Clarkson's Farm star Lisa Hogan issues worrying update amid 'devastating' news
Fans have been given a fresh update on Clarkson's farm, after Jeremy Clarkson's partner Lisa Hogan revealed there's been yet another health scare. It comes after a recent bovine tuberculosis (TB) outbreak.
Lisa took to Instagram posting clips of lambs penned behind fencing whilst two people gave treatment to the livestock, as reported by the Express. She explained: "Vaccinating the lambs against blue tongue, which is spread by midges. It's relentless at the moment."
Fans quickly flooded Lisa with messages, showing sympathy for the farm's struggles in the comments section as they shared their encouragement.
One person wrote: "God, farming is literally one of the toughest gigs around. Hope you are all doing well." Another commented: "My grandfather was a sheep farmer. 3000 head of prize grade Merino. It's a tough gig and you guys do the best job with all of your animals."
Lisa's post comes just two weeks after it emerged that one of the farm's cattle tested positive for bovine TB. Jeremy revealed last month that his Cotswolds venture had been hit by a tuberculosis (TB) outbreak.
The former Top Gear host posted on Twitter: "Bad news from Diddly Squat. We've gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated."
He revealed that one of the animals had contracted the potentially fatal bacterial infection and was expecting twins. Days afterwards, Jeremy explained how dealing with the outbreak had been "bloody awful".
He explained: "The disruption's enormous, because you aren't allowed to operate as a business. You have to isolate them for two months.
"So all the barns we needed to store the grain in, we now have to convert into a cow hospital. We've got another calf with pneumonia, so that needs to be housed. And we can't buy or sell a cow now because the farm officially, you know, has TB."
The show follows his adventures as a broadcaster-turned-farmer on Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton.
However, life on the farm isn't always easy, as he recently disclosed that several things have "gone wrong" in the past few months. Hours after he told fans on social media the contagious disease has been detected on his Oxfordshire estate, he suffered the shock death of one of his young puppies.
Bovine Tuberculosis (bTB) bTB is an infectious disease which is caused by bacterium Mycobacterium bovis, related to the bacterium that causes human and avian tuberculosis.
It's a respiratory disease that can be transmitted "through nose to nose contact and also through contact with saliva, urine, faeces and milk" and it has deadly consequences for cattle herds.
The presenter went on to reveal that the farm will be shut for two months as staff wait for further tests to be carried out on his cattle, as he spoke out about the "awful" death of his puppy.
