GK Barry teases when she will pop the question to girlfriend Ella Rutherford as their relationship gets serious almost a year after going public

Daily Mail12-07-2025
GK Barry has teased when she will pop the question to her girlfriend Ella Rutherford as she gave an insight into their relationship.
The TikTok star and Ipswich Town footballer, both 25, publicly confirmed their relationship in August 2024 after months of dating rumours and keeping the relationship private.
And while GK, real name Grace Keeling, often jokingly calls Ella her 'wife', she has now admitted she will be the one to propose to the sports star.
Speaking in an interview with The Mirror, Grace revealed: 'Ella's always like, "When are you proposing, then?" She asked me to be her girlfriend, so it's definitely me getting on the knee.'
The star confirmed it will be a destination proposal as she added: 'But we need to explore more countries, see which we like, then I can propose there.
'I'm not proposing in Skegness. She just needs to be patient — but patience isn't one of Ella's virtues.'
It seems the couple have done a U-turn on who would pop the question after Grace previously revealed it would be the footballer getting down on one knee.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday at the beginning of the year, she admitted that her and Ella have already confirmed they are getting married and having kids.
But sharing that the milestones could be a while off yet, Grace said: 'One day, it's going to happen, not yet, we're both set on doing well in our careers.
'Then she'll get down on one knee!'
GK previously admitted she was 'terrified' of first meeting Ella as she hadn't yet dated a woman after coming out.
She said: 'I knew I was bi, but I was really scared to date a woman. It was territory I'd never been in. I was really terrified to meet Ella. We had a mutual friend.
'I looked at her Instagram and I thought, "look at the calves on that! There's no way I'm letting her go." So I plucked up the courage and went on a date.'
Back in April Ella shared a rare insight into her relationship with Grace as she admitted 'she's changed my life for the better'.
Speaking on talkSPORT's The Kickback, Ella said: 'She [GK Barry] really just became, straight away, as soon as I met her, that rock - that I obviously had with family and stuff but I think it's different when you've got a partner and you're going home to them every night.
'She's been a massive part of why I'm so happy on the outside if people do see that. Since I met her, she's changed my life for the better.'
Ella added: 'She's flourished into her wag era. She's cooking dinners and enjoying just coming to the game with her prosecco.
'She hasn't got a clue what's going on. I asked "babe what do you do when I'm playing?" and she's just like "I just watch you".
'Sometimes she'll say like "that was a free kick" and she'll know a corner but I do need to sit her down.
'At the start I was banging my head because she didn't know what goal we were scoring in or what team we were - I said "we're wearing all blue babe you need to just look at our team".
'But she's come on, bless her. That's nice for me as well because she really does try to understand it as well as me understanding what she does and supporting her.
'She's been a massive support for me this year so that's been nice.'

The Osbournes who were snubbed from the family tribute: Ozzy's little-known son who was included in touching statement breaks his silence alongside sister who was left out - as mystery adopted child stays quiet

Ozzy Osbourne is survived by his six children following his death aged 76 on Tuesday - despite only four being mentioned in the family statement. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away 'surrounded by love', with children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis, along with wife Sharon named in the statement. But it remains a mystery why his two other children, Jessica and Elliot, were snubbed from the family tribute. Hours after it was published to social media, Jessica reshared Mario Lopez's tribute to her own Instagram and penned, 'RIP Ozzy.' It is unclear if she will release her own public statement, along with Elliot. Jessica was the one who made Ozzy a grandparent for the first time, and despite never appearing in The Osbournes' TV show, she was mentioned in the episode 'Smells Like Teen Spirits,' when Ozzy learned that she had welcomed a daughter. Jessica, who is now a Broadway actress, has two daughters, Isabelle and Kitty, and one son called Harry. Meanwhile, not much is known about Elliot Kingsley as he tends to keep out of the spotlight with no public social media accounts. Louis was clearly devastated by his father's passing, as he changed his Facebook profile picture to an all-black screen. Ozzy had three children from his first marriage, and three from his marriage to Sharon, whom he remained married to until his death. Before tying the knot to Sharon, he married his first wife Thelma Riley in 1971 after meeting her in a Birmingham nightclub. Together, they welcomed children Jessica and Louis, although details surrounding their birthdays are unclear. Ozzy also adopted Thelma's five-year-old son Elliot from a previous relationship. Louis now works as a DJ and married actress Louise Lennon in 2004. The pair tied the knot in 2004, with Ozzy unable to attend after suffering major injuries after being injured in a quad bike accident. In the 2011 documentary film God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, produced by his son Jack, he revealed that he could not even remember when Louis and Jessica were born. Ozzy and Thelma Riley's son Louis, who was mentioned in the statement despite his siblings being left off, changed his Facebook profile picture to black following the news Louis also opened up about growing up with a drunk father. 'When he was around and he wasn't [drunk], he was a great father,' he said in the documentary. 'But that was kind of seldom, really. I just have a lot of memories of him being drunk, random s**t like driving cars across fields and crashing them in the middle of the night and stuff like that. 'It's not good for family life, really.' His older sister, Jessica added: 'I don't remember being put to bed or having a bath by dad or anything like that. 'I wouldn't say he was there for us, no, never on sports day, school trip, parents' evening. He wasn't like that, no.' After divorcing Thelma, Osbourne went on to marry Sharon in 1982. Their first child, daughter Aimee was born September 2, 1983. One year later, they welcomed daughter Kelly (born October 27, 1984), and on November 8, 1985, their son, Jack was born. Aimee - who is also a singer and performs under her initials ARO - was born in London and raised in California until the age of 16 but moved out of the family home as filming for The Osbournes began in the early 2000s. Reflecting on her decision to not appear on the show she said: 'Back then, I still felt I was trying to figure out who I was in the chaos of family life, so why on earth would I want that portrayed on television? 'I wanted to protect myself, my parents, my siblings, too. They were very young, very impressionable.' She later defended her decision in 2008 and told The Independent: 'I'm not some weirdo depressed daughter that's afraid of the world and locks herself in her room all day. 'I just didn't choose to do the show. I want to be a singer, and I felt if I'd stayed with the Osbournes and done the whole thing I would have been typecast right away. '[Sharon] was hurt, and we definitely had a tough time with disagreements. I'm more reserved and my private life is very important.' Aimee also has a strained relationship with younger sister Kelly, who confirmed in an interview four years ago that they are estranged. Appearing on the Dax Shepard podcast - Armchair Expert in 2021, Kelly revealed: 'We don't talk. We're just really different. 'She doesn't understand me and I don't understand her.' Back in 2015 Aimee admitted to The Independent that she and Kelly were not on close terms and said: 'I wouldn't say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance. Do we socialize? No.' However, Aimee and brother Jack's bond is much better, with the pair both running production company Osbourne Media together. The Osbourne family said in a statement on Tuesday: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.' Ozzy revealed earlier this year that he could no longer walk amid his years-long battle with Parkinson's disease. However, he still managed to reunite with his bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward for their final gig earlier this month. Amid his ailing health, Ozzy admitted he was unsure whether to perform standing up or sitting down following a series of spinal operations. The singer was in strict training, which even sees his blood pressure being taken 15 times a day. He explained: 'I have got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It's hard going, but he's convinced that he can pull it off for me. I'm giving it everything I've got. 'It's endurance. The first thing that goes when you're laid up is your stamina. 'I am having my blood pressure taken 15 times a day.. I've got this f***ing device on my finger. It's a monitor to say how my heart rate is.' Ozzy vowed to do the 'best he can' during his final show after his string of health concerns in recent years. The star was a titan of music who somehow survived controversies that would end the careers of many others, and weathered health problems that would leave most of us on our backs. The death of the man who invented headbanging ends the final chapter of a life that was marked by both dizzying success and fame but also scandal, abuse and even prison time. The singer, who sold more than 100 million records, will forever be synonymous with the heavy metal band he formed in his home city. With hits that included Iron Man, War Pigs and Paranoid, Black Sabbath's pushing of occult themes proved both hugely popular and controversial, with a future pope even condemning Osbourne for his 'subliminal satanic influence'. Ozzy was born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham in 1948, and dropped out of school at the age of 15. After serving two months in prison for burglary, he decided to pursue his love of music and by 1970 Black Sabbath had gained a huge following in the US and UK with the release of their first album. Ozzy quit the band in 1978 and divorced his first wife Thelma Mayfair, who he had two children with, four years later, amid his ongoing substance abuse problems. He went on to marry second wife Sharon Osbourne, who helped him transform into a successful solo artist and the couple had three children together. Ozzy gained a whole new audience of fans with the family's reality TV show The Osbournes in 2001. He is survived by his wife Sharon and his five children, Jessica, Louis, Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

Groom's ‘rude' seven-word statement about his wife goes viral as people say they'd ‘die of embarrassment'

BAD GROOMING Groom's 'rude' seven-word statement about his wife goes viral as people say they'd 'die of embarrassment' A GROOM has come under fire for his ''rude'' seven-word remark at the altar just moments after his gorgeous bride walked down the aisle. Entrepreneur James Hachem, once named in the Forbes Rich List, tied the knot with content creator Antonia Apostolou in an lavish wedding ceremony at the idyllic Villa Pizzo in Lake Como earlier this summer. 2 The pair tied the knot in Italy earlier this summer - however, it's the groom's 'rude' remark that got everyone talking Credit: tiktok/@antoniahachem 2 The shocking comment has taken the internet by storm, sparking a fierce debate on TikTok Credit: tiktok/@antoniahachem Shortly before the loved-up pair exchanged their vows in front of 140 guests, the happy groom blurted out: '''F*** me, does she not look insane?'' The groom's shocking comment in the clip highlighted just how jaw-dropping the partner looked in an intricate lace gown featuring a low-cut fitted corset. After the remark, the attendees erupted into laughter, breaking into applause and cheers. As his bride waved to the their friends and family, James, from Australia, can be seen wiping away tears. ''Everyone take a deep breath... today is the day that's going to live in our hearts and our memory,'' the marriage celebrant said. Antonia shared the footage on her TikTok page, with the caption: ''Aussies in the middle of their elegant Italian ceremony.'' The short clip has been viewed more than 507,000 times - with viewers left divided over the groom's remarks. ''I would die of embarrassment,'' one said. ''That ruined the classy moment,'' another chimed in. ''He's nervous, he blurted out what he was thinking - kinda cute,'' one suggested. Watch the shock moment furious Mafs Australia groom hangs up on wife after fleeing the show leaving her 'sick to the core' ''I would be mortified,'' someone else thought. Some took particular issue with the groom for his ''disrespectful'' choice of words. ''Why the foul language?'' one wondered. However, many saw the funny side as they agreed with the Aussie entrepreneur, with one saying: ''She absolutely does look stunning. Valid as f***. Congratulations.'' Why it's time to ditch wedding favours once and for all By Josie Griffiths, Deputy Digital Fabulous Editor and bride-to-be Josie Griffiths said: When was the last time you spotted something in a shop window or browsed past it online and thought 'that would be the perfect gift for 120 of my closest friends, work colleagues, relatives and boyfriend's mate's partners I barely know'? I'll tell you when, never, because there is NO universal gift everyone is going to love - unless you want to bankrupt yourself buying Rolexes and Tiffany jewellery, and even then they wouldn't be to everyone's taste. So why do brides still pile the stress (and expense) of wedding favours on top of everything else we have to organise? I've been to dozens of weddings over the past five years so when I got engaged, I already had a mental list of dos and don'ts for my own big day, and ditching wedding favours was firmly on it. The cost of buying an individual present for everyone coming is huge, meaning many couples try and keep it in the under-a-fiver category. But the reality is no-one wants a cheap, ill-thought-out keepsake - they'd probably rather one more free drink from the bar. It's not only that, wedding handbags are notoriously small, with no room to stuff an unexpected gift in, and catering waiters have a bad habit of whisking away the wedding favours when they're clearing the coffee mug off the tables. I bet none of my guests will even notice the lack of random gift on their dining table. If you really hate the idea of not buying something for your guests, charity donations are always a nice gesture. But the last thing your friends and family need is more random tat cluttering up their homes - so it's time to save them the guilt of binning your Etsy-bought keyring. ''When he said that in front of everyone, I started laughing but I know that he loves you,'' another shared. ''Can't get more Aussie than this - and yes she does look insane,'' one said, laughing as she agreed with how gorgeous the bride looked. ''He's not wrong,'' another added. Back in June, it was reported that the couple's lavish European wedding cost more than $1million (£866k), Mail Online said. The couple looked absolutely besotted with each other as they happily danced after the ceremony, while guests clapped along. The fun didn't end there either, with the newlyweds later hoisted into the air on chairs inside the villa's ballroom and celebratory firework show. James is the son of world poker champ Joe Hachem, while Antonia is a social media influencer and content creator who boasts 214,000 followers on Instagram and a further 195,000 on TikTok.

Shoppers 'vow to stop buying popular snack' after 'tragic' change

Shoppers have hit out at the 'tragic' change made to an iconic British snack and vowed to find an alternative, despite the move being better for the environment Shoppers have lamented a "British tragedy" after an iconic snack underwent a major change to its packaging this week. Pot Noodle, which first hit supermarket shelves in the UK in 1977, is a brand of instant noodles that comes in variety of flavours including Chicken & Mushroom, Chinese Chow Mein and Bombay Bad Boy. ‌ Originally launched by Golden Wonder and now owned by Unilever, the quick meal typically comes in a recognisable plastic container, but is now undergoing a cosmetic change for the good of the planet. However, it appears the change hasn't gone down well among some fans, who took to social media to vent their frustrations. ‌ "It's literally a British tragedy," TikTok user Honest Thoughts declared in a video, brandishing a Chicken & Mushroom flavoured Pot as an example. ‌ "Pot Noodles are now made of carboard, so if you have any plastic ones, keep the pots so that you can reuse because these [new] ones are absolute s***," she said. It followed her previous clip on the social media platform in which she described the cardboard as "soggy af" once boiling water had been added to the noodles. "First our straws, now our Pot Noodles," she cursed. Writing in response, meanwhile, another TikTok user agreed with the sentiment. "Just don't buy them anymore. I'm not. Try a different brand or even stores own brand. ‌ A second agreed: "Or vote with your wallet and buy another brand." A third added: "I've got a few plastic pots that I've used for other things, but now the pot noodle will be filling them instead of cardboard nonsense." WARNING – explicit language in video below. Viewer discretion is advised. ‌ Meanwhile a fourth TikTok user said: "I had a cardboard one and it was crap - it doesn't retain heat like the plastic ones so my pot noodle didn't take the amount of time it's supposed to. It took ages. I could have made a meal in the time it took for the noodles to get soft." Others defended the move, however, including one person who questioned: "Tragedy? Guess we have different ideas of what a tragedy is. Heaven forbid people care about the planet." ‌ And another individual agreed: "Am I the only one that's happy companies are moving away from single use plastics?" Pot Noodle's owners said of the change in a statement online: "Innovating with alternative materials – like paper – is a key part of Unilever's sustainable packaging strategy and will play an important role in reducing our use of virgin plastic, alongside increasing our use of recycled content, moving to ultra-concentrated formulas which use smaller bottles, and other packaging innovations such as refillable bottles. "Following a full product life cycle assessment (LCA), we know that by moving from plastic to paper pots, as well as a significant virgin plastic reduction, reduces the Co2 footprint of the total lifecycle of each pot by 14% which is 3,700 tonnes carbon dioxide equivalents (tCO2-eq.) per year." The company added: "Switching over 98 million pots to paper and saving 1,870 tonnes of plastic every year as is a big step in reducing virgin plastic whilst helping shoppers to make a more sustainable everyday choice. "The pots are made from 90% paper as a single layer of ultra-thin plastic film is used to provide barrier protection inside the pot, which ensures ingredients remain fresh – helping to extend the shelf life of Pot Noodle's and reduce food waste – whilst also protecting the structure of the pot when water is added, without inhibiting the recyclability of the pot."
