A wave of shock and sorrow swept through the nation following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI 171 near Ahmedabad on Thursday morning. The flight, which was bound for London, crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad airport, with 242 passengers and crew members on board. The mishap occurred in the Meghaninagar area, and the aircraft caught fire on impact.
As news of the horrifying incident broke, leading South Indian film personalities took to social media to mourn the loss of lives and express solidarity with the affected families.
Megastar Chiranjeevi Konidela shared his sorrow on X (formerly Twitter), writing: 'Devastated to hear about the horrifying tragedy involving the Flight #AI171 bound to London from Ahmedabad. No words will suffice to say how heartbreaking this is. My deepest condolences and prayers to the families of the departed! May their souls rest in peace!"
Allu Arjun, too, reacted to the heartbreaking news, posting on Instagram:

The entertainment industry has joined millions of Indians in mourning this unimaginable loss, standing in support of grieving families as the country awaits more details about the cause of the crash and the status of survivors, if any.
Early reports indicate that the Air India aircraft crashed in a densely populated neighborhood near Ahmedabad airport, leading local residents to rush to the site and assist in rescue efforts. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has reportedly traveled from Surat to Ahmedabad to assess the situation. As per an IANS report, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken with Patel about the crash, and the central government has promised full assistance in handling the aftermath.
Footage of the crash shows the aircraft flying abnormally low and struggling to maintain altitude before it slammed into the ground and burst into a massive fireball at 1:38 p.m. The plane was carrying a full load of fuel for its long-distance flight to London.
Videos from the crash site show charred debris and thick smoke rising into the sky, with emergency crews working at the scene. Several clips also captured injured passengers being taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
