) will begin the allotment process for 334 residential plots under its
Anant Nagar scheme
on Mohan Road from June 10.
The allotment will be conducted through a computerised lottery at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan over three days, in the presence of all 13,031 applicants.
According to LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar, the Anant Nagar Scheme spans 785 acres and includes 2,100 residential, 120 commercial, and 60 group housing plots, where approximately 10,000 flats will be constructed.
"We are using a transparent, computerised system for the lottery to ensure fairness," said Kumar, adding that all preparations are complete, and the process will take place under official supervision.
Applicants are advised to carry their acknowledgment slip and a valid ID to the venue.

Karnataka: Over 800 property documents registered on June 1
BENGALURU : The govt's new weekend property registration initiative kicked off on a promising note with over 800 documents registered across the state on June 1— the first Sunday after the reform was introduced. The initiative, aimed at easing weekday congestion at sub-registrar offices, brought in more than Rs 3 crore in revenue through stamp duty and registration fees on that one day alone. Officials from the department of stamps and registration described the initial response as "decent" and "encouraging". Some said they are optimistic that participation will increase in coming weeks. "Besides easing weekday rush, the move is aimed at offering flexibility to working individuals," said a department official. He said the department is considering launching awareness campaigns to popularise the option. As per the scheme, at least one sub-registrar office in every district will remain open on the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays of the month. Department data shows around 834 property documents were registered across the state on the opening day, including 60 linked to the farmer registration and unified beneficiary information system (FRUITS). Dharwad district saw the highest number of registrations at 140, followed by Chitradurga with 95 and Bijapur (Vijayapura) with 69. In contrast, the five stamp and registration districts within Bengaluru Urban recorded just 20 registrations in total. There are 35 registration districts in Karnataka , including five within Bengaluru, but on June 1, only 32 districts offered property registration services. No registrations took place in Kodagu, Karwar, and Shivajinagar. P Sunil Kumar, inspector general of registration and commissioner of stamps (IGRCS), highlighted the rationale behind the move. "The sub-registrar offices working on the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays will observe a holiday on the following Tuesday. So, the revenue collection will remain the same. Our main intention is to assist the working class rather than collecting more revenue," Kumar said. He also said the department will monitor the scheme over the next few weeks to assess its effectiveness. "The department may adopt any measures required after the review for the effective implementation of the initiative in the state," he added. Officials noted that weekend registration has made the process smoother for buyers and sellers alike, especially for those who previously struggled to visit sub-registrar offices during the week due to packed schedules.

India poised to benefit from FTAs, says RAI CEO Kumar Rajagopalan
SINGAPORE: India has emerged as a 'great place' to use the advantages accruing from Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), a senior retail industry official said as he highlighted the success of Make in India programme. 'We are among the most attractive markets, with a growing young population that makes us one of the world's largest consumer markets with insatiable demand for the best in the world,' said Retailers Association of India (RAI) CEO Kumar Rajagopalan at an event here. FTAs will also give Indians access to items that get manufactured abroad at a more convenient pricing, he added. But he was also quick to dismiss notions of dumping cheap inferior goods into the Indian market, pointing out that the country has created laws that can protect against such trade-damaging practices, and that can be challenged at the World Trade Organisation. According to Kumar, a trade veteran of 40 decades, a full-fledged quality control checking system is in place to ensure Indian consumers are getting the best products as imports of edibles is set to increase following the signing of more and more FTAs by the Indian government in an endeavour to reach out the global markets . FTAs are increasing India's bilateral trade globally, covering value-added high-end and heavy-duty industrial products to edibles such as soybeans, cheeses, vines and beverages. RAI leads about 2,500 members, mostly retailers at national level, with an annual business volume of about USD 900 billion, that is set to grow at 10 per cent annually. Speaking to PTI after participating in the National Retailers Federation's 2025 for Asia Pacific held in Singapore during June 3-6, Kumar pointed out that the Make in India programme is producing world-class high-standard products both for the domestic market as well as export, 'thanks to the FTAs opening more export opportunities'. Kumar also sees competition from world-class products for Make in India. "Imports and exports will create a competitive landscape and we will see further upgrades in manufacturing processes within India to make globally-rated products be it hardware, software and or edibles.' India, he said, produces agri and non-agri products for consumers as well as industrial plants for the world. He said that 85 per cent of the 7,00,000 stores in India are still operating in traditional formats, ranging from the corner shop Kiraana to single store supplying everything in the range of garments and edibles, competing with mega modern-day fast-pace trading department stores, online and offline supply chain operators. Fast and quick-commerce have reduced delivery time to 10 minutes while e-commerce and online payments have made retailing business easier and prompt, he observed. A latest example of India made products from design to garment production is Mumbai-headquartered 'Fynd', an artificial intelligence-driven commerce platform that is serving the Indian market as well as the Middle East and Africa markets. NRF 2025 had 9,500 trade visitors from over 72 countries, alongside participation from 240 exhibitors and sponsors, and 150 conference speakers.
