Dakota Johnson reveals Pedro Pascal told her to start an OnlyFans, internet is conflicted: 'Who says that to a woman'
Pedro Pascal is generating a lot of buzz during his appearance at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. The actor generated thousands of tweets just by baring his arms on the red carpet the other day. However, the new reason for which he is in the news isn't as generous. In a recent interview, his Materialists co-star Dakota Johnson said that Pedro told her to start an OnlyFans account, something that has left fans divided over the joke. In an interview with Elle UK, Dakota said, "Pedro Pascal told me to start an OnlyFans...that I could just wiggle my toe and make money. Should I do that?" OnlyFans is a subscription-based service where creators can make accounts and invite subscribers to watch their content for a fee. While it was never explicitly made for adult content, OnlyFans has been dominated by adult performers and fetish models as a platform for their content. To be fair, while Pedro did not ask Dakota to make any sexual content and the whole 'advice' was a joke, it still got the internet riled up.
The news was shared on social media on Monday, with Twitter (now X) abuzz with polarising reactions to the joke. One Twitter user wrote, "Who says that to a woman?" Another added his disapproval of the beloved star, "I always knew this guy was a f***ing weirdo." Many defended Pedro's joke and slammed the internet's over-reaction. "why tf are ppl getting so pissed in the comments? It's just a joke lol," read one comment. However, others added that being a joke does not excuse the comment. "That's weird and not funny," read one tweet.
Many Pedro fans, however, added that much of the reporting of the joke was done without context, making the actor look needlessly bad. "This is gonna make him look bad- he probably wasn't saying sexual content," argued one. "It's funny how his sense of humour sparks things that don't mean anything," added another.
Pedro Pascal and Dakota Johnson will be seen together, alongside Chris Evans, in the upcoming romantic comedy Materialists. The Celine Song-directorial is scheduled to be released on June 13, 2025.

Movie Review: Can a rom-com be honest about money? Celine Song's smart ‘Materialists' gives it a go
The problem with so many rom-coms — one of the problems, anyway — is how often we're asked to conveniently dismiss our knowledge of life's realities. Particularly economic ones. How does this person live in a spacious, light-filled apartment when they have a beginner's salary, for instance? How can they buy chic designer clothes, or afford those long taxi rides? Still, it's understandable how one can watch the trailer for 'Materialists,' with the starry trio of Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans, and feel a little concerned. Especially if you loved 'Past Lives,' her stunning debut film that explored not only love and longing but the very idea that our romantic choices, right or wrong, bring lifelong consequences. Compared to that soulful film, 'Materialists' looks suspiciously like it could be glossy, superficial and … OK, loads of fun! But perhaps a bit more Bridget Jones than Celine Song. Let's look at the similarities, though. Again, Song is writing about a triangle of a woman and two men, each deserving of our empathy and understanding . And Song, who based 'Past Lives' on an experience she had when contacted by a former love, is again writing what she knows. For six months in New York, while a struggling playwright, she worked for a matchmaking firm. As does Johnson's Lucy, who's good at what she does. Passing a good-looking guy, she stops: 'Hey, are you single?' She offers her card. That man will become a client, and his demands are chilling: at 48, he's ready for a slightly older woman than usual. No, not in her 30s. Even 27 is pushing it. Another man gives the maximum BMI his partner can be. Men are usually the villains here, but women aren't immune to being superficial jerks, either. But Lucy has somehow beaten the odds. Early in the film, she's being feted at the offices of Adore, the firm she works for: Charlotte and Peter are getting married, and it's the NINTH wedding of Lucy's making! Still, there's one woman whose prospects Lucy despairs of. Sophie reports having a wonderful time on her date. Lucy, delighted, calls the man, who did not. 'She's 40 and fat,' he says. Lucy promises Sophie that she will soon find and marry the love of her life. But privately to her colleague, she admits there may not be a guy who 'just wants a nice girl.' At Charlotte's wedding, Harry , the groom's handsome brother, notices Lucy and starts to flirt. Turns out, he's everything a woman could want: Rich, successful, nice, the right height. To Lucy, he's a 'unicorn' — and an ideal client. Then the cute waiter drops off her favorite drink combo before she can ask: a beer and a Coke. It's John, a former boyfriend. He looks like … well, like Chris Evans. He's scruffy and adorable, but he's a cater waiter and struggling actor. The two had split up years ago, we learn, over money — meaning, his lack thereof. Money, Song points out repeatedly here, is not merely a sideline issue; It's a driving force in relationships, even good, honest ones. Anyone who's ever fought bitterly over money with a loved one can understand this. Many movies seem to think we don't. And so our triangular love story progresses over tricky terrain. . Harry doesn't want to be Lucy's client, he wants HER. 'The math doesn't add up,' she protests. "I'm the kind of girl you go home with once and never call again.' But Lucy lets herself be wooed — how can she resist a $12 million Tribeca duplex? With those expertly sliced radishes at breakfast? Still, Lucy can't erase John from her mind — mid-30s John who lives in a cramped apartment with roommates who swipe his charger and leave dirty condoms on the floor A life Lucy thought she had left. Then there's Sophie. The sharpest scene in the film is a devastating confrontation between Lucy and her trusting client. On a date, something terrible has happened. Is it Lucy's fault that some people are bad humans? No, but it shines a light on a sordid part of the dating world. And it shakes Lucy to the core. Obviously there's a final act here. How Song resolves this particular triangle is certainly different from the resolution in 'Past Lives,' where an Uber car arrived to separate two people we ached to see together, somehow. In 'Materialists,' I confess I found myself wondering if, in the end, Lucy would really make the choice she does — or even if we're supposed to believe it's a final choice. But that doesn't mean the experience rings hollow. A smart rom-com that tries to be honest about life and still leave us smiling — that math seems to add up just fine. 'Materialists,' an A24 release, has been rated R by the Motion Pictire Association 'for language and brief sexual material." Running time: 116 minutes. Two and a half stars out of four.

Pedro Pascal Has Wild Reaction to Dakota Johnson Getting Injured on Sets of Fifty Shades of Grey: ‘I Got Whiplash…'
Pedro Pascal and Dakota Johnson have a brilliant chemistry together, and it is quite evident in the trailer of Materialists. Ahead of the movie's release, the co-stars got together for a fun rapid fire with Vogue, where they hilariously recalled getting hurt on the sets of their previous movies. While answering the question, Pascal randomly went on to list the injuries, but the Madame Web star recalling the incident and saying it out loud was the highlight of the interview. Pedro Pascal's hilarious reaction to Dakota Johnson's injury During the fun segment with the media portal, Johnson went on to ask Pascal, 'Have you ever had an accident while filming?" In response, the actor replied that he had gotten hurt for real, and just as he was about to list down the things, the actress interrupted to say that she had been hurt too. The movie star revealed, 'I got whiplash from Fifty Shades of Grey.' Johnson's response got Pascal to laugh uncontrollably, while the actress, too, giggled, knowing that she had won the round with just that response. The Gladiator II star went on to say, 'This is my favorite thing.' Meanwhile, Dakota Johnson portrayed the role of Anastasia in the three-part movie series. The actress got hurt after being thrown off the bed a few times to get the scene correct. As for her upcoming movie, the actress is cast alongside Pascal and Chris Evans. The trio has been entertaining their fans in every interview that they have been together in for the promotions of Materialists. In the previous appearance with the Captain America star on the red carpet of an event, the duo engaged in a fun banter, as they were caught kissing Pascal's cutout. Materialists hit theaters on June 13.

Has Kanye West changed his name to Ye Ye? Here's what we know
Music mogul and fashion entrepreneur Kanye West appears to be embracing yet another evolution of his identity. The rapper, who legally shortened his name to Ye in 2018, has now been referred to as Ye Ye in several official business documents filed in the state of California. (Also read: Kanye West rants as hackers leak his 'pro-Hitler' album, donate proceeds to Holocaust Museum: 'Proves everything I say'). According to documents obtained by E! News, on June 10, the name "Ye Ye" is listed in filings related to West's ventures, including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label, and Ox Paha Inc. His Chief Financial Officer, Hussain Lalani, used the updated name when identifying West as a key figure in the companies, naming him as a "manager or member," as per E! News. As of now, it remains unclear whether the 48-year-old artist has initiated a formal legal name change to Ye Ye. In California, such a change would require publishing a legal notice in a local newspaper before a judge considers the petition. No such public filing has yet been reported, as per E! News. West's interest in name changes is rooted in deeper personal and spiritual meaning. When he changed his name to Ye in 2018, he explained the decision by referencing religious texts, and said, "In the Bible, it means 'you.' So, I'm you, I'm us, it's us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye, just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confusion, everything," as quoted by E! News. The name Ye was also the title of his eighth studio album, which he described as embodying the energy and duality of human nature. "I wanted something that felt with the energy," he said in an interview at the time, adding, "Just with the universe was giving me, I wanted to match that energy," as quoted by E! News. Most recently, West appeared to distance himself from his previous online persona. On May 31, he announced his departure from his verified account on X (formerly Twitter), which still bears the handle @kanyewest. "Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest Twitter cause my name is Ye," he wrote, adding, "Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is." West shares four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. (ANI)
