouaddou admitted that he was under pressure to turn the club's fortunes around. 'There's always pressure when you train (coach) such a big club. Pressure is everywhere, but we have to transform that pressure and make it a positive pressure and we must give our best for our fans. We have to try to bring back the victories and the happiness,' said the Moroccan. Pirates might be struggling in recent matches going into the clash against Sundowns at the Orlando Stadium, but recent cup matches between the sides suggest that the Buccaneers have a slight advantage over their rivals. Cardoso 'living' for the present Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso, however, is not reading much into past matches between the sides, saying he is focusing on the future. 'I never look at the past, I live for the present in order to write for the future. I was not even here in South Africa when those cup matches were played between the teams,' said Cardoso. Orlando Pirates to be without THREE key players for Sundowns clash

Orlando Pirates will be without at least three key players when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend in the MTN8 semi-final. The Buccaneers host Masandawana in the first leg of the semi-final at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The two giants met in the final of the 2023 MTN8 and the Sea Robbers won the match on penalties. On Saturday, Orlando Pirates will have to beat Sundowns without the likes of Nkosinathi Sibisi and Makhehleni Makhaula. The club head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou confirmed that three experienced players will not involved in Saturday's anticipated clash. 'Most of the players are available, we only have [Nkosinathi] Sibisi, [Makhehleni] Makhaula, who is still coming back from his injury,' he said as per iDiski Times. 'We still have [Olisa] Ndah out but most of the players are still available.' The Buccaneers have started the season on a backfoot following back-to-back league defeats. Their form in the MTN8 has been impressive having won the competition four times in the past five years. Against Downs, they should have an advantage given the fact that they are playing the first leg at home. Their opponents appear to found their groove with their mid-week win and will look to claim another victory at the Orlando Stadium. Orlando Pirates desperately need to beat Sundowns to get their season on track. A draw will be a decent result given their form but defeat could put more pressure on Ouaddou.
