Ricky Saints has friction with Ethan Page, but he believes that only makes for a good match.

Ricky Saints spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard at WrestleMania Media Day about his feud with Ethan Page, who, like him, left AEW to join NXT. There are some similarities between the two, but their personalities are very different. Despite that contrast, Saints said their dynamic brings out the best in each other.
'Polar opposites attract, of course, and I'm no stranger to Ethan. We have met before on the indies and other places, things of that nature, so I think having that chemistry only creates the best types of matches and outcomes,' Ricky Saints said.
Ricky Saints is focused on the present
Plenty of things come to mind when fans think about Ricky Saints' career. This ranges from his various title wins to his AEW exit to his new name in NXT, among other topics. Is there anything that Saints wants fans to focus on more, or something that he feels deserves more attention?

'I think it's just really focusing on my current work right now, and stuff that I'm trying to do currently,' Ricky Saints said. 'I would just focus on the effort I'm putting out there right now.'
In closing, Saints was asked if he had a message for Page ahead of Stand & Deliver, so he offered a simple preview of what was to come.
'Hey, bud, you're gonna lose,' Saints said.
Could the same ring true on Tuesday's episode of NXT? We'll have to wait and find out.

Saints Play of the Day: Aaron Brooks' 17-yard game-winner against Panthers

The New Orleans Saints 2025 season is rapidly approaching. To celebrate just 17 days left, we are turning back the clock over 20 years for an Aaron Brooks game-winning touchdown against the Carolina Panthers for today's Saints Play of the Day. Back in Week 12 of the 2001 season, New Orleans was fighting to stay above .500 and get back into the playoffs for a second straight year. Though the Panthers got out to an early 7-0 lead, most of the game was really a cat-and-mouse match. The Saints got the lead and kept pushing their lead until Carolina would answer right back. The Panthers ended up taking their second lead of the game with just under three minutes left in the game. Brooks and the New Orleans offense would have to get down the field and score. That's exactly what they did, and it didn't take long. The first play of the drive was a 42-yard connection with Ricky Williams. Then it was 14 yards to Eddie Williams and just like that the Saints were in striking distance. Our play of the day came on second and nine, when Brooks found Joe Horn in the corner of the endzone for a 17-yard touchdown. You can watch the action unfold for yourself here. New Orleans would go on to win from that touchdown by a score of 27-23. They improved to 6-5 on the season, but would ultimately finish 7-9 and miss the playoffs. The first year of the Brooks era wasn't pretty, but it had flashes like in this game. That pretty much sums up the career of Aaron Brooks, though.

Khalen Saunders recaps surprise call that the New Orleans Saints were trading him

Recently, the New Orleans Saints made one of their first moves as roster cut-downs start to shape up and position battles are being finalized. With the defensive tackle room being relatively crowded for the Saints, it was clear that one or two players would need to go, but it was unclear which of that group would be moved. That became quickly apparent when they traded veteran defensive lineman Khalen Saunders to the Jacksonville Jaguars shortly after their matchup. In a deal that somewhat came out of nowhere, it does end up making sense given the positional depth and the fact that the Saints are clearly moving in the direction of youth and smaller-scale contracts. After arriving in Jacksonville to take part in practice and getting the chance to ramp up for Week 3 of the preseason, Saunders discussed the trade from his perspective in his first sit-down with the Jaguars beat reporters. "Man, it was, I wanna say like 7:30-something, we had just got done with the game against y'all," Saunders recalled. "I got home, I was actually playing some Fortnite, and I got a call from coach Moore, and y'know I told the guys in the party like 'hold on real quick'. Muted the mic and took the call, and he was like 'Just wanna be the first one to tell you, the business of the game' stuff like that, and he was like 'so you're being traded.' "Obviously, heart dropping, all of that, and I'm like 'where to?' And then he's like 'Jacksonville', and I'm like 'the one we just played today?' But yeah, it was a surprise, I'm obviously really happy to be here, but yeah, it was almost instantaneous, the joy that came in, I'm like, wow, it's fast-moving, but wouldn't wanna be anywhere else." It is always compelling to hear what players have to say about trades they are involved in, and Saunders is a pretty clear-cut and open speaker, so he is one of the best to listen to for these types of situations. He was a great veteran presence for New Orleans as they worked through some years of tough football, and now he will get the chance to compete with the Jaguars in the AFC South.
